"What have you been up to all morning?" Nyall asks suddenly.

“I needed… something to do,” I tell him honestly, and he nods in response.

“You’re allowed to need that.”

Surprisingly I let out a light hearted scoff, “Try telling that to Fenric.”

"Oh?" He mutters in question, raising his eyebrows at me.

"And what makes you say that?"
