CHAPTER 28: I WISH...

REAH'S POV 

"Tell me, how many times have you done it?" Joyce was really excited as she asked away questions. 

Being friends for so many years and having heard multiple of her experiences, I wasn't shy to tell her anything at all. 

"We've only been married for four days already. The first night, we weren't able to do much as I was very tired. He only touched my breasts and slept off with his hand cupping them. Alpha Xavier only looked at her and looked away. He walked over and dropped the nutrients he got on the table "This was everything that was written on the list," He said to me before he walked over to a seat and sat down. 

Joyce looked at me, I could feel her nervousness. No matter how cheerful someone was, in front of the beastly aura coming from Alpha Xavier, they would surely lose their tongue. 

Alpha Xavier's natural aura was oppressing enough, coupled with the fact that he was angry at the moment and he didn't seem to like Joyce either, his thick aura turned thicker and it was making it hard for someone to even raise their head to look at him. 

Joyce took my hand as she sat back in her seat. She wasn't able to say another word as she just held my hand. Soon, she showed me her phone screen where she wrote questions about when Alpha Xavier would be leaving. 

"Are you leaving tonight?" I asked Alpha Watson who was already on his phone. 

He raised his head, his eyes went to Joyce and he pursed his lip "No. I'm staying with you for the night," His tone at the moment seemed to be the nicest I had ever heard from him whenever he was talking to me. 

The coldness in his eyes was still there, the hatred even seemed to multiply again but for some reason, he talked to me in a calm and soothing voice. 

"He's staying?!" Joyce blurted and quickly covered her mouth. 

She stood up, "I should leave then. I will see you tomorrow," She said and before I was able to stop her, she already turned around to look at Alpha Xavier. "Good Night, Alpha," She greeted. 

"Good Night," He coldly replied and Joyce rushed out of the ward. 

She closed the door behind her without even bothering to look at me and seeing her scared attitude, I felt like it was amusing. Were Alphas that scary? No, humans just tend to create a scary picture of Alphas in their hearts because they aren't as strong as the Alphas. 

Alpha Xavier looked at me, his anger was evident again and he even crossed his legs "What was that?" He questioned. 

My heart skipped a beat, I indeed knew what he was talking about "What was what?" I pretended not to understand. 

"Don't give me that fake pretence!" He scolded and I looked away. 

What was I supposed to tell him? It was something my friend and I were talking about when we were alone. Was it something I was supposed to report to him too?

"I hope you told her about the arranged marriage too, how you drugged me and how you tricked my mother into liking you. You could also tell her how evil you are, how you are nothing but a lowly witch and how you are just a mere substitute for the woman I truly love," 

I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath. I kept telling myself not to listen to him, not to hear what he was saying but my throat felt heavy. 

I clenched my fist and bit my tongue, It wasn't his first time talking to me anyhow, it wasn't his first time calling me names but that wasn't something that I could just ignore either!

"I never drugged you!" I yelled at him. 

"You've even become a liar. You are such a disappointment, Reah," He said and shook his head.

His eyes turned colder and he sneered as he stood right. He walked back to his seat, sat back and crossed his legs. 

The hatred in his eyes increased and my heart sank even deeper. Why did he keep misunderstanding me? Why did he hate me so much when all I had ever done was love him?

I let out a deep breath and looked toward the window which was showing the dark sky. The stars scattered in the sky, sparkling and making the night seem beautiful. 

Two lines of tears rolled down my eyes as a bitter smile formed on my lips. I wished I were the stars... Unrestrained and bright!
