*Sarah*

The following day, I woke up as early as possible, but unlike before when I would wake Andrew up so that we could get ready together, have breakfast together, and also leave for work together, I didn't wake him; instead, I simply took my bath, prepared breakfast for myself alone, and when I was done eating, I took my car and left for work.

Getting to the company, I had just entered my office when I heard a knock on my door.

"Come in," I instructed as I sat down, and with that, the door of my office burst open, and Scarlet, who was my personal assistant and the person who I trusted the most in the company, walked inside.

"Good morning, ma'am," she greeted me as she walked into the office.

"Yes, good morning, Scarlet. How are you doing?" I asked her.

"I'm doing good, ma'am. What about you?" She asked me in return.

"I'm doing good too," I said to her in reply. "So what's my schedule for today?" I asked her.

"Well today, you have nothing much on your schedule. The client who you discussed with two days ago just reached out this morning, and he wanted to make an appointment for the contract signing," she said, and immediately I remembered about the client who I had discussed with two days ago. Even after discussing with Andrew, he was still having doubts about investing in our company. It was only after I discussed with him that he requested some days to think it over and get back to us, and just two days later, he has contacted us to sign the necessary documents.

"There's nothing else after that," Scarlet said to me after going through the file she was holding.

"Okay, but tell me, Scarlet, if I one day decide to leave this company and open mine alone, would you come and work for me or would you stay here?" I asked her.

"Of course I will come and work for you; after all, it's because of you that I'm here," she said to me, and with that I nodded in reply.

"Well, I'm happy to hear that. "Contact the client and ask him if we can meet in an hour's time," I said to her.

"Okay, ma'am, I will do that right away," she said to me before turning and walking away.

Just some minutes after she left, my phone that was in my bag began vibrating, and with that, I brought out the phone and switched it on only to see that what was making my phone vibrate was the notification of the new chat between Andrew and Tessa, and this time around, Tessa was proposing to Andrew for them to go out on a vacation, and when Andrew asked her what would happen if I began suspecting that both of them are seeing each other, Tessa told him to simply lie to me that he is heading to a business trip and that as usual, I woudn't suspect anything; after all, if I haven't suspected anything for the past three years, it's not now that I would start having suspicions.

Reading their chats, which now seemed like an entertainment to me, I couldn't help but smile, especially at Terra's confidence. If only both of them knew what I had in store for them, the last thing they would be thinking about is going on a vacation.

As these thoughts were running through my mind, an incoming call from Melissa suddenly popped up on my phone, interrupting the conversation that I was following.

"Hello Lissa, how are you doing?" I asked Melissa after picking up the call and placing the phone on my ear.

"I'm good. What about you?" She asked me.

"I'm good too," I said to her in reply.

"Well, if what you are saying is true, that means you have finally divorced that son of a bitch. "So when are we celebrating?" she asked me, and with that I sighed heavily.

"Well, unfortunately, I haven't divorced Andrew yet," I said to her.

"What?" Melissa's surprised voice sounded through the phone. "Sarah, you aren't planning to forgive him, or are you?" Melissa asked me through the phone.

"No, of course, I just have some important things to take care of before proceeding with the divorce. I will explain everything to you when I get to your place," I said to Melissa.

"Okay, no problem then. If not, I also have good news for you, so please come over as soon as possible," Melissa said to me, and at the same time, I heard a knock on my door.

"Okay, I will. I have to hang up now; I will call you later," I said to Melissa before hanging up the call.

"Come in," I said as the knock resounded once again, and with that, the door burst open and Scarlet made her way into the office.

"Ma'am, I just contacted the client, and he said that it is possible for you guys to meet in an hour's time; all you have to do is send him the address of where you want to meet him," Scarlet said to me.

"Okay, tell him that we will meet where we met the last time," I said to Scarlet.

"Okay, ma'am; by the way, will I accompany you this time around?" She asked me.

"No," I said to her in reply. "I have something else I want you to do for me," I said to her.

"Okay, ma'am, what is it?" She asked me.

"Get me the contact list of all the clients that I have discussed with recently," I said to her.

"Okay, ma'am, I will do that right away," she said to me and turned to walk away.

"One more thing," I said to her, and with that she stopped and turned towards me.

"Don't tell anyone about this, including what I told you earlier this morning," I said to her.

"You mean about you wanting to open your own company?" She asked me.

"Yes, exactly," I said to her.

"Okay, ma'am, you have nothing to worry about, your secret is always safe with me" she said to me before opening the door and walking away.

              * * *

"Wait just a minute, so you mean those two devils have been making a fool out of you for the past three years?" Melissa asked me with her voice echoing in shock after I recounted to her everything that I had learnt about Andrew and Melissa the previous night.

Actually, after meeting up with the client who I had an appointment with, I went directly to Melissa's place because at this very moment, not only was she the only one who I could confide in, but she had also told me that she had good news for me, and I needed to know what the good news was.

"Well, that's what I just found out, my dear friend, and to think that I also stupidly fell for their deceptions all this while," I said to Melissa before taking a sip of the drink she had offered me.

"Come on, Sarah, stop talking as if it was your fault. There was absolutely no way you could have known about this, not even me. I never for once imagined that Andrew could have done such a thing to you," she said to me, and with that I sighed heavily. "But what are you planning to do right now? The evidence that you have – will it be enough to get both of them arrested?" She asked me.

"Arrested? And who the hell said that I wanted to get them arrested?" I asked her with furrowed brows. "Seems like you have forgotten that the person we are dealing with here can easily afford the best lawyers in New York City?" I asked her.

"Ooh, I didn't even think about that," she said to me before taking a sip of her own drink. "So are you going to sit back as usual and be the calm Sarah who doesn't do anything even while she's being killed?" Melissa asked me with an inquisitive tone.

"Well, that would have been a very nice thing to do, but unfortunately for them, this time around, I'm not going to sit back and let them get away; I'm going to take back every single penny they have gained from me," I said to Melissa, who smiled at me.

"And what's with that creepy smile?" I asked her.

"Well, I never for once imagined that this day would come; I mean, the day when you will finally decide to take matters into your own hands instead of being the calm Sarah who always allows everything to slide," she said to me. "So do you at least have a plan?" she asked me.

"Yes, I do. First of all, I want to open my own company; afterwards, I will withdraw all my shares from Andrew's company, and mind you that I'm the one who has the biggest share in the company, so imagine what will happen when I withdraw all my shares from the company" I said to her.

"Well, that's a very nice way to start, but I hope you haven't forgotten about your illness. How are you planning to deal with it?" Melissa asked me.

"Well, I'm already looking for a cure," I said to her, and with that, she nodded in reply. "So what is the good news you wanted to announce to me?" I asked her.

"Ooh, about that, you know that I have a brother living in Switzerland who is a doctor, right?" She asked me, and I nodded in reply, as I remembered her brother Tony very well; we had even schooled together.

"Well, I called him and told him about your sickness. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the cure, but he at least has a treatment plan that can keep you alive and also reduce the symptoms of the illness for more than three months, and maybe during that time he can even find a cure for the illness," she said to me.

"Really?" I asked her with a surprised tone.

"Yes, but there's no assurance as to how long the treatment plan will sustain you," she said to me, and with that I sighed heavily.

"Well, as long as the treatment plan will keep me alive and in good health for more than three months, that's already okay with me; after all, I need to be in good health in order to make those two devils pay for making a fool out of me," I said to Melissa.‎

"Well, you are absolutely right; for someone like you who hates fighting back, you really need to be in good health in order to fight back for the first time," Melissa said to me, and at the same time, my phone began ringing. Bringing out the phone from my bag, I checked the caller ID only to see that Andrew was the one calling.

"Hello," I said to him after picking up the call.

"Sarah, where, where the hell are you?" Andrew's raging voice sounded through the phone, and knowing the reason why he was so angry, I couldn't help but smile.

"I'm taking care of something important," I said to him, not wanting to tell him that I was at Melissa's place.

"Well, I don't care about what on earth you are taking care of; come to the company right away," Andrew said to me, his tone still sounding angry.

"Okay, I will be there in some minutes," I said to him before hanging up the call and tossing the phone into my bag.

"Well Lissa, thanks for everything, but I have to take my leave now. It seems like someone is angry just because I dished out to him the same meal he has been serving me for the past three years," I said to Melissa with a wicked grin.

"Wait just a minute, you didn't..."

"Ooh, I did," I said to Melissa, preventing her from finishing what she wanted to say.

"I will give you a call when I get back to the company," I said to Melissa before waving her goodbye and taking my leave.

*Sarah* At night, I couldn't bring myself to sleep in the same bedroom which Andrew and I were sharing together. Every time that I stepped my feet into the room, the image of Andrew and Tessa making out kept replaying in my head over and over again.I was the only one who could tell how suffocating it was for me to take my bath and also change my clothes in the room. After having dinner, I took the things that I needed for the night and made my way to one of the guest rooms where I usually slept whenever Andrew and I had an argument or I felt like sleeping alone.I had almost dozed off when the door of the room slowly opened, and Andrew walked into the room and slowly slipped into the bed with me. Despite how uncomfortable I now felt with his presence, I still allowed him to lie down beside me; after all, I was going to doze off in no time. But suddenly, I felt his hand beginning to roam around my body. Without hesitating, I quickly grabbed his hand and shoved it away from my body."
