CHAPTER 36: JESSIE'S DEATH

REAH'S POV 

I landed in the hospital again and this time around, I could see myself bleeding. The pain was immense and it made me want to faint but the fear of losing my baby kept me awake all through. 

I saw the doctors rushing up and down to stabilize the situation. Thanks to Alpha Xavier's teleportation ability which made it possible for us to get to the hospital in seconds so I did not lose too much blood. 

After a while, the pain subsided but the fear remained. Alpha Xavier was beside me, he looked very worried too but underneath that worried expression was hatred and anger. He was looking at me with hatred in his eyes and I knew he despised me. 

"She's okay now," One of the doctors finally said but that wasn't what I was waiting to hear and I was certain it wasn't what Alpha Xavier wanted to hear either. "The baby is okay but I would advise you to be very careful from now on. The only reason she did not lose the baby was because of the nutrients she's been taking. She should continue taking them and by the time she is done with the prescription that was given to you, she will be strong enough to go on with any activity," The Doctor advised. 

Hearing that, I closed my eyes and breathed in relief. After a while, I opened my eyes and smiled at the doctor "Thanks, Doctor," I said sincerely. 

The doctor bowed "It's nothing, Luna," He replied and bowed to Alpha Xavier before he left the room. 

The remaining doctors glanced at each other before they walked forward "She can also be discharged right away," One of them told us. 

"Discharge her then," Alpha Xavier ordered and somehow, I felt like something was really wrong. 

The doctor removed the things that were placed on me and Alpha Xavier grabbed my hand. The next moment, he teleported away from the hospital and appeared in his room. I lay in bed while he stood in the same spot he sat before we left the hospital. 

I looked at him, waiting for whatever he had to say as I could tell he was ready to insult me again. 

"Why did you do that? Were you so desperate for sex that you couldn't even wait until the baby in you was strong enough? Are you that much of a whore?" He questioned harshly. 

My eyes twitched. I found it hard to believe what I was hearing. I knew he was going to talk but I didn't expect him to say the words he said. "Do you even use your brain at all? Why do you always think like a senseless fool?!" I yelled at him. 

Knowing I just left the hospital and I was weak at the moment, I knew he would never touch me or hurt me in any way. 

"Why would I waste my time drugging you? Wasn't I the one who stopped you from having sex with me a week ago? Why would I trouble myself to drug you again?" I questioned. 

He was very shocked. He stared at me without saying a word and clenched his fist. "Reah..." He growled. 

"Jessie was the one who dropped that wine for you. I guess he wants you to think I drugged you or something which is actually very foolish of her. If you need to make anyone pay, she should be the one and right now, I should be the one angry!" I glared at him. 

"Despite knowing that I'm sick, I still decided to help you because I was worried about you. You are just too ungrateful and full of yourself!" I continued. 

After saying my bit, I covered myself up and closed my eyes, ready to sleep. I gave no damn about how he felt at the moment because I knew I was safe. 

He stood there for a while but I had no idea when he left anymore. 

Soon, I heard someone whimpering and I opened my eyes to see who it was only to see that it was Jessie, who was on the ground, sweating and dragging her butt on the ground. 

"Explain, why did you do it?" Alpha Xavier's demonic voice resounded in the room. 

Jessie looked at me and her eyes flashed "It was because of her. It was because of that bitch... ahhhhhh!" She screamed as if she was in pain. "She's not a bitch. Luna... Luna Reah. It was because I wanted to ruin her. I had no idea she was your woman!" Jessie continued screaming. 

"When she insulted me that day and you took her side, I decided to teach her a lesson. I thought if you think she drugged you, You would have killed her the moment you realized something was wrong. I had no idea she would still be alive. I was silly, I was very silly. I'm so sorry, Alpha!" She confessed, more sweat forming on her forehead. 

The top actress that many fan guys would be ready to die for was sitting on the ground in a miserable state. She looked extremely pale and her hands kept trembling. 

I had no idea what she had gone through but I knew it wasn't anything nice and I was extremely scared. I placed a hand on my belly, inwardly thanking the baby in me for protecting me against a monster like Alpha Xavier. 

"You dare play a trick on me?" He questioned and right then, I could see his hands transforming. 

It was the first time I had ever seen him transformed and my eyes widened. I looked at him, unable to believe what I was seeing. 

He appeared in front of Jessie the next moment and grabbed her neck before throwing her to the wall "How dare you?!" He growled. "Do you know the punishment for your sin?" 

Jessie nodded her head amidst the pain. Blood trickled down the corner of her lips as she lowered her head again "Death," She replied and my eyes widened. 

He wouldn't kill her... He wouldn't kill her, right?

"Fine. I'm glad you know," He said and his blue eyes turned red. 

His face turned pale white which made him look even more beastly. The next moment, Jessie started rolling on the ground. She wasn't making a noise but with her expression, it wouldn't take an expert to know that she was in extreme pain. 

Her skin wrinkled and she looked even paler. Her hair turned whiter and she continued squirming on the ground, trying to grab hold of something. 

It was like she knew apologizing wouldn't change anything, she didn't apologize neither did she scream in pain like she did earlier but I could clearly see she was dying. 

Tears rolled down my eyes as I shook my head. I had no good intentions toward Jessie but dying this way was just too cruel. My heart raced and clenched, I felt my blood dry up and my head ached. 

I could no longer afford to watch the scene and closed my eyes.  

After a long while, I heard one final long breath and opened my eyes only to see Jessie's unmoving body on the ground!

She was... dead!

I looked at Alpha Xavier who had already returned to normal and his gaze was careless as if what just happened had nothing to do with him. 

Thinking I loved someone as dangerous as him, my heart bled and my breathing turned haggard. 

The door opened and a man walked in. He bowed to Alpha Xavier and bowed to me too. 

"Dispose of her. Make sure to let the world know her crime," Alpha Xavier ordered. 

The man walked toward the body and took it away. I watched the door close behind him, stunned and unable to process more. 

I was shocked, something like this shouldn't be happening in this day and age. Killing someone without batting an eye and letting the world know about it just because you are an Alpha. Wasn't that just too cruel?

"You are a..." My words stopped in my throat when the scene of Jessie's last moment flashed in my mind. My body trembled and fear gripped my heart. 

I was just about to call him a monster. What if he killed me for calling him a monster?

He walked over to me and I whispered. My heart wouldn't stop racing and more tears rolled down my eyes. 

"Did you see that?" He asked and I grew weak from within. "That might be you after you give birth to that baby you are carrying," He said and before I could even say a word, he disappeared. 

My stomach churned, I swallowed hard and coldness filled my body. I shook my head repeatedly, trying to tell myself it was just a dream but I couldn't. 

I felt fear from within my soul and I knew at that moment that Alpha Xavier was someone I couldn't contend with...
