2 years later...

I hadn’t spoken to Kiara since that day. I fell into this dark pit where I was so angry but couldn’t do anything about it. I kept my promise to Allan. I didn’t take revenge. I got justice.

I gained proof of the warden's illegal ways and the deals he made with the inmates. I found out he arranged the hit since I was taking my time. My lawyer helped me build a case, and together we got the warden put away for the rest of his life.

To be honest, it didn’t make me feel better, but I knew it was all I could do.

I couldn’t face Kiara. I refused to read her letters, take her calls, or even see her when she came to visit. For a year, she kept trying, but eventually the letters stopped coming. I just needed time alone. I needed to heal, and I did. I found peace.
