CHAPTER NINE

Kelvin’s P.O.V

As soon as I finished getting dressed following my shower, my landline phone rang. I answered it.

“Hello?” I greeted the person on the other end of the line.

"Hi, Mr. Anderson, this is Rebecca from the front desk. You have a guest named Anika Downs. She claims to be your boss and wants to see you. Should I allow her in?" the receptionist inquired.

I was taken back by the unexpected visit.

‘What is she doing here?’ I pondered.

It didn't make sense for the CEO of a highly esteemed company to show up at my apartment hours after publicly humiliating me.

"Are you still there, Mr. Anderson?" I snapped out of my thoughts.

"Yes, please let her in," I permitted.

"Alright, I'll send her up," she confirmed.

"Thank you, and have a good day," I hung up the phone.

I rubbed my forehead and let out a sigh. That woman was perplexed. I wouldn't allow her actions or words to affect me. I intended to handle the situation perfectly and not tolerate any further insults from her.
