“Why should I go?” I retorted.

Lina Royale glared at me, but I didn’t flinch. I really had no idea why she wanted me to go to a ball with her son. It didn’t correspond with the maid duties one bit. I didn’t want anymore stress, and did her son agree to any of these? This were the issues and nothing less than that.

“Leonie, why shouldn’t you go?” She asked instead.

I looked down, and pulled my towel up slightly. This question was something I had to be careful about answering. Though, I’ve been a smart mouth for sometime now, I couldn’t afford to offend Lina Royale. She had proven to be quite helpful, and moving back to those heavy duty tasks would be quite painful.

I looked back up, and she was looking at me curiously. I had no idea what was running through her mind, and I wish I had an inkling, it would make things easier for me to respond to her questions.
