To The Ceremony

We got out of the shower and got dressed for the ceremony, the memory of earlier dominating my thoughts.

If at all possible, I was more obsessed with my mate than before. She smelled even more intoxicating to me. I also felt a huge surge of protectiveness toward her. More than I usually felt.

It must be a combination of what she told me her dream was about and her upcoming shift. Maybe that was why I had all of these new feelings rushing through me?

I don’t know. I just know that it’s more important now than it ever has been to keep her close and safe.

She came out of the bathroom and came to an abrupt halt as she looked at me, fire in her eyes.

“Chase, you look…”, she started, as she stared at me in my tux.
