~Maxim~

I watch Geoffroy drive off in his car, heading to wherever he’s going. I’m waiting on my little friend to let me know that the coast is clear so I can get in and get my wife. I will have to take her back to Alpha Montgomery because I can’t keep her with me. My pack will be the first place they look, and then my hard work will be for nothing.

I’ve been waiting since the early hours, not really knowing when I would get that call. I wanted to wait in the hotel, but it needs to be a quick snatch-and-grab. I can’t sit here and wait around to get caught. If I snatch Alayasia and then go back to the hotel, I’m cooked. My phone rings in my pocket, and I answer without looking at the caller ID. “Yeah.”

“Ah, son-in-law.” My heart skips a beat. I pull the phone from my ear and look at the screen. It really is Geoffroy, so I need to be smart about this.

“Hi, sir. What can I do for you this morning?” His chuckle is deep and menacing.

“Not what you can do for me, but it’s what I can do f

  • Changing Her Fate   Extending a Hand

~Houston~I was perfectly fine before, I swear. Actually, I was enjoying watching this asshole get put in his place. I’m sure he thought that we would have no choice but to let Karis go, but that isn’t the case. He may act like he’s unbothered, but I know he’s pissed as hell. I was fine until he mentioned Zara. Fury like no other floods my system as his words settle over me. His granddaughter?! He’s looking for his granddaughter? He’s looking for the child that he never cared about, never acknowledged?! How the fuck does that work? She’s our pup! He can’t have her! He can’t be anywhere near her! Don’t worry, Colby. I’d rather die first than let him near her. We will keep our pup safe. This doesn’t calm my wolf, but I didn’t expect it to. I slowly turn toward him, my fists clenched at my side. I said before that I’d go after him, and I meant it. I don’t care if I die attacking him, as long as I get to take him with me. “Granddaughter?”“Yes, if you remember, Alayasia had a daughter.

  • Changing Her Fate   Backup Plan

~Geoffroy~These pups are funny. As if I hadn’t noticed the mindlinking after I dropped the bomb. Okay, maybe it was a dud, but they don’t know that. The truth is that I have no idea if she’s pregnant or not. I want her to be, and I plan to make it happen if it hasn’t already. I just figured that I’d tell them that, so if they were thinking of standing against me, they’d realize that they have no footing to do so. I checked my home surveillance. I saw the images of this Gamma with my girl. There was no audio, but I didn’t need any. I saw the way he looked at her when she was and wasn’t looking. He wanted her, and I saw it all over his face. I don’t know if she’s here or not, but I know what I saw, and that’s why I’m here today. I figure if she’s here and they think she’s pregnant, he’ll send her away, not wanting to raise another man’s baby. The door slams open, making everyone jump. I won’t lie, and I say that I wasn’t startled as well. I didn’t think anyone else would be invited t

  • Changing Her Fate   My Heir's Mother

~Houston~I slowly walk toward the front of the packhouse, not looking forward to our pending visit. I really don’t like this man. Alpha or not, I’ll take him in a fight. Whether I win or lose, I will feel good about the licks I get in. “It’s about time, Killa. I thought I was going to have to send in the warriors to pull you out.” I roll my eyes and position myself next to Tyrice. “There’s no need for the dramatics. I had to get Zara home and settled. Besides, I don’t really want to see that asshole anyway. It’s a waste of my time.” Tryice turns and looks at me. “I know how hard this is and how much you don’t want to do this. I just need you to be by my side. Be my Beta and let's get him out of here as quickly as possible.” I sigh and nod. “Where’s our Gamma?” As if my words have powers, the front door flies open, and Jakob comes barreling out. He stops next to me and straightens out his clothes. I chuckle and shake my head. “Freshly showered, huh?” Jakob smirks. “Just in case, y

  • Changing Her Fate   Ending the Marriage

~Maxim~I was leaving, I swear I was. After that phone call, I was going to go back home and try to come up with a plan that would force Geoffroy’s hand and make him let me see her. On the way out, though, I just had this pull to go back. I was smart about it this time. I stopped outside of his territory and had my driver park. I left on foot to go through the woods. I figured I would get right up to the border and try to catch a glimpse. I was trying to find my way through the woods to a border that would be close to the packhouse. I never thought I’d end up face-to-face with the exact person I was trying to see. The moment I noticed her running away, I knew I had to stop her. It didn’t take much to knock into her, causing us to both fall and tumble. I got up before Alayasia, feeling a sting in my side. I ignore it because I can just have Alayasia heal me on our way home. I don’t know when I decided to take her back with me, but I did. She’s running away, so she must want to leave

  • Changing Her Fate   Escape?

~Karis~I stare down this pathetic woman who has no qualms about getting into it with a child… a disabled child at that. I couldn’t believe it when I walked in and heard the back-and-forth, but then again, given who it was, maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised. I have no idea why they keep that woman around here, but it isn’t really my issue to solve. Her eyes are on me, and she’s fuming. I actually find it a bit funny, but I won’t be horrible and laugh in her face. I just want her to leave the child alone. “If there’s nothing else, maybe you should get back to your task. Weren’t you washing dishes?” If looks could kill, I swear I would be six feet under already. I wait for her to respond, because I know it’s on the tip of her tongue, but she doesn’t. She huffs and spins, turning to walk back to the sink. I turn my attention to the little angel, gently sitting beside her. “Are you okay?” “Yes, I’m fine. Thank you for helping me.” I push a stray strand of hair behind her ear. “You

  • Changing Her Fate   Vs Child

~Shiloh~It hasn’t been a week of kitchen duty and I’m already fed up. These bitches think they’re better than me, and I can’t imagine where they got that from. I’m a warrior, a top warrior at that. If anyone is better than anyone else, it’s me. I’ve been so pissed with Jakob since he put this ridiculous punishment on me. I tried to complain to Tryice, but he said that Jakob has the authority to make this a thing, and he won’t go against him. I told him that damn new girl needs to be punished for touching me, but he ignored me. I would have ducked the job, but I know that they would just rat me out. Besides, I still get to see Houston a few times a day. I guess that’s the bright side to this entire mess. As much as I want to blow this off, I want to see Houston even more. I sigh as I wash another dish. I swear this has to be some sort of setup. There’s no way there are this many dishes every day, every meal. I bet they have a camera set up somewhere, watching me. They are probably
