It all started when I was 6.Life was cozy. Dad was one of the top-ranked warriors of our pack and Mom was one of our healers. I don't remember much from before the attack but I remember being Happy. Mom said I was never very social but that she and I would often play in the gardens before going to meet Dad for lunch.Every other night, Dad would go on patrol until the early hours of the morning. I would wait for his howl before going to sleep every night.So that's what I did. I heard his howl, felt Mom kiss my forehead, and snuggled into my thick blankets to drift away. The moon was still shining brightly in the sky when I was awoken by a harsh shake of my shoulder. "Celeste!" My eyes popped open and sleepily took in the form of Mom. I wake up, a slight headache ringing as the sun shines brightly in my brown eyes. It's probably from crying all night. I yawn and move away from the stinging sunlight. Looking around me, I notice that it must still be early morning. The sky was an awakening orange. The birds are chirping away in the treetops. "The birds wish to say good morning to you," I quote one of the few things I remember Dad saying, "Say good morning back, dear Celestial." I look down, taking note that I shifted back some time in the night. I blush bright red as I take in my naked state. Wolves tend to be comfortable with nakedness as it tends to happen when shifting back and forth. I, however, have always been self conscious of my body. I was also scared. I shuddered thinking of the past.I push myself up, taking note of the soreness in my body. Yea it's not exactly comfortable to sleep in a wolf's position in a human body. Celeste's POVI stared at him in disbelief. "M-mates?" I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before. The way he phrased things, his comforting scent, the tingles I've never felt with anyone before. Looking back, I have always known about mates but I can't recall ever asking or being told about any of the things one might experience with their mate. It didn't seem right. He's an Alpha. Celeste's POVThe wind was whipping through my fur as I ran, the sun shining through the tree tops and bringing a physical warmth to accompany the happy warmth I was feeling internally. I looked to my left to see Mom running beside me. She gave me a toothy grin and looked over my shoulder, her eyes the brightest I'd ever seen. I follow her gaze to my other side to see a somewhat familiar figure running beside me there. He's also in wolf form, standing taller than Mom and I. His fur is a light brown, sprinkled with darker streaks. His eyes are the most familiar part about him, a deep swirling brown. I realize upon looking into them that they're much like my own. Dad.
