Allan stared back at me as his eyes darted across my face.

“What does that have to do with me?” He finally asked, which made me run my hand through my hair.

“I need to talk to Kiara first before I decide anything.” I shrugged and stepped closer to him. “But I do like you, Allan.” I paused and flicked my eyes down to his lips. “You’re gorgeous. I’m intrigued by you. I want to get to know you more, but I also need you to be able to defend yourself. I won't always be here to protect you.” I paused and touched the side of his face. “I don’t know if it’s just lust or if it could be something more. If you’re willing, I’d like to figure it out together.”
