Chapter 4

Miranda surveyed her environment in search of the owner of the voice she had heard, she noticed that there was no single soul on the road except her, she'd was sure that she had heard someone's voice, was she hallucinating or what.

With a shrug of her shoulder, she continued walking, she hadn't taken less than two step when she screamed..

Two guys, masked with a black lining suddenly appeared from nowhere, their faces could be easily recognizable from the mask, if not for the near darkness of the night that hid their faces.

She panicked, her heart racing heavily, she had nothing on her except for her phone, she knew that they aren't going to be sparing her as they would make sure that they rip it off from her.

Miranda quickly took to her heels, running backward, while she prayed that they wouldn't end up catching up with her. She had barely ran away from that spot whe she saw two more guys cornering her.

She gave up the run knowing it was effortless, her breath hitched, as she sighed profusely thinking of what next to do.

They we're hoodlums and she knew that no amount of her pleas would get to them, she rolled her long flowing hair into a bun, deciding to take her stand and fight them off.

Growing up in the street had done nothing but thought her self defense, she knew that she wouldn't be able to take them all, but she hopes it would buy her time to run away from them.

Miranda raised her head up, motioning for them to come, she scoffed when she saw them exchanging a mocking glare. They'd had her underestimated already and she swore to fight her ass off. If there was anything she hated was getting underestimated, she had as always worked hard to be the best in whatever she was doing.

She bounced on my floor, curling her fist into a brawl and signaled for them to make a move.

The shorter of the hoodlum laughed, "Just give us what we want and we would let you go without a fight" he said walking slowly to where she stood.

Miranda scoffed, "You must think I'm a fool to give what you want without putting up a fight, You scoundrels! "

"Oops! She's acting feisty" he turned to look at his colleague, laughing mockingly and they also joined him in laughing..

"I don't hit ladies, but seems you wants it the hard way, I'm left with no option than to..... " his voiced trailed off as he charged at her.

One minute he was charging at her, the next, he was butt throw on the floor

With a flabbergasted expression, he lifted his gaze to hers and then slowly he backed away from her. Glancing backward, he glared at his peers and they urged him to keep on with the chase.

With a rueful look, he stood to his feet and charged again at her.

Miranda stood her ground, she observed his move and had it calculated. As he came for her, she dodge the blow he had aimed at her and rolled off to his back, where she gave him a fly kick straight to his head.

When the others saw what she had done to the short one, the remaining trio came after her.

She lunged at them fighting her best, she knew she wasn't going to be a match now that they're all after her. Still, she did all she could in missing their attack.

Miranda fought and in less than five minutes, she had them all sprawling on the floor.

She smirked, accolading herself for fighting so bravely, even though it turned out that they were not experienced and was just tailing for money.

She dusted her body and then with a hiss, she stepped on one's body body as she walked off.

Miranda had taken less than five strides when she felt herself being pulled back, she struggled in maintaining her balance and then turned back to face them.

To her dismay, the four of them were all on their feet looking at her as though they were so eager to eat her all up.

She pinched the bridge of her nose, they never learned and this time, she'd would make sure that she kick off their assess more than she had done before.

"You guys should back down because I barely have money to be able to pay for your broken bones, when eventually I have them broken" she said sarcastically and watched the fumed in anger.

"Oh! I almost forgot that it's a fight for defense for trying to raid me and not some others fight. So, y'all would be able to pay for the damages yourself" she grinned and motioned for them to come with her hands.

One minute she was standing waiting for them to come get her, the next she was flying in the air, dodging, sending fly kicks and delivering blows.

Time wasn't on her side, and by now, she'd would have been on her uncle's house already if not for them.

With the anger all put up together, she threw them on the floor.

She gave a sigh of relief as she already had them were she wanted. She'd thought that they'd backed down now, that she had them for a second time on their butts.

But she was wrong when she felt one holding on to her leg trying to stop her from walking away.

She was getting late, how could she explain to them that she had somewhere she was going.

In the mini estate where her uncle lives, they were several rules imposed among which was that no visitors were permitted once it's past eight pm.

Judging from how the hoodlums wouldn't let her go and the time she had spent fighting them off, she was afraid that she wouldn't be making it on time.

She really had to make it and talk with her uncle, running off was the only option she had left, she had to run away!

Miranda had barely taken her contemplation into consideration when she heard the blaring horn of a car, she turned to it's direction and saw the driver opening the car door.

The hoodlums immediately took to their feet once they had sighted the car.

Miranda let out a sigh of relief and had wanted to thank the driver for coming to her rescue.

Before she could walk down to him, he had already entered his car and no sooner, it was driving past her.

She noticed, the tinted black window at the back seat and then she reasoned that his boss must be the one inside.

Anyways, she still  needed to be grateful, she gave a smile as she wave her hand.
