“We’ve been here for two minutes, and you still don’t know how to welcome an Alpha,” said the Black man standing beside Alpha Tren“t. His eyes shot Alpha Dane a dagger.

“I’m sorry, Brandon. The maids are on their way with the wine,” Dane replied, his voice unsteady; the aura emanating from them overshadowed him. He cursed their presence inwardly.

The Moon Claw Pack was once a district under the Fang Pack. It's Alpha Macho, who had ruled with fear. No one dared challenge him. Dane’s father had tried—and paid with his life. After his father’s death, Dane stopped at nothing but to destroy Macho and sought help from the cursed Alpha of Nightflame Pack, Alpha Trent. With Trent’s help, Dane brought down Macho, and since then, his pack has risen to lead the districts.

The presence of Dane’s blood ran cold. Trent never visited without a reason, and it was never a good one. He had never stepped into Moonclaw ever since the day he helped.

Alpha Trent’s Beta, Brandon, glared at Dane. Dane clenched his fists and swallowed hard, trying to keep calm.

“Wine?” Brandon growled. “Are you insane? Is that for the warriors who followed us? Or the driver? You were told—he drinks no wine. Only blood.”

“Blood!” Dane repeated, his gaze flicking to Alpha Trent, seated like a shadow of death itself. “I thought that was just a rumour…”

Brandon stepped forward and grabbed Dane’s collar. “What rumour?” he snapped, wanting to send him flying.

Alpha Trent could smell his Beta's anger. “He’s welcoming me for the first time. Be gentle with him. Tell him what to do,” he said coldly.

Brandon released him and said, “Bring someone decent for him to drink from.”

Dane’s heart pounded. It was true that he was a vampire. He wanted to stare at him but couldn't with the dark aura Alpha Trent released. No one dared to look him eyeball to eyeball.

His eyes voluntarily fixated on the ground as he clenched his fist tightly. He instantly developed a hatred for Alpha Trent for making him surrender to his power.

Brandon, seeing Dane frozen in place, added, “No maids. No elders. If the person is weak, get ready to bury them. Give him your woman. Let him drink from her.”

“My woman?” Dane repeated, horrified.

“No…” he whispered.

“You are reading to bring your pack to doom with your incompetence,” Brandon said, his tone dripping with sarcasm, but Dane didn't find it funny; he found it a threat.

His mind raced. Alicia, his mate, carried his child. Zora, his Luna, was bonded to him—if Trent touched her, the pain might kill him too.

Who should he choose?

He thought as he walked out of where he kept the visitors.

“No way, I must reject Zora; I need to break the bond.” He muttered and walked to Zora's room.

“What is it? Have you lost your way?” Zora said as soon as she set her eyes on Dane. She was stunned that he entered her room.

“Why would I? I am in my house and in Luna's room. We have an important visitor, and I would like you to welcome him,” he said with a fake smile on his face.

Zora scoffed, “Tell your mate to welcome your visitor. I have no time for this. As you can see, you are disturbing my sleep.”

“Zora, this is not the time for all these; the visitor we have is not ordinary. If he were, I wouldn't have bothered you. He is…”

Zora could see a hint of fear on her husband's face; since they had gotten married, she had never seen someone that Dane feared this much.

A smile formed on her lips as she sprung off from the bed. She thought of taking this chance to free herself; maybe the visitor was the help her mother-in-law talked about.

“I'm ready to welcome him. Where is he?” She asked with enthusiasm.

“The court,” Danes said with a cold expression.

As Zora was about to go out of her room, Dane drew her closer, but Zora quickly withdrew herself. He was disgusting to her.

“I just want to give you a hug,” he said, his expression unreadable.

“A hug? Have you lost your mind? You are disgusting. You stink of her scent. If you delay me further, consider I won't set out to greet anyone.” There was a hint of threat in her voice.

Alpha Dane clenched his fist tightly at his side—a clear sign he was irritated by what Zora had said. Whatever pity he once felt for her quickly vanished. He made up his mind: he would reject her.

"I didn’t know you hated me this much. For that reason, I’m rejecting you now." He tried to manipulate the situation. He knew he would feel the pain Zora was subjected to because they had each other's mark.

Zora’s eyes widened in shock and disbelief, her heart pounding in her chest. Something felt off. Why now? Why would Dane choose this moment to reject her? Was he hiding something?

"You want to reject me now? Unbelievable. Is there something about your visitor you haven’t told me?" she asked, fear etched across her face.

Dane knew Zora couldn’t find out the truth—not yet. He had to cover it up fast.

"You wanted this. I can see you don’t love me anymore," he lied, masking the truth behind cold words.

Zora shot her a condescending look; she didn't take his word for anything. “I'm going to greet your visitor,” she said and dashed out.

Brandon couldn't keep his emotions in check; Dane had been gone for more than fifteen minutes, and he hadn't shown up.

“It is indeed that alpha Dane is stupid; should I go and look for him?”

“No, let's see what he is up to; what you asked him may be beyond his reach,” Alpha Trent replied to his Beta.

A knock on the door made them stare at the door. Alpha Trent was stunned that someone was there and he couldn't smell her blood. Who is she?”

“Coming in,” Brandon commanded.

“I'm Luna Zora. My husband said I should greet you. You are welcome.”

Alpha Trent’s eyes darkened as he listened to Zora’s words. He couldn’t believe that Dane had tricked his wife. Just when he was about to react, the door creaked open again, and Alicia stepped in, her pregnant belly slightly swollen, holding a tray of wine in her hand.

“Who are you, again?” Trent asked, his voice cold, releasing his aura.

“I’m Alicia, Alpha Dane’s mate,” she replied, her lips curling into a smug grin.

Trent's eyes travelled to her stomach, and he clenched his fist; the bone of his hand clenching was heard.

Alicia, who had no clue who he was but wanted to make herself look her best before him, began to move closer with a light smile on her face, which showed her white teeth.

Alpha Trent was annoyed but maintained his demeanour as he kept his gaze fixed on Alicia, sensing something wasn’t quite right. As Alicia neared Zora, she purposefully shifted her weight, subtly crowding Zora’s space. Her foot brushed against Zora’s, causing her to stumble.

Zora’s eyes widened in surprise, her balance wavering. But before she could fall, Alicia’s own foot slipped on the slick floor, sending her tumbling forward; the tray of wine she was holding flew in the air.

The glass shattered on the floor, causing her to have a cut on her leg. The stench of her blood filled the air, which made Alpha Trent uncomfortable. His veins bulge, causing the flow of blood to be visible.

Trent’s eyes narrowed and caught

Zora was trying to steady herself. Trent swiftly was by Zora’s side, catching her arm just as she was about to lose her balance completely. His grip was firm but gentle, pulling her upright with ease. As he came in contact with her, his body became normal. His hunger for blood disappeared. He felt what he had never felt in his life before.

“Are you alright?” Trent asked, his voice softer, his protective instinct taking over.

Zora nodded quickly, though her eyes flickered toward Alicia, who was still on the floor, looking both surprised and a little too pleased with the situation. Trent could see the disappointment in Alicia’s eyes as if she had intended for both of them to fall and blame her for it, but she was embarrassed instead.

He stared at Alicia on the floor as he studied her, his expression darkening once again.

“Your blood is black; who dares offer me a carcass!” He growled; his rumbling voice sent a shiver down Alicia's spine.

She began crawling backwards.

Zora’s heart skipped a beat—she didn’t know what to expect. She stepped into the bathroom, which was as large as her bedroom back at Moonclaw Pack. If Trent wasn’t a blood-sucking bastard, this place would have been a dream come true. She was a gold digger; she had dreamed of building large wealth with Dane only for Dane to betray her with his mate. Her gaze swept over the expensive fixtures and glossy marble. She sighed. She had no idea how much pain she was about to endure under the vampire’s control. The Jacuzzi had already been prepared. Steam curled from the water’s surface. She dipped her hand into the soap as if she were checking her nightmare.Slowly, she undressed and sank into the warm tub. Memories of Moonclaw Pack washed over her like a wave. She wondered what kind of spell Alicia had cast on Dane or how strong the mate bond was to wish her death, and she burst into tears. She didn’t think anyone could hear her—not with the soundproofing in this luxurious prison. Her tea

Alpha Trent stopped behind her, so close she could feel the heat of his presence. He leaned in, and with a voice that vibrated with power and ancient rage, he said, “I am Alpha Trent, the alpha of the Nightfall pack. Who are you?” The weight of his name hit her like a curse. Her legs threatened to give way, but she forced herself to remain standing, barely.Dane had told her stories—how powerful Alpha Trent truly was. A warrior forged in blood, one who had survived countless wars.It was those battles that had changed him, twisted his fate. He wasn't just a werewolf. He was half vampire, half beast.Alpha Trent noticed how she was trembling; he leaned in and said, “Your husband offered to welcome me. I hope he tells you what I requested from him. A blood servant, and he offered you,”Zora couldn't say a word; she nodded in negation.“He said I should drain your blood in order not to feel the pain you will be subjected to; he rejected you,” Trent said, reading her emotions. Alicia began crawling backwards, fear engraved on her face, as she wanted to let her eyes meet Trent but she couldn't. The voice sounded familiar, but she couldn't look up to see who he was.“Who is he?” She muttered under her breath; her heart was thumping loudly. The tears that were streaming down her eyes were not pretentious. Everything about this man screamed danger, and her heart nearly came out of her mouth. She quickly mind-links Dane.“Mate! Please help, I'm with the visitor together with Zora. Zora told me to bring wine for the visitor, and I did,” she said to the mindlink.Dane could sense unease in her voice. Before he could ask if she was alright, Alicia had severed the link, causing Alpha Dane to panic. Though he felt no danger from Zora through the mark bond. But something was not adding up. His mate was in danger. He would have felt her pain if he had marked her; a werewolf couldn't mark two she-wolves at the same time. Since Zora had his mark. Alicia would forever b

Dane’s eyes turned crimson red as he stomped in. He rooted on the spot as he saw Alicia on the floor clutching her stomach. “Zora! What have you done to her?” He growled. Alicia, faking pain, raised one of her hands and said through her gritted teeth.“Don’t blame Luna Zora. I never wanted this. I begged her to let me go, but she refused. I told her I was pregnant, and she... she threatened to harm the baby. She did it, Alpha Danes. She hurt our baby.” Her words were laced with false tears, each one a knife twisting deeper into Zora’s heart.Zora’s world stopped. Her breath caught in her chest as the weight of what Alicia had said crushed her; Alicia was pregnant. For two years, Zora had been married to Danes, and she had never missed her period even once. They both desperately wanted a child; this resulted in carrying out many rituals. The ritual with the highest was the one on the last day that fell on their wedding anniversary. But Dane disappeared. He abandoned her because of th

  • CONTRACTED TO THE BEAST ALPHA   Chapter 4

It had been three months since the incident that damaged the relationship between Alpha Dane and Luna Zora. Things were not as they used to be. Alicia had moved into the pack three days after, and she had done so many things to make Luna Zora a villain.Zora didn't fail to perform her duty as a Luna. Despite the mating pain she endured every night, she still managed to pledge her humanity to the people of the Moon Claw pack.Zora was on an outing to give a second dose of the portfolio vaccine to the children in the pack. She went alone with her mother-in-law. Glenda has never left her side since the incident. She had suggested that Zora should run away, but she still couldn't do it without her son rejecting her.Mothers who gathered to collect injections began to murmur.“This is the second time Luna Zora is giving out children injections that Alpha Dane would be absent for. This is really bad,” one of the mothers said.“All these happened because they were never mated. I will never a

Tears streamed from her eyes as she held her stomach, unable to stand, as the pain both physical and emotional gripped her.The door suddenly burst open. Glenda entered, and Glenda's heart sank.Glenda stood frozen at the entrance, her face blank. Nothing could capture the disappointment she felt at that moment. Without saying a word, tears began dropping from her eyes. She cursed the day she’d given birth to Dane as she cried.Zora could barely stay upright. Lyliana could no longer hold her up, so Glenda rushed over to help.“Let’s get her to bed,” Glenda said gently, her voice laced with worry as she saw her daughter-in-law writhing in pain. They helped Zora to the bed. She collapsed, her body curling up as if trying to shield itself from the agony. She writhed in pain, her body twisting like a sheet of paper in the wind.Glenda watched helplessly, unsure what to do. Zora’s heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t believe her husband had just used an Alpha command on her, despite everything they had been through. Her tears wet the ground for her to walk as she followed her mother-in-law to the pack house. The memory of happy moments they had shared flooded her mind. Ten years ago, Zora was found lifeless by Alpha Dane and his mother, Glenda, as they were returning from nightfall Pack. Dane was only nineteen at the time, they were coming from the Nightfall Pack as they went to express their gratitudes to Alpha who helped them to win a war. They brought the unconscious girl home and nursed her back to health. The only thing she could remember was her name. It seemed her memory had been lost. "Thank the goddess, I finally found you!” Zora's husband exclaimed, his eyes locked on a red-haired woman entering the packed hall.Zora, standing right beside him, froze. Found who? No one had gone missing, at least not to her knowledge.Confused, she followed his gaze. The only person of note was a red-haired woman grinning from ear to ear beside an elderly Alpha, her father, Alpha David. The woman’s face beamed with excitement as she flashed a radiant smile in her husband’s direction.Today was their second wedding anniversary.“Who is this stunning woman? Why was her husband looking at her like that?”A wave of irritation and jealousy surged through Zora as she watched the woman, still smiling, make her way toward them.“Mate,” the woman whispered.A cold gust swept through the hall. Everyone turned to look at her then shifted their gaze to the Alpha Dane and Luna Zora.Colour drained from Zora’s face as her heart pounded violently in her chest.
