Kane's POV

A knock came at the door—urgent.

I felt it in my bones along with a strange feeling. I looked at Alec who sat on the couch. “Did you hear that?”

“Yes—” He confirmed with a nod.

I opened my mouth to speak again when a knock came at the door again. This time, it was louder than the first. Someone called from outside. “My Lord!” I recognized the voice of a guard. “There's something I must tell you. Right now.”

“Let him in—” I snapped my fingers.

The door, at that instant, pushed open. A young man whom I recognized stepped in at that moment, his breath shaky. I could see beads of sweat on his face.

But I remained calm.

“What is making you sweat like a goat?” I dropped the ancient book I read from, on the bed and now, faced him. “Has something happened to the members of the Pack?”

“My Lord.” He bowed, walked even closer.

“Something happened outside the Pack. The pack and its members are safe, but there's someone who needs medical attention. Although she has been taken t

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL ALPHA    36:The Fall

Rain's POV Shayla and I had just finished making a meal when my name was called from the kitchen entrance. When I turned, the guard who guards the Alpha's door was there, he looked in my direction. “Thank you, Shayla.” I greeted my friend who gave me a nod. “I can handle the rest. Thanks.” I assured her as I caught up with the man who bowed. I bowed back. “You called. What is the matter?” “The Alpha sent me. He wants you in his chamber. You're asked to be there before the next minute would end.” That was his message. While Darius walked away from my sight, I wondered what the Alpha would want from me at this point. Ignoring the meal I had just made, I was on my way to the Alpha's door, many thoughts running around in my head as I reached my destination. “What have you been doing?” I bowed, faced him, and let out. “My Lord. Good morning. I was making your meal when the guard came to call me.” One step and I was closer. “Is there something you need me to do?” I got my answer alread

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL ALPHA    35: Alec's Anger.

Alec’s POV I should have known this was the plan. I should have known this was the plan when he sent her to a tree she shouldn't be seen at in the first place. “I don't know what to say to you, Kane.” He shot me a glare. “What do you mean by that?” What did I not mean? I didn't speak in gibberish, did I? I wasn't even scared of him. Not at this point. There was a need to voice my thoughts and that's what I was trying to do. “I just asked you a very simple question.” I bowed, dropped the spoon on the table and started. “Forgive me for questioning your actions, Alpha Kane. But in my opinion, I believe you've done more than enough to the woman who doesn't deserve more of these.” “What do you mean?” How couldn't he understand? The Alpha I know wasn't dumb. The man I knew was smart, even more than me. “All I'm trying to say is that you take it easy with the woman so she doesn't lose her life. The other day, you asked her to be at the tree, knowing fully well that no woman has cla

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL ALPHA    34: Distasteful/Tasteful Meal

Kane's POV “What do you want?” “Your meal is ready, my lord.” “So what?” I snorted. “Is that why you don't recall I am the Alpha of this pack? Do you want to explain why you have not bowed since you walked into my chamber?” Immediately, she bent her head. “My Lord," She sounded again. “Forgive me. I am here to announce to you that your meal is ready.” “Good. You may leave. I would join you there.” She turned around, walked back to the door, and walked out. While one part of me strongly believed this was the time I was waiting for; a time to slap and hit the woman again because she would make nonsense in the name of a meal, another part of me had a funny feeling. The kind that said the meal came out well. How was that even possible? I walked to the door, out of the chamber, and was on my way to the dining hall. “Good morning, my lord.” Some of the pack members greeted me, and I waved back at them, my mind only ready to have the meal she had made me.“Good morning, my lord.”

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL ALPHA    33: Make A Meal.

Rain's POV It was the morning of the next week. And I wasn't tense. I wasn't surprised. Especially when I knew I had backup from Shayla who would see to it with me. Whether or not the meals came out well, I didn't care. It was a good feeling to know that someone was in this with me. What more could I ask for? “Good morning, Shayla.” “Good morning, Rain.” We were heading to the kitchen together. “It's time.” She looked at me and asked. “Don't feel tense or more, not even less. You're going to make a good cook by the time I am done with you.” Shayla told me about how she also was a Princess. But her case was different because she held a very respectable position in the pack. She was more than just a princess and cooking was even her hubby. We were the same, but opposites and I envied her more than anything. Even though one part of me didn't believe her words. I was just about to find out on my own. “Is there a problem?” I snapped out of my thoughts, heaved a deep sigh, and s

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL ALPHA    32: Seeking Assistance.

Rain's POV What?!Was the Alpha trying so hard to make fun of me? What did he mean by that? While one part of me believed I didn't hear him properly, the other part of me was more than certain that I did. “Wh—what did you say?” “What did you hear?” The beast did nothing but smile, the way he ate his meal told me he was waiting for this moment. I could see it right there, on his face. “In case I did not mention, which I'm sure I did: you'll resume next week. I'll speak with Lady Agnes and let her know this. You must do a good job, more than a good job even. The Alpha doesn't like to eat nonsense.” Did the Alpha not know I would make nonsense? A sigh only I could hear escaped my mouth. I managed a smile I would never mean, not with a beast. “My Lord.” It was the fakest of all bows but I did what I could. “You must understand that cooking is not something I can do. Even if I should make your meals, I'm sure I should learn something from the head of the maids who would be willing
