Alvaro
“Check the daughters of the gamma and choose the one who fits best then announce to the pack that I have found my Luna.” I ordered my Beta immediately he entered my office and he froze, his eyes widening with shock. I had been sitting in one position for more than fifteen minutes, the scene at the market still playing in my head because I was still in shock. I’d have the same reaction too if I hadn’t experienced the mind wrecking moment in the market. “What! Chosen mate? Alvaro— You swore you’d never take a chosen mate while your mate was still alive— You swore you’d wait for an eternity to find your mate—” Each word sent daggers through my heart, the last time I felt such pain was a year ago . “Alpha, what’s wrong?” Dhruv, my Beta and best friend asked, he could see the huge gloom in my eyes. “Are you okay Alpha? Is there a problem— Did you receive any threat again?” He asked and I shook my head without a word. “I’m fine—” I said, sounding very confident. “But you went to the market to address the people concerning the attacks.” He reminded and I sighed heavily. “I can’t wait anymore, it’s best to choose someone powerful.” I lied and he shook his head. “This isn’t adding up, Alpha Alvaro. Why the sudden change? Something has changed.” He pointed out with confusion and I slammed my hands on the table out of anger. I felt angry with myself, with the goddess, with everything. I was regretting ever waiting for my mate when I could’ve chosen a mate since. My wolf wasn’t able to say or do anything because I had silenced him, ever since he discovered she was our mate, he wanted to be with her, he fell in love with her and I’d be damn honest, there’s nothing not to love about her but she was an omega, not just any type, her family were the lowest omega in the pack and their origin isn’t from this pack, there are so many mysteries surrounding them. I knew about my pack members and it wasn’t the first time I was seeing her. I was forced to make a drastic decision in the market, choosing between myself and the pack. I did what any Alpha would do. “Alvaro—” “I found my mate.” I muttered and his eyes lit up with great joy, he was ready to start dancing. “She’s an omega, I rejected her. She can’t be my mate— The pack is under attack and we need all the help we can get, she’s an omega, she has nothing to her name, I can’t put her in charge of the pack, the elders wouldn’t accept—” “You rejected her? You rejected the woman you waited for your entire life?” Dhruv was shocked and I collapsed on the chair, his words hitting very hard, it felt like a blow had been thrown at my jaw. “There’s nothing I can do.” I replied helplessly and he shook his head vigorously. “No, there’s a lot you can do—” Dhruv was displeased but I slammed my fist on the tables. “The deed is done! There’s nothing I can do! Would you have me accept that omega as my mate and risk destroying my pack for my selfish desires? I can barely control the whole pack, the elders are still having two thoughts about me and you want me to accept her?” I thundered and he went silent. “To make matters worse, her family… They’re mysterious, rumors has it that they’re from the shadow pack… Instruct the guard to send a nurse to the house of the omega, don’t disclose who it’s from.” I ordered and he raised a brow. “Alpha! There’s been an attack again!” A guard announced as he rushed inside, terror and fright written all over him. I went into depression mode immediately, ever since the death of my father, the previous Alpha, the pack has moved from one attack to another, all my people living in fear. Never for once have I been able to sleep peacefully and today what was supposed to be a motivation for them to be strong and trust in me turned into a disaster. Honestly I was bothered, what would they take me for? Would they see me as a person who doesn’t keep his words? Damn, this is so terrifying. I stood up immediately, my heart beating very fast. “Those damned rogues!” I gritted out with anger. My wolf stirred at the thought of his people being under attack, he was filled with anger, pain and fear. This was my greatest fear, waking up one day to hear that my people were getting attacked or killed. “Tell me everything!” I barked, forgetting about everything, my whole attention was focused on my people now. “At the mountains, a group of wolves were attacked when they went hunting— Not just that, a feral wolf entered the market and killed a few omegas.” He explained, breathing very hard and my fists were clenched as a chill went down my spine. “The market?” I asked, just to be very sure and he nodded, making me breathe heavily as dread filled my heart. Adrenaline began flowing in my head and I had to hold the chair for a second, trying to gather myself together as one thought filled my mind. “Send all the guards to the market! I want that wolf caught, alert the clinic too, I want all of them rescued, none is allowed to die!” I barked, my heart racing tremendously because all I could think of was one person. “Alpha— What’s wrong?” Dhruv asked with concern as he noticed the change, I could barely feel my restless heart. “I’m fine, start preparations for the wedding immediately!” I instructed as I began walking outside hurriedly and he followed me. “Alpha— I’ll go to the market, you shouldn’t be anywhere close to the place, this could be a plot to capture you—“ Dhruv warned and I scoffed. “Alpha—“ “I don’t give a fuck if I get captured! I’d rather be captured and killed than for any harm to come to her! My damned mate is in that market and heads would roll if the slightest thing happens to her—“ I thundered with great seriousness and he let go.Ximena wondered if there was anything wrong and contemplated on how to act around Alvaro. She didn't mind and just walked. And the look on Simon's eyes? She knew something was up and she knew exactly what it was but that was something to deal with later, of course. Ximena gently followed the beta and anticipated the conversation with Alvaro. It was awkward enough that he got injured. She entered Alvaro's room, relieved to see him healing. "How are you feeling?" she asked gently. Alvaro managed a faint smile. "Better, but uneasy. The sudden attack... It's unsettling. Don't you think so?” “Well, yeah. That's right. There remains the fact that you and Simon were attacked and injured.” She added. “I'm so concerned about this. What do you think they want?” He asked and tilted his head back. She approached, concern etched on her face. "You should rest. We can discuss this later. You need your strength to present yourself to the pack later.” He shook his head. "No, something's
Alpha Alvaro maneuvered his sleek black SUV through the winding path, the hum of the engine was the only sound accompanying him, considering he was alone in the roads. His mind wandered through the thoughts of Ximena as he drove gently. The air somehow felt off and he sighed, still focused on the road. Suddenly, his eyes caught a dark smuggish object laid across the road ahead. Slowing down, he brought the vehicle to a halt and stepped out, his senses were on high alert. As he approached, he could sense the atmosphere increasing in tension and staring at the lifeless carcass on the ground, moulded with blood that's dripping nonstop, only made matters worse. He didn't panic and moved closer to take a good look at it. The figure looked exactly like a rogue wolf, its lifeless body bearing signs of a brutal fight. He took a few steps back to ease the awful smell that filled his nostrils. “How did this happen?” He thought to himself, clicking his fingertips, and still managing the
Ximena “Thank you so much, Alpha Alvaro. I had a great time yesterday. It was so perfect and beautiful.” I whispered, clutching the phone tightly to my ears. “That’s good, I’d do anything just to see you happy.” He replied and my heart jolted. Something was stirred inside of me and a huge smile appeared on my face. “I… I have to go now. I’ll see you later…” I whispered and ended the call immediately, my heart racing heavily. “Why did you end the call?” Xena was furious. “We both know why so don’t ask me.” I replied as I shut my eyes tightly. “Why? Why don’t you want him to ask the question? What are you scared of? He’s a great man.” Xena pointed out and I exhaled. “He’s a great man no doubt but I don’t feel comfortable, especially now that I’m wanted by two men. I feel there’s something that makes them want me and with all the ongoing issues, having a relationship with Alpha Alvaro is out of place.” I replied and she disagreed. “I feel
Alvaro I was dressed in a black tuxedo and I couldn’t stop staring at myself, trying to know if I looked good even though I had received numerous compliments from everyone. I wanted to be perfect for Ximena and her alone. I knocked on the door, my heart palpitating and after a few seconds, the door opened. My mouth dropped when I saw Ximena. She was dressed in a blue shirt gown with tiny straps. Her face sparkled and the minimal makeup highlighted her beauty. Her blue eyes sparkled the moment they fell on me and I couldn’t help but gasp in awe. She was beautiful, no, gorgeous! Stunning… Words couldn’t describe this beauty. She blushed slightly, her face going crimson as a smile appeared in her face. Her hair was packed up and tendrils fell at both sides. She looked hot with her hair let down but hotter with her hair packed. “Yo… You look stunning.” I managed to stutter after staring for almost a minute. “You look great.” She mumbled, unable to stop staring. We both sta
AlvaroIt was Ximena's birthday and I jumped out of bed immediately at 7 am. I was extremely excited. From her details I knew today was her birthday and together with her brothers yesterday, we had decided to throw her a surprise birthday dinner party. It was a small party for family and friends. I knew Ximena wasn’t a lover of huge gatherings hence my conclusion to make it small and private.“Dhruv… Are you still asleep?” I mindlinked to Dhruv.“Alpha… Isn’t it too early…” Dhruv groaned, it was obvious he was just waking up.“The earlier the better.” I replied and he groaned.“Ximena isn’t aware I’m having a sleepless night for her. I’m sure she’d be asleep now but I’m forced to wake up. She isn’t half as excited as you are and it’s not your birthday.” He complained and I chuckled.“It’s a good thing you’re up. Now come to the pack house, let's start the preparations!” I replied and cut off the mindlink.I walked down, smiling softly as I hummed songs under my breath. I couldn’t stop
XimenaI was heading to the field and strangely, Xena suggested we pass through the quarters meant for warriors.I was complaining bitterly as to why we had to pass through such a long journey when I overheard a heated voice.“What do you want me to do! I told you I needed more time… Things are different… You need to be patient and if you can…” He stopped abruptly like he had sensed my presence and he turned around sharply.I was staring at him from the door, a feigned smile on my face. He ended the call immediately, I could see his hands trembling slightly while he tried to force a smile although it seemed difficult. It was hard to tell whether I was overreacting or this was how he was behaving now. “Mark…”“Oh, it’s good to see you Xena… I heard about the attack, I’m so sorry.” He muttered and I smiled, nodding immediately.“Thank you so much. What’s up with you? Who were you arguing with?” I asked, my suspicions greater than my concern.“Nothing much… Just crazy stuff…” He drawled,
