Nikolas sighed for the umpteenth time in the day. After being busy the whole day, he returned to his house in Yakima but was restless. He had received the money that Brandon owed him. It only meant that he would have to free Brooklyn now. His whole body protested against it. No, he wouldn’t free Brooklyn ever.
‘She’s mine!’ his mind chanted like always.
He lay on his bed and conjured up different plans to force Brooklyn to stay but nothing worked. Would he have to free her forever? But where would she go? Who would protect her? Deeply worried and desperately thinking of a way to stop Brooklyn, Nikolas lay awake all night, tossing and turning on his bed. He would wrap up his work and leave Yakima at the earliest. What if Brandon took her away from him?

Brooklyn smiled in her sleep. She didn’t want the dream to be over! She pressed her soft lips to his in sweet surrender making Nikolas lose all semblance of control. His mouth immediately seized hers in a desperately intense kiss that rendered her breathless. Soon his large hands were on her, clasping her tightly to his body. Brooklyn sighed against his mouth and threw her arms around his neck, stroking his hair tenderly. It urged Nikolas to grab her cheek and tilt her face in such a way that he could kiss her more passionately. There was a strange restlessness in his body as if he wanted to devour her mouth completely. His hot lips burned hers and delved deeper into her mouth making her gasp and moan with pleasure. His tongue played havoc with hers eliciting a sweet response that blew his senses out. In her sleepy state, Brooklyn tried to match his passion, making him groan more with need.&ld
Brooklyn followed Brandon into the tastefully decorated apartment, her eyes wide with astonishment seeing the luxurious apartment where she’d be staying now. She wondered why Nikolas allowed them to stay here instead of at Brandon’s friend’s place. Walking around, she explored the apartment while Brandon talked to Edgar. There were three bedrooms with panoramic views of the whole city. She chose a corner room for herself that overlooked the garden area of the condominium. There was a small walk-in closet although she didn’t possess many clothes.“Have you chosen this room?” Asked Brandon, walking inside.“Yes, I love it,” said Brooklyn with a small smile on her face as she walked out onto the small balcony attached to her room. Brandon followed her and stood beside her, staring at the garden below and
Nikolas repeatedly read the note that Brooklyn left for him. His eyes were glued to the words, Your Brooklyn.“If you're mine, why did you leave me, Brooklyn?” He whispered, his voice cracking with the effort it took him to speak. His heart was heavy as lead, his throat choked with unshed tears and he had no idea why he felt so heartbroken. It felt as if his heart had been wrenched away and taken to San Francisco. Ever since she had boarded the bus, his eyes had followed her till the bus had completely disappeared from his sight. The rest of the day had been a waste as he hadn't been able to do anything but sit in Brooklyn’s room and miss her immensely. He had given Kathy leave since he wanted to be all alone.Although he had sent all Brooklyn’s stuff to her along with t
Brooklyn completed the household chores quietly while Brandon spoke to Ryder on the phone. Although he had tried hard to convince her to accompany him, Brooklyn was adamant. She wouldn’t leave San Francisco at all. At last, Brandon gave up and asked Ryder to get tickets for just the two of them. He disconnected the call and turned towards Brooklyn.“The flight is at 3 o’clock in the morning. So I’ll be leaving tonight and staying over at Ryder’s parents’ house with him. It would be easier for me as his dad’s driving us to the airport,” said Brandon. Brooklyn nodded.“Okay, send me a message on reaching,” she said, feeling a little sad that Brandon wouldn’t stay with her.“Stop being so stubborn, Brooks. You know I’ll be very wo
Brooklyn stood in front of the mirror inside her washroom to strip and take a shower. After Brandon left, a sense of loneliness gripped her heart and she just had her dinner, cleaned up, and walked into her bedroom to sleep. The sense of uncertainty was killing her. She had no idea how she would get a job in this new city full of strangers. However, she knew she had to since she couldn’t be dependent upon Nikolas forever. He might have provided for her once but what would she do when it was all finished. She needed a job immediately. She slowly took off her top and was about to unbutton her jeans when something sparkled around her neck, catching her attention. Looking closely, she gasped with shock. It was Nikolas’s chain that he always wore around his neck. How did it crop up around her neck all of a sudden? It wasn’t there last night when she changed to bed! Her eyes widened and h
Accepting the call, at last, Brooklyn held the phone to her ear, her heart beating wildly with apprehension. “Hello, who’s this?” she croaked with fear.“Hey, it’s me, Ryder. I just called to say that we’ve reached LA,” said Ryder excitedly.“Ryder? Oh, how did you get my number? Where’s Brandon?” Asked Brooklyn, feeling relieved.“Brand just rushed to the washroom. He gave me your number to inform you. So are you missing me?” Asked Ryder making Brooklyn frown.“Why would I? Good to know that you’ve reached. Ask Brandon to call me later. Bye!” she said, disconnecting the call. She picked up her clothes and turned to go out of the closet when she collided with Nikolas&rsq
Nikolas picked up his plate and stormed into the kitchen after dropping that bombshell upon her. Brooklyn followed him to rinse her plate. She was in a dilemma now. How could she return with him? All the other employees would judge her and call her names. They would mock her as Nikolas’s wh*re and attack her character behind her back. No, she was better off here. She wouldn’t go back with him.“We can pack up and leave immediately if you don’t have any other work here,” said Nikolas, turning towards her after completing his job. Brooklyn gaped at him, completely taken aback by the suddenness of his decision.“I don’t want to go back, Nikolas. I want to stay here,” she told him in a soft voice, expecting him to react vehemently. Nikolas looked stunned, not having expected that answer from her.
Brooklyn blushed to the roots of her hair. No, it couldn’t be true. She hadn’t dreamed of Nikolas last night. He was just teasing her. “I was not. Maybe you were the one, dreaming!” She whispered breathlessly, his face was too near to even breathe.Nikolas was a little taken aback by her answer but he composed himself quickly and thought about her retort. “Hmm, I always do,” he said as a slow smile spread over his face and he left her and went around to the driver’s seat. Brooklyn was dazed by his answer. What did he mean by that? Did he mean to say that he always dreamed or he always dreamed of her?Nikolas started his car with a smug expression on his face, his body alive with a strange sense of excitement. Just the presence of her beside him was enough to kindle a fire that had been lying dormant inside him for
