VOL 2 : THIRTY NINE : DANTE

The bullet shot from the pistol froze in mid-air. I was shocked.

A familiar raven entered with the sound of its flapping wings through the window and relief washed over me. Finally, Malphus was here.

Malphus sat on the gold railing of the staircase at the side and croaked. A different voice spoke in my head.

“I am transferring some of my powers to you.”

The bullet fell on the floor with a clink and Aisel noticed the raven. Malphus used the time-freezing spell but it appeared more powerful than the one I used. But Malphus told me he couldn’t do magic.

Then, how?

Before Aisel would make a move, my body slid down to the floor and I could move freely. My palms tingle and a bright blue light emerge on my hands.

“Don’t morph it into a weapon. Throw the ball on Aisel,” the voice said. It sounded deeper.
