His bright blue eyes moved from her head to her toes, observing every feature of her. An almost invisible smile appeared on his lips when he spotted a butterfly tattoo on her left wrist.

"How have you been, Becca?" His voice was low and smooth. It was slow and deliberate, as if he was choosing each word with care.

Rebecca's skin prickled with goosebumps as soon as she heard his voice. For the first time in six years, she was hearing his voice again.

Her eyes moved shakily around him. He was no longer the cute young innocent boy she used to know, he had transformed into a dangerous handsome man.

He looked dangerous in the black tuxedo. And he had a dark aura around him. He had changed in those years, and she easily noticed it.

He took a step forward, and she moved back immediately. She couldn't believe he was the same man she used to love. He was looking so dangerous, and for some reason she was scared.

Axel's eyes darkened when he noticed the fear in her eyes. His expression remained stoic, but his eyes flickered in disappointment.

"Becca." His tone was soothing.

"My name is Rebecca!" She snapped, trying so hard to fight back the tears rushing down her cheeks.

Seeing him after those years brought back the memories of the past which she had buried in the deepest part of her heart.

She wanted to show him she had moved on from the past, she wanted to shove it in his face that he meant nothing to her anymore and didn't have the right to call her that, but her emotions betrayed her.

Her heart ached as she recalled what happened six years ago.

It was so painful, she couldn’t control her emotions. She didn't realize she was crying, not until she felt something warm on her cheeks.

As she stared at him, her hers darkened, the hatred in her heart rose and the fear she had for him disappeared.

She moved closer to him, and when she got to his front, she landed a slap on his face.

She staggered back immediately, regretting why she had hit him. It was a dangerous move. She didn't know if he was the same Axel she used to know. What if he hurt her for hitting him?

Her heart raced as she awaited his reaction, but surprisingly, he didn't move, neither did his gaze leave her.

"Becca." Axel called again, his voice becoming softer.

She watched as he moved towards her, and she unwillingly moved back. She didn't know why, but she was scared of being around him.

"Stay calm, okay? I won't hurt you." He soothed.

"You said that years ago, but you still hurt me." She chuckled dryly, trying so hard not to continue crying.

Axel didn't say any words, making Rebecca more hurt.

It hurt her to know he wasn't remorseful for what he did, he didn't even try to apologize. His silence meant more harm than good to her.

Tears welled up in her eyes, she didn't let them fall. She had to constantly remind herself that she had healed from the past. Or maybe she really hasn't.

"Are you the one behind my abduction?" She asked, trying to focus on the present.

Axel nodded his head in reply.

"Why?" The question left her mouth in a whisper.

"Eric isn't a good person." Axel replied.

Rebecca was taken aback. "How did you know my husband?" She questioned.

Axel's eyes darkened. "Husband? The last time I checked, you guys aren't officially married." He said instead, ignoring her question.

"All thanks to you." Rebecca scoffed. "How did you know my fiance?" She asked, rephrasing her question.

"Ex fiance." Axel dictated.

A deep frown appeared on Rebecca's face. "Eric is my fiance, and I'm going to get married to him when I leave this place." She ranted.

"You aren't going back to him." Axel stated, firmly.

"You do not have the right to tell me what to do. You do not own me!" Rebecca snapped, putting emphasis on the last words.

Axel took a step forward, and she didn't move back like earlier. She stood still, staring directly at his blue eyes, while he stared at her brown ones.

"He isn't a good person, Becca." He said, trying so hard not to give her full details.

Rebecca scoffed. "Are you? Huh?" She asked, but he didn't reply.

"Answer me!" She pushed his chest, but he still didn't move, nor did he say a word. It added to her anger. "Axel T Leonard, are you a good person?" She howled, using her two hands to push his chest this time around.

Axel stumbled a bit because of the force with which she pushed him, but all that still didn't make him say a word.

"You were the first guy I fell in love with. I gave you my heart, my soul and my body. You were the first guy that got in between my legs. I loved you with all my heart and soul, Axel. What did I get in return?" She stopped talking and laughed at herself.

She didn't break the eye contact she held with his gaze. She wanted him to see the pain he caused her, and her eyes did a good job of portraying it. After she was done laughing hurtfully, she continued. "You told me all we had was for fun. You reminded me of being a less privileged child that you can't be with. Now answer my question, are you a good person?"

Rebecca was disappointed when she couldn't find any flick of emotions in him. She couldn't tell what was running through his mind, his expression remained unreadable, even after she had just finished pouring out her heart.

Indeed, he had changed in those years. He wasn't the Axel she used to know.

"No, I am not a good person." Axel mumbled under his breath, finally replying to Rebecca's question.

With that being said, he turned away from her, facing the opposite direction.

The whole place became silent, only the chirping of birds could be heard.

She stared at his back, wishing she could see through him and find out what was on his mind.

"If you find happiness with him, then go be with him." He said all of a sudden.

"He is my happiness." She replied immediately.

She heard a dry chuckle from him.

She wanted to say something, but then she saw him reaching for something in his pocket, and when he finally took it out, he turned to her, holding a syringe.

Cold shivers ran down her spine. She didn't know what was injected in it, all she knew was that she was the victim.

She took a step back and wanted to run, but he grabbed her arm swiftly and pulled her closer to him.

His grip on her arm was so tight, his fingers were piecing her skin, making her wince.

Tears fell down from her eyes. "Please don't hurt me." She pleaded, her voice shaking

The day had started with her thinking the gifts and luxury was a dream, and she was excited it wasn’t. But right now, she really hoped and prayed this would be a dream. “Hello, my love.” The voice confirmed she wasn’t hallucinating nor dreaming. Eric was standing a few steps away, that same cruel smirk curling across his face, one she had hoped she’d never see again. Her stomach twisted, pulse hammering against her ribs “Love the surprise?” Her hands shook, clutching her bag like a lifeline. Everything she thought was love, surprise, celebration… had twisted into danger. Her heart wasn’t just racing. It was screaming terror “Eric?” She heard Kira’s voice from behind. Kira was also shocked. The whole thing didn’t make sense to Rebecca. Axel was supposed to be the one standing there, not her nightmare. She swallowed hard, bracing past her fear. She marched to where he stood and grabbed his collar. “Where is Axel? What did you do to him?” A flicker of disbelief crossed hi

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   The dinner

Her heart race increase rapidly as she stared curiously at Trent.“No. Of course not.” Trent replied quickly. She let out a deep breath.“Why would you think something happened to him?” Trent asked.“Because of your actions. It seemed you’re trying to cover for Axel by making me feel good.” She replied. Trent chuckled. “Axel is fine. He called me to bring you to the venue you’ll be having dinner.” Her brows lifted. “Why? Where’s he?” “Obviously a surprise for you… Less I forgot, happy birthday Rebecca.” “Thank you.” She managed to say, no smile on her face to back it up. “That wasn’t our plan. He would come home and we’ll go to the place together. I still don’t get why he still hasn’t come back home yet…” Without waiting for Trent to reply, she walked back into the room to pick her phone, and she dialed Axel’s number immediately. It was switched off, and her suspicions grew. She looked up at Trent who was already inside the room.“What on earth happened to Axel?!” She co

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   The dinner

Rebecca and Axel could be seen seated on the bench in the garden, their fingers intertwined, with Rebecca leaning on his shoulder. They had been there for about an hour, gisting, laughing, and randomly stealing kisses. The place smelled heavenly and that was one of the reasons she insisted they stay there.“You’ve been wanting to go out for a long time…” Axel suddenly said, breaking the silence between them.“Yes.” She nodded.“We’ll go out today.” He revealed and her eyes widened.“Really?” she beamed. He nodded, and she didn’t waste time before wrapping her hands around his neck. “Thank you!!”Ever since the incident, Axel hadn’t allow her out of the house because he was scared Alessandro would do something stupid. He was concerned about her safety but today was her birthday and he wanted to make it memorable for her. He had booked the whole of a luxurious restaurant for tonight. It wasn’t safe out there but he would go with as many guards as he could.“I got you a dress. You

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   Happy birthday, Becca

“… Happy birthday to youuuuuu.” Rebecca clasped happily before swiping her finger on the cake and licking the sugar off her hand.“Thank you.” She giggled.“Take a bite.” Kira urged, moving the cake extremely close to Rebecca. Rebecca shook her head. “I’m scared, what if you try to poison me.” She teased. Kira rolled her eyes. “I don’t have a death wish.” She said and they both laughed. “What is Axel planning?” Rebecca asked curiously. It was the morning of her birthday and Axel was the first to wish her. He sent her a text through the phone, and she was anticipating to see him so he would give her a birthday kiss. Unfortunately, she hadn’t seen him since the beginning of the day, and she knew he was planning something.“I don’t know. Even if I know, do you think I’ll tell you?” Kira smirked.“You won’t.” Rebecca shrugged. “I’ll go see for myself…” She took the cake from Kira and placed it on the table. “Thanks.” She winked and walked out of the room. As soon as she got o

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   Peace

Rebecca stayed quiet for a long moment after Axel’s confession. She needed the silence to calm her down a bit. Then she shifted slightly, enough to put a little distance between them. Not because she wanted to leave, but because she needed space to breathe before opening a wound that had never truly healed.“When you left,” She began softly, “Everything fell apart at once.”Axel’s arm tightened around her, pulling her back to him for comfort, and she didn’t try to move away.“I thought it was just heartbreak at first,” she continued. “The kind you survive by crying at night and pretending you’re fine during the day.” She shifted her gaze away from him. “Then I noticed something.”“I was sick every morning. Dizzy. Tired in a way I couldn’t explain.” She swallowed. “I didn’t understand it until a woman at the clinic looked at me with pity and said the words out loud.”She lifted her gaze towards him. “I was pregnant.” She watched as the colors on his face drained, and how his eyes d

  • CLAIMED BY THE DEVIL   The cut that always bleed

Rebecca laughed heartily as Ella and Whitney briefed her about their funny dating experiences the past few months.“Maybe I should give up on love.” Whitney’s voice was heard.“Guys, the right person will find you, you just have to…” Rebecca stopped when she heard a knock on the door. She pulled the duvet to her chest, covering her bralette. “Come in.” The door opened shortly and Axel walked in holding a plate of fruits.“You’re done already?” She was surprised. It hadn’t been up to two hours since he left to the control room.“Yes. It was a slight issue.” He replied, dropping the plate on the bedside table close to her reach. “What have you been doing?”“Talking to my friends. Wanna say hi?” She asked. He shook his head and she chuckled.“Can I call you guys later please?” She spoke to the phone.Ella and Whitney both agreed and then disconnected the call. She dropped her phone and carried the plate from the table, placing it next to her.“Sometimes I feel you can read my mind
