Chapter Seven

"You're hired," he said, leaving her speechless. She couldn't believe it. After all the strange questions he had asked during the interview, she never expected to actually get the job.

"Wait, really?" she blurted out, still trying to process the sudden turn of events.

He looked at her, a hint of confusion in his eyes. "Don't you want the job?" he asked, making sure he hadn't misunderstood her reaction.

She’d better not dare refuse the job.

She quickly shook her head, realizing she had given off the wrong impression. "No, no! I definitely want the job!" she exclaimed, a mix of excitement and relief flooding over her.

"Then what are you waiting for?" he asked, a frown on his handsome face, "Get started!"

She jumped up from her seat, trying her best not to trip over her own excitement. But as she looked at her new boss, she couldn't help but notice a hint of grumpiness beneath that handsome face of his.

"Sir, what do I do?" she asked, her voice filled with a mix of hesitation and curiosity. She needed some guidance to at least know how this new job works.

Sébastien gave her a stern look before pointing towards the door.

"The first thing you need to learn is how to make my coffee. So go out there and let Michelle teach you how to make it"

With her eyes a bit widened, she nodded like a lizard before picking up her things and walking out of the office.

As she made her way to the front desk, she spotted Michelle sitting there, looking as sassy as ever. The other candidates gave her confused looks, clearly wondering why she was heading towards Michelle.

With a mischievous smile, Michelle raised an eyebrow and said, "Oh, look who it is! What brings you here, my dear? I guess you weren’t qualified"

Scar rolled her eyes and replied, "Well, the boss said you're the coffee master, and I thought I'd come and learn from the best."

Michelle smirked and shot back, "Oh, really? Why waste my time when you didn’t get the job?"

Scar couldn't help but grin. "Well, funny you should mention that. I actually got the job"

Michelle's eyes widened in disbelief.

She jerked up from her sit.

"What?!"

Scar giggled, flipping her hair behind. "You’re free to go confirm"

Michelle quickly rushed into the boss's office to confirm the news.

Moments later, she emerged with a gloomy expression, glaring daggers at Scar.

Scar met her glare with a smug look, enjoying the moment. Even the other candidates couldn't help but shoot her jealous glances.

They had already envisioned her failure with her her nonchalant personality and she actually got the job?

Someone couldn’t help wondering if she pulled some strings to get it. Like, she looks beautiful with all the curves in the right places. She could easily seduce the CEO and make him accept her.

Well the time frame was short, but what if she gave him a b*lowjob. That one can be done in minutes.

All there thoughts ran through their head and their hatred for her grew.

A woman who uses her body for personal gain wasn’t worth being called a woman.

Michelle grumbled under her breath, clearly very annoyed. With an exaggerated sigh, she motioned for Scar to follow her to the kitchen area. Scar, ever the nonchalant observer, trailed behind with a casual expression on her face.

As they reached the kitchen, Michelle took on an air of elegance, as if she were about to unveil a grand secret. She gracefully picked up a bag of coffee beans and began her lesson.

"Scarlet, making the boss' coffee is an art form," Michelle purred, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "First, we grind the coffee beans, ensuring they are as fine as possible. It's all about the perfect grind"

Scar watched with a nonchalant gaze, her arms crossed, as Michelle demonstrated the grinding process. Michelle continued, her voice laced with faux sweetness, "Next, you carefully measure the coffee grounds and add them to the French press."

With deliberate slowness, Michelle reached for a teaspoon of sugar, a mischievous glint in her eye. "And now, my dear Scarlet, the pièce de résistance," she whispered, as she dropped the forbidden ingredient into the mix.

Sébastien liked his coffee as bitter as possible. No sugar, No milk.

But Michelle made Scar add sugar.

Scarlet raised an eyebrow, but followed Michelle's instructions to the letter. After the coffee was brewed, Scar took up the cup and saw the wicked smile playing on Michelle’s lips. "Now, go and present this masterpiece to the boss. Let's see if he notices the little surprise."

Scar was a bit hesitant at the wicked glint flashing in the bimbo’s eyes but she shrugged it off.

Besides the bimbo didn’t like her.

She took the coffee and walked to Seb’s office.

With a gentle knock and approval from the inside, she walked in.

Michelle grinned wickedly and followed behind her into the office.

Scar approached Seb's table with a grin, ready to bask in the glory of her coffee-making skills.

With a dramatic flair, she placed the cup on the table and took two steps back, eagerly awaiting his taste test.

But as he brought the coffee to his lips and took a sip, his face contorted in confusion. This was the moment Michelle had been waiting for. Scar excitement quickly turned into bewilderment.

"What's the problem?" She asked, confused. She looked into Seb's piercing grey eyes, hoping for a compliment that would make her day.

With a deadpan, annoyed expression, Seb replied, "This coffee is sweet."

Scarlet's eyes widened in realization.

She had misunderstood his preferences.

Or more like, someone had set her up.

She turned to glare at Michelle who had on a wicked smile.

Panic washed over her as she blurted out, "I added sugar"

The atmosphere in the room seemed to darken as Seb's face grew stormy.

Michelle, who had been lurking in the corner, couldn't resist the opportunity to unleash her pent-up frustration on Scarlet. "I can't believe you added sugar, Scarlet! I specifically told you never to add sugar to the boss' coffee!" she scolded, her voice dripping with disdain.

Scarlet's eyes widened in disbelief.

She shook her head and turned to Seb to tell him she didn’t do such a thing on purpose.

She opened her mouth to tell Seb that it was all Michelle.

But before she could utter a single word, Without warning, he grabbed his cup of warm coffee and flung it towards Scar, the liquid splattering across her face and soaking her shirt.

Scar stood there in a daze, stunned and humiliated,

Seb's voice turned menacingly low. "Leave my office, Scarlet. Don't come back until you've learned how to roast the perfect coffee bean and make my coffee to my exact specifications," he commanded, his words laced with a chilling intensity.

Michelle couldn't hide the triumphant smirk that crept across her face. Her plan had worked perfectly, and Scarlet's downfall felt like sweet victory.
