SHOCKING REVELATION

Irene looked at the pictures in her hand, her hands trembling at the sight of what she just saw, she couldn't believe the truth that was unfolding right now she clenched her fist into a ball one could see the veins on her head almost popping out, with that she stormed out of the room in anger towards the garden.

“Robert Robert” she called from a distance on getting there she hurled the pictures at him

“What is this Robert?, I need an explanation.”

Looking at the pictures on the ground he felt a little bit scared but didn't show it. One is the woman that loves him unconditionally while the other one in the picture was the woman he loves wholeheartedly.

“So the mistress you've been seeing all this while is my best friend?....That was why you ditched our anniversary dinner to go and meet her” she yelled her voice almost cracking but that was nothing compared to the pain that she felt in her heart.

“I'm not going to deny the fact of what you saw but I love Alice so much and I mean it, nothing is going to stop us not even you” he said sternly

“W...what, Really!... it's... it's a joke right... right? she was awestruck by the sudden confession by her supposed fiance

“How bold of you two and to think that I did not suspect anything, You guys really amazed me I underestimated you both ”

“ I could give you a check to start up or something but—”

“Oh! Cut the crap! Then what happens to me? What happens to me? she yelled

“After all the years I struggled and put up with for years you are suddenly telling me that it went down the drain, like..... three years meant nothing to you, like I'm a —”

“Enough!Enough!, I've heard enough” he shouted angrily

“Put up with? What did you put up with?Did I ask you to put up with it,you chose to stay..... nobody forced you and get used to this news you heard, this is just the tip of the iceberg just before you hear it from the media,Alice is the love of my life also we're getting engaged , you just heard sooner and it's for the best” he said and walked out leaving the shocking Irene behind

“What! Love? Engagement? she said in a very shallow voice one filled with an excruciating pain, her hands slipped down the hem of her dress, tears welling up in her eyes it felt like her whole world had shattered.

The only man she had ever loved unconditionally, she even gave up her career in the process to support him but now all those things meant nothing to him and thinking of her best friend whom she had trusted all this years, who would have thought that she would betray her in this manner with that she slumped on the ground, her nostrils breathing in the fragrance of the nature but everything seems utterly useless to her.

Suddenly she dashed towards the study room where Robert was and calmly muttered

“What did I ever do wrong? Have I not been good to you?”she asked hoping that this was his test of love.

“Just tell me why... wh-y you choose her over me, why I– I suddenly meant nothing to you” she said hoping his reply would be filled with regret and remorse or maybe it's something they could work on

Robert sat up, slouching in his chair and looked at the woman he once adored, her eyes had swollen up from tears and she was looking disheveled, rubbing his temple he said

“ You want to know why?”

“Y-es I want to know why, why we're ending up in such a crucial state”

“Okay I'll tell you why” he stood up and walked towards the door,closed it and stopped an inch away from her.

“ I have always loved you, patiently waited for you to give yourself to me but to no avail,you wouldn't even burge”

“What do you mean?”

“Do you know how torturing and disheartening to see you on your nighties and not been able to touch you, you could only kiss me, Do you know how turned on I get?..... , No you don't, I could only admire and stare at your curvy shape from afar but I couldn't get close, you look beautiful but not as classy and well dressed as Alice”

“All these lies and betrayal is because of that?”

“No not just that darling, Alice could satisfy me with all I want, her soft touch and her unending moan that echoes till dawn, her slim waist that —”

“Enough! please, I don't want to hear it I've heard enough” she muttered faintly with her hands quivering, she subconsciously stepped back and it dawned on her that there was no going back, he had gone too far to love her the way he used to, all those thoughts of her was just a fantasy that would never come true, staring at the man she once loved her tears flowed down freely.

“ Oh darling wipe your tears, you shouldn't be crying over trivial matters ,let's just break up officially cause I can't get together with a low life like you, the height I have reached right now I'll be needing a competent woman by my side and that's where my ever loving Alice comes to play”

“You mean the height I took you to?”

“Well, you won't be maintaining the position anyways so it's of no use who made who, it's the game of life”

“Okay it's alright” she said grabbing the knob of the door there's no use crying or been bitter over spilled milk, Just then Robert spoke from a distance.

“She's pregnant for my child, I just thought it's best for you to know at firsthand before finding out through the media” he said and sat down on his seat.

The hands on the knob twitched, Irene tried her best to control her feelings and went out of the villa . she just needed to clear her head— not long after rain started pouring down, walking down the street feeling empty she thought about how she always wore the nighties he bought for her cause he said he liked it, how she stopped her career to be supportive the tears dropped down her eyes uncontrollably.

The rain was pouring down uncontrollably so she decided to find a shade close to a store just then she ran into someone.

Alexander gaze darkened at the sight of the pitiful woman that bumped into him, he had always hated physical touch and now someone bumped into him.

“Are you blind?” a deep voice resounded through her ears then she raised her head up.
