" Esmeralda," Titus voice had called from over the phone, "Esmeralda," I muttered to myself.

Titus only called me that when he was up to something not good, Esme he'd call me whenever he wanted to show off to his friends that my name had the same beauty as my face.

I'd called him earlier this afternoon to announce that I was done with my last paper for university. No doubt I'd pass, I'd been a straight-A student since freshman year. That added to another one of his pride.

" She's the perfect girlfriend," he'd say to all of them and I always blushed in his love for me until I realized I wasn't his perfect girlfriend at least to some extent.

I'd waited in line for four hours to get the 'lover's cake', it was popularly said that whoever got to have a taste of it with their other half, would be together forever.

Finally, I was handed my cake, inscribed on it, "Will you be my first" I could see the red blush on the baker's face seeing what I'd asked to be inscribed on it.

" Thank you," I said before walking away, heading to meet Titus.

The glares from the old Lady beside his room should have been enough to warn me about what I was about to see but they weren't a physics or chemistry problem I could solve in a minute.

I gave a curt bow and headed into the dorm room, and from a distance, I could hear the loud moans and groans of two people. I'd thought he was watching porn again, but who'd watch porn on loudspeaker. Only Titus could, so I shrugged and went ahead with the cake in my hand.

The loud banging and the sounds of moaning got louder as I got closer but I refused to assume so I took the keys out and unlocked the door to the worst image I'd ever seen.

On our bed, my pink duvet was Titus and my step-sister Raina stark naked. The moans were from Raina while the groans were from Titus. My legs wobbled and the cake in my hand fell to the floor unapologetically, it's loud sound doing nothing to bring me out of the trance I'd fallen into.

The shock on both their faces was only there for a brief moment, it was as though they knew I'd find out eventually but not in this manner.

Neither of them made any attempts to cover their bodies and I just stood shocked and appalled.

" Can you get out, we're in the middle of something," Raina said, my eyes shifted to her and nothing but a victorious look spread across them.

" Titus," I called but he shrugged his shoulders and stood up, his penis dangling in between his thighs.

"Get out Esme," he said after Raina.

" But, but why, why'd you do this Raina, I spoke, my voice shivering with unidentified emotions.

" Because, Esme, you've always seen yourself as a saint while I'd been the black sheep of the family, mom's always yarning about how beautiful and intelligent you're."

Every fucking person Esme, everyone has always overshadowed me." She yelled at me pointing her hands while her breasts dangled down heavily from her chest.

" Don't heat baby, we need to reserve your strength for later," Titus spoke leaving my front to go back to her.

" But I haven't done anything, Raina, you're the one who's always getting the good things, mom never prioritizes me, when was the last time I wore anything good, I'm the one who had to work to fend for all of us and if at all, I get anything for myself you're always taking it, be it my shoes, my dresses, bags and now my man," I spoke the last word with my tears coming out as I choke.

My head was banging like the sound the two of them made Before I interrupted, and I fell back into the mush of cake that had fallen to the ground.

" But Titus, I'd been honest with you, has never gotten together with anyone except for you, why Couldn't you choose anyone else, instead you chose Raina, my sister?" My voice came out more like a whimper.

" Because Esme, you haven't done anything for me, I'm a man, Esme, do you know how many times I've had to watch porn And jerk off to my hands, I've to Esme watch my friends brag about how their girl got sore from having sex with them, and how great their blow jobs were. But you Esme, I've gotten nothing from you.  He said as he held my duvet around his waist.

" How dare you say that Titus, I did your assignment, stood out at night for you to get concert tickets for you and your friends, I'd made meals for you, taken you to dinner with my own fucking money, I took you out, bought you meals and every fucking piece of clothing you've was brought by me," I said with tears rolling down my face.

" I didn't ask you to do any of those Esmeralda," his words were accompanied by the loud rumble of thunder.

"I never asked you to do any of those, you do them because you wanted me to reciprocate." Because you've never gotten the love of a man Esme that was why you hung so tightly to me." He said and I watched as he poured it all out, he had never wanted to be with me, but he knew I was gullible, and a good ATM.

" Get out Esme, I don't want you to ruin the mood for Raina and me, he said Again, mashing his legs into the cake on the ground, he opened the door and threw me out of the room despite the pouring rain outside.

" Titus", I screamed from outside the room, stranded, heartbroken, I stepped out into the rain, whatever was going to happen should happen.
