The perfect kiss

SERENA’S POV

I exited the office building, hugging my documents close to my chest with Kaden walking in front of me. Our final meeting regarding the upcoming court case had just concluded.

I was still a bit annoyed by Cameron’s words last night and maybe he deserved what was coming to him. As I reached the parking lot, I spotted Kaden leaning against another one of his cars, his sleek black Bentley.

These freaking rich billionaires, changing cars like clothes.

"Need a ride?" he called out.

I walked over, a little surprised to see him waiting. "I didn't think you were going to offer me a ride again considering how quiet you were yesterday," I replied.

Cameron had been thinking something happened yesterday but in real sense, our car ride home had been unusually silent.

Kaden gave a small smile and I caught sight of that dimple again that made my belly do a flip. He nodded towards the passenger seat. "It's getting late, I don't want you waiting around for a cab"

I wasn't one to turn down a convenient offer, so I climbed into his car. As Kaden pulled out of the parking lot, I buckled my seatbelt and studied his profile. His eyes were focused intently on the road as usual, giving little away. I inhaled the subtle scents of vetiver mixed with oud that lingered around him and it was oddly comforting.

As we drove, I decided to try and draw him out of his shell a bit. "So are you always this quiet, or was something on your mind yesterday?" I asked lightly. He didn't respond at first, leaving me wondering if he would ignore the question.

After a moment, he finally spoke. "Just going over details for the case. Making sure we have all bases covered.Cameron deserves a come back for his cocky attitude that drives me nuts sometimes.”

I nodded."There must be more to you than just work. What do you do to unwind when you're not preparing for a trial or within the four walls of your office at the company?" I prodded.

Kaden slowed the car as we approached a crowd up ahead, ignoring my question. As we inched closer, I could see an accident had occurred, emergency vehicles flashing in the dusk. The road was blocked off. He pulled over with a sigh. "Looks like we'll be here awhile."

I peered out the window, taking in the scene. "Do you know another way around?" I asked him.

He shook his head thoughtfully. "The long way would add at least an hour, and it's getting dark. Not the safest option." His eyes met mine as he continued. "My loft is just up the street. We could wait there until they clear the road, if you don't mind the detour."

The idea of spending more unexpected time with him both intrigued and unsettled me."Alright, let's go to your loft then," I agreed.

He nodded and eased the car into a side street, maneuvering expertly through back routes I didn't know existed. Within minutes he parked outside a sleek high-rise building.

We took the elevator up and I found myself glancing curiously at the sleek black door to his penthouse loft. When he inserted the key and swung it open, I felt like I was stepping into another world.

"Wow," I breathed, taking in the spacious yet cozy interior. Floor to ceiling windows looked out over the sparkling skyline and the rest of the space felt warm and inviting. "This place is gorgeous."

He gave a small smile, pulling off his coat. "Thank you. It's my little getaway, especially when I need to escape my brother's constant presence." He hung our coats in the hall closet before gesturing for me to follow into the main living area.

My gaze drifted over the walls, taking in the framed artworks. "You have impressive taste. These pieces are exquisite."

"Thanks again.Make yourself comfortable, I'll grab us some drinks," he said, disappearing briefly into the open kitchen.

I sank down onto the buttery leather sofa, gazing out at the lights. Kaden returned and handed me a glass before settling onto an armchair, long legs stretching out before him while he poured us some sparkling wine.

"You wanted to know how I unwind. Truth is, on some evenings you'll find me right here.”

"Do you have an artistic side, Kaden? These paintings are incredible."

His lips curved into a gentle smile,"I do have a rather active imagination," he replied. "When I find moments of free time, I like to put my thoughts on paper."

“That’s amazing,” I remarked,my mind momentarily drifting to my own talent. I had always been passionate about painting, but it was a talent I had to put aside if I wanted to be the best lawyer in the state.

“So you’re a writer. What kind of writing?” I inquired further.

He leaned back, his fingers tapping thoughtfully on the armrest."Fiction, mostly. Short stories, sometimes attempting longer works.”

I was surprised by this creative twist.

"I'd love to read something of yours sometime, if you're comfortable sharing." I smiled warmly.

“Sure thing.”

The day slowly started to darken and while we talked,we started to get hungry and so we had food ordered and delivered to the doorstep.

As I began gathering empty glasses, Kaden followed me into the kitchen. "You're a guest, Serena, let me handle that."

I smiled lightly. "It's the least I can do and I don't mind helping." My fingers closed around a glass in the sink just as a stray disposable cup slipped from the counter, bouncing to the floor.

I set the glass down and bent over to retrieve the cup. That's when I felt it - the hairs on my arm standing on end as a warmth swept over my back. Kaden was right behind me, close but not touching.

Rising slowly, I turned to see his deep hazel eyes lingering on my face before moving to my shoulders and afterward down to my body. I breathed in sharply, recalling that I was wearing a body hugging blue dress and twisting down like this, directly before his face was giving him an exceptionally hot view.

He came closer and my breath caught in my throat at our sudden nearness, his compelling gaze keeping me rooted to the spot.

He took the cup from me and set it on the sink while he moved his fingers to my cheek, looking down at me. He looked so fucking handsome and I was sure I was forgetting how to breathe at this point. I tried to listen to the song by H.E.R playing through the speakers softly but all I could hear was my heart beating so fast.

“You did that on purpose didn’t you?”

“Did what?” I asked softly.

“To give me a perfect view of your perfect rounded ass?” He leaned in and whispered against my ear. “You’re playing a dangerous game,Serena. You’re trying to seduce me aren’t you?”

“Well I- I just tried to—“ I trailed off.

Lost in the charged connection, I wasn't sure who closed the final bit of space. All I knew was the tender brush of his perfect soft lips against mine.My eyes drifted shut as Kaden kissed me fully, one hand gently holding my cheek.

I sighed softly into the kiss, fingers finding way to his waist to steady myself.

Then his kisses became more desperate and he moved his fingers to my neck. I was getting so lost and jolts shot through my arm and directly to the sensitive spot between my thighs.

This was so fucking hot! And then..his stupid phone rang.

When he pulled away,he rested his forehead against mine, his fingers still holding my neck gently. Then he fully let me go and excused himself. It was a bummer that kiss had to end.

Later, the question of where and how to sleep came. Kaden gestured towards a small, cozy bed tucked in the corner of the loft. "You can take the bed, Serena," he offered.”I would take the couch.”

I hesitated,"The couch doesn't look very comfortable," I remarked. "How about we share the bed? It seems like a much better option."

He agreed and minutes later,I was cuddled up with him in silence. I couldn’t sleep and all I could think about was my ass directly facing his cock. It made me excited and in few seconds,he was getting excited too because I could feel it getting hard and poking me.

But just as I was lost in my thoughts, a sudden torrent of rain began to pour outside, the heavy droplets hitting against the windowpane.

An icy chill filled the room, causing me to instinctively draw closer to Kaden, seeking warmth and comfort.

In that moment, when the rain fell relentlessly, he startled me by breaking the silence. His voice, low and intimate, reached my ears. "I know you're not asleep, Serena. What's keeping you awake?"

“Well, maybe it’s because I am sleeping right next to a very intoxicatingly attractive man,” I murmured.

He suddenly flipped me over, his eyes sparkling in the dim light. "It's getting colder in here. Let me take care of that."
