  • Celestial Bodies: of Runts and Lycans   Chapter 5.2: Don't Let Me Go

Celeste's POVHe was silent for a second as his eyes glazed over. He's mind-linking someone. In less than a minute, there was a knock on the door before Zay peaked her head in, seeing us on the floor."Hi, Celeste." I gave her a small smile. Xavier helped me sit back on the bed as Zay pulled her chair closer. Xavier sat back on the chair he was using earlier. "Xavier told me you haven't heard from your wolf?" I nodded. "Is this something that she does, maybe? Perhaps she goes quiet sometimes?" I shook my head."Ancillary is one of my only friends in this world. She doesn't always talk on her own but she always answers me when I call to her." Zay's brows furrowed."Ancillary?""My wolf? That's her name.""Interesting. . ." I tilted my head in confusion. "It's just, most werewolves don't have a name for their wolf. They tend to feel one in the same. I only know one other werewolf who has a name for their wolf. I'd love to talk to you more about this at a different time, if that's okay?"

  • Celestial Bodies: of Runts and Lycans   Chapter 5.1: Don't Let Me Go

Celeste's POVThe wind was whipping through my fur as I ran, the sun shining through the tree tops and bringing a physical warmth to accompany the happy warmth I was feeling internally. I looked to my left to see Mom running beside me. She gave me a toothy grin and looked over my shoulder, her eyes the brightest I'd ever seen. I follow her gaze to my other side to see a somewhat familiar figure running beside me there. He's also in wolf form, standing taller than Mom and I. His fur is a light brown, sprinkled with darker streaks. His eyes are the most familiar part about him, a deep swirling brown. I realize upon looking into them that they're much like my own. Dad. Dad's here. . . Running with Mom and I. My chest fills with the happiest feeling I've ever felt.Clouds quickly fill the sky but we keep running, our path losing its light and clarity. The woods are no longer beautiful and cheerful but instead dreary and frightening. Mom and Dad stop their running, I skid to a stop as I to

  • Celestial Bodies: of Runts and Lycans   Chapter 4.2: Mates

Xavier's POV"Alpha, you may want to wait outside." I snap my head towards Zay, a loud growl rumbling in my chest. She narrows her eyes at me. "Fine. But I need you to calm down and stay that way." She takes another one of the paper towels and sprays it with some liquid before pressing it to the cut on Celeste's head. Celeste's eyes open wide and a loud cry leaves her lips, tears threatening to fall down her cheek. She pushes herself forwards but I put both hands on her shoulders, keeping her still. I kiss her cheeks as the first tears fall. "I'm just sterilizing the wound. It's not too deep but it's pretty wide. I'm thinking she'll need stitches." That's when Celeste freaks out. She shoves herself away from Zay with a strength I didn't know she currently carried. Celeste lands in my arms."Sshh, it's okay. I'm right here." She grabs my shirt, crying into it. "Zay, is there anything you can do to calm her down? Needles apparently scare her." Zay furrows her brows, thinking for a secon

  • Celestial Bodies: of Runts and Lycans   Chapter 4.1: Mates

Celeste's POVI stared at him in disbelief. "M-mates?" I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before. The way he phrased things, his comforting scent, the tingles I've never felt with anyone before. Looking back, I have always known about mates but I can't recall ever asking or being told about any of the things one might experience with their mate. It didn't seem right. He's an Alpha. I'm just a runt. Why would the Moon Goddess do that to him? I'd also full heartedly believed that I wouldn't get a mate. Or that maybe they had died. I knew it was illogical but. ."It's okay, little one. There's no need to be scared." I pushed myself off his chest, biting my lip as I bumped my leg on the bed. I glance up at Al- Xavier, confusion and worry probably written clear across my face. He pushes himself up gently, as to not move the bed too much. "You do know what that means, right?" Oh yeah, cause I'm a rogue so I must not know things. Nonetheless, I nod; pain shoots down my spine from the ac

  • Celestial Bodies: of Runts and Lycans   Chapter 3: Little One

Celeste's POVThe word rang out around the forest, vibrating off tree trunks and rattling branches. Despite being a terrifying volume, I felt my ears perk up as if trying to take in every ounce of sound possible. The rain and coconut smell got stronger and, despite the pain, I found my head moving up to find the source. My eyes widened. The most handsome man I'd ever seen was standing not twenty feet away from me. I felt my eyes widening as I took in his tall, tan, and muscular frame. He was shirtless, letting me take in a jaw dropping six pack and a v-line leading down to his basketball shorts. He had a mop of brown, slightly curly hair that reminded me of a stuffed animal I faintly remember from my childhood. The strong muscles in his chest and shoulders were tense as he took in the sight of the clearing with the other man, the wolves, and I. It seemed as if I were invisible at first, his eyes not quite seeing me behind these much larger figures. Then, his eyes land on me. Oh Goddes

  • Celestial Bodies: of Runts and Lycans   Chapter 2: Mine

I wake up, a slight headache ringing as the sun shines brightly in my brown eyes. It's probably from crying all night. I yawn and move away from the stinging sunlight. Looking around me, I notice that it must still be early morning. The sky was an awakening orange. The birds are chirping away in the treetops. "The birds wish to say good morning to you," I quote one of the few things I remember Dad saying, "Say good morning back, dear Celestial." I look down, taking note that I shifted back some time in the night. I blush bright red as I take in my naked state. Wolves tend to be comfortable with nakedness as it tends to happen when shifting back and forth. I, however, have always been self conscious of my body. I was also scared. I shuddered thinking of the past.I push myself up, taking note of the soreness in my body. Yea it's not exactly comfortable to sleep in a wolf's position in a human body. I probably couldn't stay shifted with all the energy I spent last night. Last night. . .
