His bright blue eyes moved from her head to her toes, observing every feature of her. An almost invisible smile appeared on his lips when he spotted a butterfly tattoo on her left wrist.

"How have you been, Becca?" His voice was low and smooth. It was slow and deliberate, as if he was choosing each word with care.

Rebecca's skin prickled with goosebumps as soon as she heard his voice. For the first time in six years, she was hearing his voice again.

Her eyes moved shakily around him. He was no longer the cute young innocent boy she used to know, he had transformed into a dangerous handsome man.

He looked dangerous in the black tuxedo. And he had a dark aura around him. He had changed in those years, and she easily noticed it.

He took a step forward, and she moved back immediately. She couldn't believe he was the same man she used to love. He was looking so dangerous, and for some reason she was scared.

Axel's eyes darkened when he noticed the fear in her eyes. His expression remained stoic, but his eyes flickered in disappointment.

"Becca." His tone was soothing.

"My name is Rebecca!" She snapped, trying so hard to fight back the tears rushing down her cheeks.

Seeing him after those years brought back the memories of the past which she had buried in the deepest part of her heart.

She wanted to show him she had moved on from the past, she wanted to shove it in his face that he meant nothing to her anymore and didn't have the right to call her that, but her emotions betrayed her.

Her heart ached as she recalled what happened six years ago.

It was so painful, she couldn’t control her emotions. She didn't realize she was crying, not until she felt something warm on her cheeks.

As she stared at him, her hers darkened, the hatred in her heart rose and the fear she had for him disappeared.

She moved closer to him, and when she got to his front, she landed a slap on his face.

She staggered back immediately, regretting why she had hit him. It was a dangerous move. She didn't know if he was the same Axel she used to know. What if he hurt her for hitting him?

Her heart raced as she awaited his reaction, but surprisingly, he didn't move, neither did his gaze leave her.

"Becca." Axel called again, his voice becoming softer.

She watched as he moved towards her, and she unwillingly moved back. She didn't know why, but she was scared of being around him.

"Stay calm, okay? I won't hurt you." He soothed.

"You said that years ago, but you still hurt me." She chuckled dryly, trying so hard not to continue crying.

Axel didn't say any words, making Rebecca more hurt.

It hurt her to know he wasn't remorseful for what he did, he didn't even try to apologize. His silence meant more harm than good to her.

Tears welled up in her eyes, she didn't let them fall. She had to constantly remind herself that she had healed from the past. Or maybe she really hasn't.

"Are you the one behind my abduction?" She asked, trying to focus on the present.

Axel nodded his head in reply.

"Why?" The question left her mouth in a whisper.

"Eric isn't a good person." Axel replied.

Rebecca was taken aback. "How did you know my husband?" She questioned.

Axel's eyes darkened. "Husband? The last time I checked, you guys aren't officially married." He said instead, ignoring her question.

"All thanks to you." Rebecca scoffed. "How did you know my fiance?" She asked, rephrasing her question.

"Ex fiance." Axel dictated.

A deep frown appeared on Rebecca's face. "Eric is my fiance, and I'm going to get married to him when I leave this place." She ranted.

"You aren't going back to him." Axel stated, firmly.

"You do not have the right to tell me what to do. You do not own me!" Rebecca snapped, putting emphasis on the last words.

Axel took a step forward, and she didn't move back like earlier. She stood still, staring directly at his blue eyes, while he stared at her brown ones.

"He isn't a good person, Becca." He said, trying so hard not to give her full details.

Rebecca scoffed. "Are you? Huh?" She asked, but he didn't reply.

"Answer me!" She pushed his chest, but he still didn't move, nor did he say a word. It added to her anger. "Axel T Leonard, are you a good person?" She howled, using her two hands to push his chest this time around.

Axel stumbled a bit because of the force with which she pushed him, but all that still didn't make him say a word.

"You were the first guy I fell in love with. I gave you my heart, my soul and my body. You were the first guy that got in between my legs. I loved you with all my heart and soul, Axel. What did I get in return?" She stopped talking and laughed at herself.

She didn't break the eye contact she held with his gaze. She wanted him to see the pain he caused her, and her eyes did a good job of portraying it. After she was done laughing hurtfully, she continued. "You told me all we had was for fun. You reminded me of being a less privileged child that you can't be with. Now answer my question, are you a good person?"

Rebecca was disappointed when she couldn't find any flick of emotions in him. She couldn't tell what was running through his mind, his expression remained unreadable, even after she had just finished pouring out her heart.

Indeed, he had changed in those years. He wasn't the Axel she used to know.

"No, I am not a good person." Axel mumbled under his breath, finally replying to Rebecca's question.

With that being said, he turned away from her, facing the opposite direction.

The whole place became silent, only the chirping of birds could be heard.

She stared at his back, wishing she could see through him and find out what was on his mind.

"If you find happiness with him, then go be with him." He said all of a sudden.

"He is my happiness." She replied immediately.

She heard a dry chuckle from him.

She wanted to say something, but then she saw him reaching for something in his pocket, and when he finally took it out, he turned to her, holding a syringe.

Cold shivers ran down her spine. She didn't know what was injected in it, all she knew was that she was the victim.

She took a step back and wanted to run, but he grabbed her arm swiftly and pulled her closer to him.

His grip on her arm was so tight, his fingers were piecing her skin, making her wince.

Tears fell down from her eyes. "Please don't hurt me." She pleaded, her voice shaking

If it was a normal day, the whole place would be filled with grunts of men training, voices of them strategizing and planning their next mission. But today, it wasn’t like that. The whole place was calm, everyone was busy trying to get their best look, because today was a significant day for them. Their boss was getting married. Rebecca stood next to her window, watching everyone from there. She was still in her night robe and had no plans to change it anytime soon. Her eyes were swollen and the dark circle under her eyes was the first thing anyone would notice upon seeing her. They were all proof that she didn’t sleep last night. She didn’t have anything doing but she couldn’t sleep. She wanted it to be morning already so she would proceed to don Alessandro’s house, but she could only do that if everyone had left for the wedding. The subtle knock on her door made her turn. “Come in.” She muttered without thinking twice. The door opened and Axel walked in. Her brows knitte

She didn’t even know when he arrived there or how long he had been standing there.“Hello, Rebecca.” He flashed her a smile. “I didn’t expect you to get startled seeing me.” “I…I didn’t know you were behind me. I’m sorry.” She tried to smile but it didn’t quite reach her eyes. “I heard you came to visit Axel. Thought you would have left by now.”“How can I leave without seeing you?” She managed to chuckle at his word. “It’s quite late.”“Yeah. I’m staying over for the wedding.” Thomas said. His gaze lingered on her, expectant, waiting for her to ask. To his uttermost surprise and disappointment, Rebecca said, “Ohh. But it’s not holding here. Except you want go stay here over the night and

Rebecca’s lips parted, her eyes widened and before she could ask the question, Axel beats her to it.“How? Where is he?” Her heart was racing so fast as she curiously waited for Kira to answer.“It’s a long story. But he is here in Miami, closer than we think.” Kira revealed. “I have more information but I’ll only spill if you promise me one thing.” She looked at Axel, then looked back at Kira, wondering what it was.“What?” Axel inquired. He had kept his fork aside and placed his hands on the table. Kira didn’t immediately speak. She took a deep breath, obviously contemplating whether to go on or not.“There are things I did that is unacceptable and my request is that I go unpunished.”“Depends on the things you did.” Trent chipped in.“Not bad as you think.” Kira mouthed.“You do know I can torture the information out of you, right?” Axel spoke up, his tone fierce.“Axel.” Rebecca whispered, shaking her head slowly. “Don’t.” She whispered to his ear.“Let me handle this, pl

Axel crossed his hands as he stared at Rebecca who had her gaze focused on the painter that was tied to a chair with bruises all over his body. He knew she wouldn’t be able to unleash the rage in her eyes on him, she was too soft for that. He decided to just watch how she would get answers from the painter.“I can’t count the number of times Axel had cautioned me about trusting people easily, but still I fell for your trick and almost lost my life.” The pain in her voice was visible and he hated the fact that the painter could see her vulnerable.“Becca. Do not cry.” He didn’t whisper. “I won’t.” She replied immediately, taking a step closer to the painter. She could tell the wounds on him weren’t fresh, and an idea popped into her head immediately. She bent towards him and lifted his chin with her finger. “Remember me, right?” He didn’t say a word, and she took that as a yes.“The people who did this to you…” She trailed her fingers on the cut on his shoulder. “They were

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   Michael’s sin

Kira had her hands crossed under her chest as she walked around the control room, staring at each computer and surveillance. Standing beside her was Trent who was on a video call with Axel. Axel had told them about Danny and she pretended not to know who he was. She promised she would help him find him and she urged the team to get to work, meanwhile she was praying for them not to find anything. Trent moved the call from the phone to a bigger screen and she could see Rebecca seated next to Axel on the bed. Her brows raised but she was quick enough to masked her surprise, as they could also see her. She focused her gaze on Rebecca and they both stared quietly at each other through the screen. It was just a stare, but it had a meaning.“I found something.” One of the men handling the computer said. Kira turned immediately, forcing her breathing to stay steady. She leaned over the monitor and exhaled in relief when she saw the wrong man’s face pop up; someone older, unrelated,
