Death is better

Lisa's heart was pounding in her chest as Adrien's rage erupted like a volcano.

“I’ll just let you know what’s really up. You sure don’t know what I’m up to and what exactly you’re into.” Adrien said to himself silently in his head, making him give out a wicked grin.

She tried to explain herself, but the words got stuck in her throat, as he yelled at her, his voice like thunder in the small room.

She could feel the pressure building around her, suffocating her, making her feel small and helpless.

“Not again.” She said to herself.

"Please, Adrien, just listen to me," Lisa pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper.

“Listen? Well I’m listening. I’m ready to hear another one of your excuses. You’ve tried so hard to speak but you haven’t, I think you’re the one who’s hesitant. The lies you’re trying to process, how about them? Guess it’s not so easy when the confrontation comes this sooner than you had anticipated!” He rapped, not giving her a chance to even prover she wasn’t up to anything that bad.

He wouldn’t wouldn't listen at all, and he wasn’t even ready to. He was like a wild animal, consumed by his anger and ego. He towered over her, his eyes blazing with fury. She could feel his breath hot on her face as he leaned in close.

"You belong to me," he growled, his words sending shivers down her spine.

"You do what I tell you to do, and you answer me any time I ask you to."

Lisa's fury rose within her.

“How dare this man speak to me like this? I know my worth and I know I’m not so cheap that I can be dragged on the floor. How can he even think he’s fit to murder my confidence? I don’t think I can keep this up!” He mind said to herself.

She was her own person, not some possession to be owned and controlled. She was starting to feel like she would do something, might be very bad, she wasn’t sure, but she sure knew she had to do something soon enough.

"What do you want from me?" she demanded, her voice rising in anger.

"What is it that you don't want me to do? You’re so full of yourself, you think you’re best at everything but it’s actually the opposite. Have you ever felt any empathy for anyone? Ever? I wonder!” She yelled on top of her voice.

Adrien’s face scattered immediately, confused… or rather, shocked at how she had dared to say such words to him. He tilted his head to digest what had just happened properly and he narrowed his eyes…

“What?!” He asked almost silently.

“Well… I’m, I did…” she tried to say, but nothing meaningful found its way into her head at that point. Before she could even think of any response, Adrien had cut in.

Adrien didn't listen, his voice rising even louder.

"You have no idea what you're talking about! You think you can just say whatever you want to me? You belong to me, Lisa. You do what I say, when I say it!" He stepped closer to her, his body towering over hers.

Lisa's breath caught in her throat as Adrien advanced towards her. She could feel her heart pounding faster and faster as his words sunk in. She tried to stand up straight, to face him with a strong will, but her legs felt like jelly beneath her.

"I belong to you?" she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper.

"What kind of a person says that to someone?" She asked, after managing to call up all the courage that remained in her fragile system.

Adrien sneered at her, his lip curling up in disgust.

"The kind of person who knows what they want," he spat.

"And what I want is you, Lisa. You belong to me and you will do as I say. I’ll repeat that as much as you have to hear it!" He continued.

Lisa's eyes widened in fear as Adrien suddenly took some steps towards her.

Lisa stumbled back a step, her eyes wide and frightened as Adrien's anger grew more and more intense.

"I-I didn't mean it like that," she stammered immediately she realized the gravity of what she had just said, trying to make herself heard over his shouting.

"What did you mean then?" Adrien demanded, his face twisted with fury.

"You know damn well what you said, yeah? You were also very conscious when you said it, as much as I was yeah?" He asked, in  the rhetorical form.l

Lisa's mind raced as she tried to come up with the right words to defuse the situation.

"I just meant that I needed some space," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I never meant to hurt you or disrespect you. I think you’re getting this wrong."

Adrien scoffed at her words. "You always do this, as much as I’ve known you even though it’s not been long. And I’m never wrong." he spat.

"You say one thing and mean another. You're always trying to push me away."

"I'm not trying to push you away," Lisa protested, her eyes filling with tears. "I just need some time to figure things out."

Adrien's expression softened slightly at the sight of her tears, but his anger still simmered just below the surface.

"You know I can't give you that," he said, his voice low and dangerous.

"Why not?" Lisa asked, her voice shaking. "Why can't you just let me breathe for a little while? I’m human as well, a wolf but also a human. I need to have some peace."

"Because you belong to me," Adrien replied, his tone possessive. "You're mine, Lisa. And you do whatever I tell you to do. What part of that don’t you understand?" He asked.

Lisa's eyes widened in horror as his words sunk in. "I don't belong to anyone," she said, her voice trembling. "I'm my own person."

Adrien stepped forward, his eyes blazing with fury. "You're mine," he repeated.

“No I’m not! Give it a rest! I’m not! And I’ll never be! Leave me alone!” She yelled on top of her voice out of reflex.

Lisa's heart was pounding in her chest as she yelled back at Adrien, her words sharp and biting. She refused to back down, refused to let him control her, but at the same time she knew she had only caused more trouble. at all these… her defiance only seemed to make him angrier. In an instant, he was rushing towards her, his hands outstretched like claws.

Lisa tried to run, but Adrien was too fast. He caught her by the arm and yanked her towards him, his grip tight and unyielding. She could feel his breath hot on her face as he pushed her up against the wall.

"Listen to me," he snarled, his eyes burning with fury. "You belong to me. You do what I say. Should I tell you that again?"

Lisa's chest heaved as she tried to catch her breath. She felt like she was suffocating, like the walls were closing in around her. Adrien's grip on her throat only made it worse.

"Please," she gasped, her voice barely audible.

"Let me go. You're hurting me, please."

But Adrien only tightened his grip, his fingers digging into her skin. Lisa could feel the edges of her vision start to blur, and she knew that if he didn't release her soon, she would pass out.

"Say you belong to me," Adrien demanded, his voice low and menacing.

Lisa shook her head, her eyes wide with fear. She could feel her throat closing up, making it almost impossible to speak.

"I belong to no one," she whispered, her voice almost unheard.

Adrien's grip on her throat tightened even more, and Lisa felt like she was drowning. She could hear her own heartbeat pounding in her ears, like the steady beat of a drum.

She tried to fight him, tried to break free, but he was too strong. All she could do was crawl in fear, begging him to release her.

"Please," she whimpered, tears streaming down her face. "Let me go. I'll do whatever you want. Just please let me go."

Adrien finally released her, and Lisa collapsed to the ground, gasping for air. She could feel her throat throbbing with pain, and her body was shaking with fear.

As she looked up at Adrien, she knew then that she could never be with him. He was too dangerous, too unpredictable. All she could do was get as far away from him as possible, and never look back.

But even knowing that very certainly, she knew there was almost zero chances for her to do so. That was another thing she knew as a certainty. She might never be able to break away from this fate of dreadfulness.

“Sometimes, death is better. Certainly, death is better.” She said to herself.
