Chapter Thirty Nine

Elena's POV

"I'm sorry," I mumbled.

She shook her head in a dismissing manner.

"I found the job in the restaurant and through that, I met Carter. We became acquainted as he was the regular customer of the restaurant. We started to make small talks. Later, I found out that he was stressed, his business wasn't going smoothly and his married life was disturbed."

I noticed that knew he was married before she got in a relationship with him.

"In years we became friends, he would rant about his day to me while I hear him. We had a huge age difference but we kind of liked each other's company. He was the first man to talk to me with affection, I was falling for him. I didn't want to rescind his marriage life, but somehow he became my savior from all the hurt. Our friendship turned into an affair when we started to seek comfort in other ways."
