Elena's POV:

I haven't seen Jake after last week's dinner. I stayed busy in completing my college assignments and tried not to recall his words that he whispered in my ear before leaving.

But here I was thinking about him and his words "Princess, you're playing with fire". I felt a shudder ran through my body and I closed my eyes. He was always pushing through my walls that I construct around my mind to stop myself from going crazy. I couldn't stop thinking about him. It was so easy not think about him when he wasn't here. I was trying to push my feelings back because he was happy with Hanna. She was the girl he wanted in his life, not me. She was the one he cherished and felt connected. Now, my stupid mind knows that she's not here anymore and I can be with the man I loved from afar.
