Chapter 9
That glass of wine I downed last night had kicked in about half an hour after I drank it making me lightheaded. I had Jacob tell our mom that I was tired and could we continue the conversation later. I was sure everyone agreed with me. We had stayed up into the late hours gaining details about our existence. It was about 2am when I finally feel asleep. When I woke, I felt like I had a peaceful night’s sleep, because not one nightmare reared its ugly head.
The sun was trying to come through my black out curtains, but it was unsuccessful. What was coming through was the feeling of warmth from the sun. It warmed my face as I lay on my pillows. I was still tired and contemplating getting up. I turned over and looked at the red lights flashing on my alarm clock, it was already noon. Wow I must have been tired,
Chapter 10 I excepted who our parents were and have had a wonderful time getting to know my family as a real family and not just foster parents. I can understand why they kept it a secret for this long. Wanting to make sure we were the right kids and all. Jacob has had me mentally blocked for three days now. I’m still not sure how he learned to block me if he has always been able to or just now learned how. Mom and I have been communicating using our new phones. We went shopping on Monday and mom got us the newest android phones. They are awesome. We must have over 3 thousand texts in just the two days we have had the phones. We got Jacob a phone as well, but he won’t open his bedroom door. So, I left it outside his room. I don’t know why we never thought of using text before. It would have been nice not to have to
Chapter 11 Angel is a super excitable girl. I was wondering how I could bottle her energy and sell it. I could make a fortune off her endless bouncing. So far, I have gathered that her and her mom are part of my dad’s pack. She also was just told how we were taken from our parents before we were born. She agrees with me when I told her I’m glad they found the birth mom dead. Her mom Fostina was with my mom during most of the surrogate issues. Her mom was my mom’s close friend. “So are you excited to go to school. It’s only a few days away now”? Angel said as she was looking through her closet. She wanted to give me a dress that she thought I would look amazing in. *I am very excited, u r my first friend, it will make this year better. * &n
Chapter 12 After having lunch with Angel her mom and my mom at her home, we said our goodbyes and left for our ride back to our home. The ride was mostly quiet. Mom did tell me about how she told Angel’s mom Fostina about me and Jacob. It was a secret our parents tried a surrogate. Fostina was a longtime friend of my moms, and she was trusted. She thought this way we could become better friends. This helped me to be able to talk to Angel about something If I didn’t want to go to my mom and not worry about keeping secrets that mom didn’t want anyone to know. But now that I have a mom and she is in fact my real mom. I didn’t want to keep any secrets I wanted full disclosure from now on. We were home in no time at all. I wanted to tell Jacob all about Angel and Fostina and everything I learned. I just hope he was in a good
Chapter 13 I don’t know how long I was sleeping for but when I woke up, I was in a large grayish white room that was dimly lit with florescent lights. I was on a padded floor the kind of padding they use in a gym. There was a window to my right. It was not very big at all about twelve inches across. I could see a reflection from the other side I saw several pairs of eyes looking at me. Mom and dad were watching me. They must have noticed I had woken up. A loudspeaker screeched in my ears causing me to wince and cover my ears. “Sweetheart, its mom. I know your scared, but I wanted to say we are here with you and Jacob he is in the next room over from yours. These are the rooms we use for changing”. I could hear mom over the speaker. But changing rooms. I don’t understand. All I had was a bad headache. I sat up more
* Jacob POV * I woke up in a large room that was way too bright. White walls appeared to come crashing down at me. It was too bright it was like the son shown in this small room just to make me angry. It made my eyes and head hurt. My ears were ringing. I closed my eyes to try and gain relief from the blinding lights. I covered my ears with my hands trying to lessen the noise. I was laying on the floor, which was comfortable, it was padded. I rolled over and stretched out trying to stay calm, keeping my eyes closed. I could hear mom and dad talking outside the walls it was muffled but I could hear them. “Mom, Dad” I yelled. Ouch that hurt my ears. They were very sensitive. It must be my wolfs hearing. &
Chapter 15 I didn’t have to wait very long because after about ten minutes, or so. I could hear Jacob barking and howling. I got up and begun to paw at the door and added a few whines, just to make what I wanted more prevalent. My nails were scraping the exterior. I must have looked like a dog that needed to go out to pee. But dad got the idea because he came over and opened the door. The door slide inside the wall just like mine did. As the door fully opened a dark black wolf with green eyes met me nose to nose. Jacob was far bigger than I was. His fur looked matted, and I could see some blood that was starting to dry. It made his black fur look even darker. He looked sad, his head was lowered, and his ears were pinned back. I licked his nose, and he took a step back. He looked even more scared now. Did he not know who
Chapter 16 I could feel the warm sun trying to get through my thick black out curtains. I knew it was morning because of the warmth of the sun and I could hear the birds in the trees. Wow that must be the super wolf hearing I have now. I don’t recall hearing birds before. The forest is back a way and I do not have any trees near my bedroom window. I still had my eyes closed I was scared to open them. I wasn’t afraid of what I might see but I wanted to hold off and enjoy the warmth. I don’t like to be cold, so I was enjoying the warmth of my bed. I stretched out arms and legs, oh wait I'm still a wolf. I never changed back. That must have been why I was so warm. I was laying on my side, with my arms and legs stretched out. I opened my eyes and looked around. Using my new eyesight, I could see my room and al
Chapter 17 After watching Jacob down a pound and a half of bacon to please his inner wolf, Dad and I went to his office to try and figure out our communication problem. I had never been in dad’s office before. His office was a typical man’s cave slash office. At least one that I have imagined one would look like. His office had dark wood wall paneling. A large dark wood desk sat in front of his window. In front of the desk sat two larges overstuffed dark brown leather chairs. There was even an antique globe of the earth that sat to the side of his desk. His walls were covered with bookshelves and filled to the brim. So many books that some laid on top of his desk and in piles in front of his shelves. Dad told me to take a seat in one of the chairs. I was so small in his chair, and it was so overstuffed I s
