Mag-log inShe saw Axel's eyes flickering in regret, but it didn't last long.
"Just know I won't ever hurt you." He mumbled. She was about to speak when he injected her with the syringe, and she immediately passed out in his arms. Axel carried her in his arms and walked out of the garden. As soon as he got outside, he met kira there. She had a frown on her face when she saw him carrying Rebecca. "Should I get someone to come carry her?" She asked. "Get someone to dress her up." Axel said, ignoring her question. "You're taking her back?" Kira asked, a bit surprised. "Don't question me, Kira. Just do as I've said." He ordered. Kira bowed her head, "Okay boss." She muttered and walked away. Axel stared down at Rebecca's face, and he let out a sigh. He continued walking till he got to one of the empty rooms. He placed her on the bed. A few minutes later, Kira showed up with another girl. The girl bowed in a way of greeting, but Axel didn't spare her a stare. His gaze was fixed on Rebecca, who was in a deep sleep. "Take this gown off her and change her into something else. After that, take her back home." He gave out his orders. "Okay boss." The girl and Kira chorused. Axel bent his head to Rebecca's face, he wanted to kiss her forehead, but he stopped and stood straight. "Kira." He called. "Yes boss," Kira replied. "When you're done, come to my room." He said. On hearing that, a smile appeared on Kira's lips. "Okay boss." After taking one last glance at Rebecca, Axel walked out of the room. Kira locked the door to the room and then went to stand beside the bed. "She is so lucky, isn't she?" She uttered, staring at Rebecca. "Yes, she is. I'm glad boss is finally letting her go. We don't want anything to distract him, she's too weak to be by his side." The girl answered. "Yeah. But I wonder how she got those scars on her back. They are scary." Kira remarked. She had seen scars on Rebecca's back when she changed her clothes from the wedding gown earlier. The scars weren't little, they were big and glaring on her back. "Tell the boss about it, he might know." The lady suggested. Kira sighed. "I will." ****** It was a busy morning in the city of Miami. Everyone was seen walking hastily in the street, hurrying to their places of work, except Eric, who stood in front of the police station, wondering whether to go in or not. Ever since Rebecca was abducted, this was the umpteenth time he had visited the station. The police were tired of taking his calls, he literally called them every five minutes to ask if they had gotten any updates on Rebecca's whereabouts. When they stopped taking his calls, he began coming directly to the police station. He was about to go inside when his phone rang. He took out his phone and when he saw the name of the caller, he ignored the call. But then the phone rang again. It was the same person calling. With anger and frustration, he answered the call and spoke first. "What is it?" "You won't believe what I'm about to tell you right now." The feminine voice spoke through the phone. Eric frowned. "Then don't tell me." "Chill! I was on my way to work when I saw Rebecca's apartment open. I walked in trying to find out who was in there, and surprisingly I found Rebecca there." The girl informed him. Eric's eyes brightened immediately. "Are you serious?" The girl's scoff was heard on the phone, "Why would I joke about something like that? Rebecca is currently in her apartment, but it..." Eric didn't wait for her to finish talking before he hung up. He rushed into his car and drove off at a high speed, going to Rebecca's house. The drive was supposed to take up to twenty minutes, but he arrived there in less than twelve minutes. He parked the car in front of the building and then ran out of it, heading to Rebecca's apartment. When he got in, he found the sitting room empty. His heart began racing, what if Rebecca's neighbor that gave him the info was trying to pull a prank on him or something? He walked past the living room and when he opened the bedroom door, a sharp exhale escaped his lips as he saw Rebecca in the room with her two friends. "Eric!" Rebecca sprang up from the bed and then rushed to him. She pulled him into a tight hug. Eric wrapped his hands around her, reciprocating the hug. He heard her sniffling, and he started patting her back, trying to calm her down. "I'm here now, okay?" He whispered. All of a sudden, Rebecca pushed him off her, making Eric surprised. "Are you okay?" He asked in concern. Rebecca raised her hand up and wanted to give him a slap, but he caught her hand just in time. "Babe, is something wrong?" Eric asked again. He was getting more confused. Rebecca, on the other hand, was dissatisfied that he held her hand. She wanted to vent all her anger on him, just like she did to Axel. Rebecca's friend, Whitney, walked closer to them. She stared at Eric with hatred in her eyes. "What isn't wrong? Or have you forgotten how you pushed her towards men? Have you forgotten how you chose your sister over her without trying to deal with the situation?" The malice in Whitney's voice couldn't be hidden. Eric was bereft of words, he didn't know what to say to justify himself. "Are you Speechless?" Whitney chuckled. "I'm glad those men showed up, otherwise we would not have realized you did not care about Rebecca that much." She added. "Come off it, Whitney. Anyone in his shoes would do the same." Rebecca's other friend, Ella, spoke from the bed where she was seated. Whitney turned to her. "Are you kidding me? Would you push me or Rebecca to a kidnapper?" She questioned. Ella shook her head slowly. "No." "Then what on earth are you trying to imply?" Whitney asked. Eric and Rebecca weren't paying attention to them. While Eric was thinking of how to make Rebecca forgive him, Rebecca was thinking about her encounter with Axel. She just couldn't get it off her mind. "Can you guys please excuse us?" Eric finally spoke up. "We won't." Whitney had her mind made up. Eric turned to Rebecca. "Babe, please can we talk?" Rebecca took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She looked at Whitney and Ella and then gave them a knowing look. Whitney shrugged before exiting the room, while Ella just walked out quietly. "You can speak now." Rebecca urged. "I'm sorry, babe. I was not in my right senses, I was so tensed." He apologized. Rebecca scoffed. "So what if I got killed?" Eric held her hands immediately. "Don't say that, you know I can't live without you. I am so sorry for what happened. I will always choose you. Please forgive me." Rebecca took a deep breath. She didn't have a choice other than to forgive him. Eric had done a lot for her since they began their relationship. She wouldn't use his mistake to pay for all the good things he did for her. "It's fine." She muttered. A cheerful smile appeared on Eric's face. "I love you," he declared. Rebecca flashed him a smile, she didn't feel the need to reciprocate his love declaration. Her stomach made a loud rumbling sound and she pouted. Eric poked her cheek. "You are such a baby, I will make you your favorite meal. But first, you need to tell me how you got back home and why you were abducted." Rebecca shook her head. "No, I do not want stirred fried spaghetti, I want something else. We will talk about my return over breakfast." Eric was kind of surprised she rejected her favorite meal, but he didn't ask her why. "Okay babe. Rest for a while, I will be back." He told her. He planted a soft kiss on her lips and then walked out of the bedroom. Whitney and Ella entered as soon as he left. "Shut the door." Rebecca whispered. Ella quickly went to lock the door. Earlier, before Eric came, she was on the verge of telling them who plotted the abduction and why. She didn't know how she got home. She woke up this morning only to find herself on her bed. She had borrowed her neighbor's phone to call her friends. She didn't call Eric because she wanted to tell her first friends and listen to their suggestion. It would be stupid of her to tell Eric who took her. She stared at her friends who had curious looks on their faces. "Axel was behind my abduction." She revealed. Ella and Whitney exchanged looks before looking back at her. "Are you kidding me?" Ella found it hard to believe. "I was also shocked to see him. But believe me guys, Axel was the one behind everything. He..." Rebecca paused when she heard the door creaking open. Eric entered the room, he was already putting on an apron. "I came to ask if Whitney and Ella care for some food, so I can make enough portion." He said. "That's so sweet of you, Eric." Ella commented. "Thank you, Ella. Whitney, how about you?" Eric asked. Whitney faked a smile. "Of course," She replied. "Okay, see ya soon." With that being said, Eric went out, shutting the door behind him. Rebecca faced Whitney. "You used to like him, what changed?" "He chose his sister over you!" Whitney half yelled. "I would have done the same. Why make a big deal out of it?" Rebecca was already getting angry. Whitney didn't say any more words, she only rolled her eyes. "That's enough, guys. We should be focused on why Axel abducted Rebecca." Ella chipped in. "He wanted me to stay there. He told me Eric wasn't a good person, and even though I do not know why he said that, I feel bothered." Rebecca explained. "Maybe Eric isn't really a nice person." Whitney muttered, just to her hearing. "Then how is it possible you are here? If he wanted you to stay, you wouldn't be here right now," Ella thought out. Rebecca was taken aback. If Axel really wanted her to stay, there was nothing she could do. But he respected her decision and took her back home. How did he even know her house? How was he able to access her apartment? Why did he abduct her in the first place if he had no intention of forcing her to stay? Many thoughts filled her mind. Her heart race increase rapidly as she stared curiously at Trent.“No. Of course not.” Trent replied quickly. She let out a deep breath.“Why would you think something happened to him?” Trent asked.“Because of your actions. It seemed you’re trying to cover for Axel by making me feel good.” She replied. Trent chuckled. “Axel is fine. He called me to bring you to the venue you’ll be having dinner.” Her brows lifted. “Why? Where’s he?” “Obviously a surprise for you… Less I forgot, happy birthday Rebecca.” “Thank you.” She managed to say, no smile on her face to back it up. “That wasn’t our plan. He would come home and we’ll go to the place together. I still don’t get why he still hasn’t come back home yet…” Without waiting for Trent to reply, she walked back into the room to pick her phone, and she dialed Axel’s number immediately. It was switched off, and her suspicions grew. She looked up at Trent who was already inside the room.“What on earth happened to Axel?!” She co
Rebecca and Axel could be seen seated on the bench in the garden, their fingers intertwined, with Rebecca leaning on his shoulder. They had been there for about an hour, gisting, laughing, and randomly stealing kisses. The place smelled heavenly and that was one of the reasons she insisted they stay there.“You’ve been wanting to go out for a long time…” Axel suddenly said, breaking the silence between them.“Yes.” She nodded.“We’ll go out today.” He revealed and her eyes widened.“Really?” she beamed. He nodded, and she didn’t waste time before wrapping her hands around his neck. “Thank you!!”Ever since the incident, Axel hadn’t allow her out of the house because he was scared Alessandro would do something stupid. He was concerned about her safety but today was her birthday and he wanted to make it memorable for her. He had booked the whole of a luxurious restaurant for tonight. It wasn’t safe out there but he would go with as many guards as he could.“I got you a dress. You
“… Happy birthday to youuuuuu.” Rebecca clasped happily before swiping her finger on the cake and licking the sugar off her hand.“Thank you.” She giggled.“Take a bite.” Kira urged, moving the cake extremely close to Rebecca. Rebecca shook her head. “I’m scared, what if you try to poison me.” She teased. Kira rolled her eyes. “I don’t have a death wish.” She said and they both laughed. “What is Axel planning?” Rebecca asked curiously. It was the morning of her birthday and Axel was the first to wish her. He sent her a text through the phone, and she was anticipating to see him so he would give her a birthday kiss. Unfortunately, she hadn’t seen him since the beginning of the day, and she knew he was planning something.“I don’t know. Even if I know, do you think I’ll tell you?” Kira smirked.“You won’t.” Rebecca shrugged. “I’ll go see for myself…” She took the cake from Kira and placed it on the table. “Thanks.” She winked and walked out of the room. As soon as she got o
Rebecca stayed quiet for a long moment after Axel’s confession. She needed the silence to calm her down a bit. Then she shifted slightly, enough to put a little distance between them. Not because she wanted to leave, but because she needed space to breathe before opening a wound that had never truly healed.“When you left,” She began softly, “Everything fell apart at once.”Axel’s arm tightened around her, pulling her back to him for comfort, and she didn’t try to move away.“I thought it was just heartbreak at first,” she continued. “The kind you survive by crying at night and pretending you’re fine during the day.” She shifted her gaze away from him. “Then I noticed something.”“I was sick every morning. Dizzy. Tired in a way I couldn’t explain.” She swallowed. “I didn’t understand it until a woman at the clinic looked at me with pity and said the words out loud.”She lifted her gaze towards him. “I was pregnant.” She watched as the colors on his face drained, and how his eyes d
Rebecca laughed heartily as Ella and Whitney briefed her about their funny dating experiences the past few months.“Maybe I should give up on love.” Whitney’s voice was heard.“Guys, the right person will find you, you just have to…” Rebecca stopped when she heard a knock on the door. She pulled the duvet to her chest, covering her bralette. “Come in.” The door opened shortly and Axel walked in holding a plate of fruits.“You’re done already?” She was surprised. It hadn’t been up to two hours since he left to the control room.“Yes. It was a slight issue.” He replied, dropping the plate on the bedside table close to her reach. “What have you been doing?”“Talking to my friends. Wanna say hi?” She asked. He shook his head and she chuckled.“Can I call you guys later please?” She spoke to the phone.Ella and Whitney both agreed and then disconnected the call. She dropped her phone and carried the plate from the table, placing it next to her.“Sometimes I feel you can read my mind
The name echoed in Rebecca’s head as she tried to remember the face of the little boy she played with years ago.“Danny…” The name fell from her lips before she could stop it. She couldn’t spot any resemble between him and the Danny she knew, only the eye color. While she stared at him with indifference, he stared keenly at her.“Are you sure he’s really Danny? Alessandro might be playing some trick.” She spoke up, looking away from him.“He is. We took him yesterday when Alessandro ran away, and we did all the necessary procedures to confirm if he’s truly the one and indeed he is.” Kira replied. Rebecca moved her gaze back to him and from the look on his face, she could tell he barely recalled their moment together, he was only four then.“Leave us.” She insisted.“I can’t.” Kira replied immediately. “Axel asked me not to leave his sight. You can do your lovely reunion here while I watch.” Rebecca took a step forward to the bed. “You’re right.” She took another step closer. “Y
