Chapter Twenty Four
Chapter 24
I had all but my first class with Angel and Bobby. I was going to see them all day now and I did not know if this was good or a bad thing. Angel is my best friend and Bobby is my mate and I'm suppose I should get to know him. But they are all very distracting. I think I was so good in school before because I had no friends only Jacob. I spent most of my time with my head in my books. You can accomplish a lot when you don’t have friends or a social life. Now I don’t get to see Jacob at all during the day until our last class that that was physical education, or the torture gym Angel calls it.

Chapter 25 After art class with Mrs. Ruiz as our teacher I was ready for the day to end. I was so tired of Angels new attitude, and most of all I was tired of talking it was making my head hurt. Chapter 26 Bobby and I walked in silence down the schools hallways and out to the waiting limo. David was waiting there and opened the door for us to enter. I looked around and wondered why Jacob was not with us; my dad must have known what I was thinking because he spoke up.“Jacob will be fine. I do not need to take him from class because his life is not in danger.” Dad said sadly. Danger what danger, suddenly Bobby was holding me in his lap very protectively. I gave him a week smile and looked back at my dad. Almost as if on cue he knew what I was thinking again.“Robert is here for added protection, mates are very protective. Chapter 27 Bobby sat outside my bedroom door for over half an hour before he started to talk to me. He wanted me to open the door. But I lay on my bed in wolf form, I had no intension of changing back yet because my wolf was helping me cope and this form kept everyone out of my head without me trying.“Penny I don’t understand why you ran from me, can you please change back and talk with me?” Bobby kept talking to me.“Penny do you remember the night we met?” He paused and I shook my head yes even though he could not see me.“I remember like it was yesterday. Chapter 28* Jacob POV * After Angel took Penny and I to school I went to get my schedule then parted from the girls. I had all the opposite classes from my sister. I was kind of happy, this way it would force Penny to open up and talk to others, and I mean mind link with others in the pack. Dad said we could trust members of the pack so I knew any person she met here from our pack was safe. At least I hope he was completely right. My sister met her mate and most likely she would meet up with him today so I had to let her grow up some and move out from my shadow. Besides I had my own issue with my mate. Chapter 29 Bobby and I followed my father down the stairs to the living room. We held each other’s hands the entire way. It was nearly the evening by now and if I had to guess it was probably six in the evening. When we reached the living room the giant grandfather clock chimed six times making my guess correct. I was momentarily impressed with my guessing capabilities. Dad sat us down on the same couch as earlier. Mom looked more refreshed then last time we talk, she must have calmed down considerably during the time I was freaking out. I think my parents knew why I was upset and knew it would all end well. Chapter 30 Bobby chased after me, with much enthusiasm. His chocolaty eyes glowed with delight. I had to admit this was also much fun for me as well. The hall to my room was a long one and as soon as I made it to my door I felt Bobby’s hands on my waist. After that chase having his hands on my body lit me up like fireworks. Bobby took me by my waist and picked me up bridal style. We were still outside my bedroom. I had never been carried by a man before. Bobby opened my door with a quick flick and pushed it open with his foot. He took me over to my bed and laid me down. The entire time our eyes were locked on each other. Chapter 31 I lay in my bed just taking in Bobby’s smell, and thinking about the day before. I don’t think I moved all night as Bobby held me in his strong arms. It was the best night of sleep since the night Jacob laid down with me to keep the dreams away. Those very dreams that have haunted me for years I’d never wish what Mrs. D had done to my brother and I on anyone not even my worst enemy. Or what happened with the other homes we were in after Mrs. D died. But if it happened any different, I might not have the family I have now or the life I have now. Things happen for a reason, and I kind of rather like the outcome. Even if we are still trying to figure things out, I have powers and now we need to see what Jacobs’s powers are. I wasn’t ready for Bobby to find out how bad my past was or that I still had nightmares.

Chapter 32Jacob sat on his bed sipping his still hot coffee. He was looking towards his window in a daze when he spoke up. “When I followed Angel through the woods, I had no idea it would lead to the end of her life. She was only a year older than us and now she’s gone. I can’t believe she’s gone. How can a father kill let alone harm their own child?” I shook my head with my own discuss over the issue. I was going to miss her. She was my first friend ever and even if that last day was weird, I know knew it wasn’t her fault.‘You had no idea this would happen. But please try not worry. I had seen what you saw and I know that there was nothing you could have done. He moved to fast and there was no way you could run to her fast enough.
