Mellisa's POV

None other than Diana, my ex best friend, makes an appearance.

She is yet to look at me as she is fixing her revealing top and tiny skirt.

“Why are you here, Diana?” Adam asks with gritted teeth.

She lifts her head up to reply but her eyes freeze at the sight of me.

“Who is this again?” Fred asks through the mindlink.

“My ex best friend I told you guys about.” I reply, making sure he and Aiden hear me through the mindlink.

“What is SHE doing here?” She sneers in contempt.

Angry growls resound in my office, “Watch your dog, Alpha Adam.” Aiden says too calmly.

“How dare you? I'm a Beta's daughter and the future Luna of the Red Crescent.”

A chuckle escapes my lips, if only she knew.

“Funny, how you referred to me as a two-timer but you couldn't wait to get rid of me and cling to her.” I say as I walk round my table standing between Fred and Aiden.

“Wait, who are you in this pack? Why is there a low-life like you in the Alpha's office?” Diana asks in confusion and contempt.

“Leave it be, Diana. Let's go.” Adam walks towards her and holds onto her arms.

She yanks her arms off him. “No, I'm pretty sure the Alpha doesn't know you were banished for infidelity and betrayal.”

Fred steps forward, but I hold him back. His action wipes the smirk off her face.

Adam takes a deep breath and mutters, “I apologise for her foolish words, Alpha. It won't happen again, I'll make sure of it.”

Her eyes bulged out in shock, “W..what!!!” She stutters.

I take strong strides towards them towards the door, Aiden and Fred in tow.

I push my wolf, Selena, forward partially shifting, perks of being a white wolf.

I stop right in front of her “If you ever disrespect me again, I'll leave you crawling and begging me to stop, I'm no longer that naive little girl you used to know.” I say flashing my canines.

“Now get out,” I point towards the door.

Adam gives her a deathly stare and drags her by the arm, walking out.

“What do you mean by Alpha, who is Alpha?” Diana whispers down the hallway in fear.

After a few seconds, the three of us burst into a fit of laughter.

I catch my breath after a while, “I don't know how I once saw her as my sister.”

“She looks like someone begging for attention.” Fred says, rolling his eyes.

“You know at some point I didn't feel comfortable with her getting too touchy with Adam. Worse, she was always asking about how he was.”

“You think they were together before you left?”

“Probably, nothing surprises me anymore.”

“But guys come to think of it, it seems they are yet to mate.” Aiden adds thoughtfully.

“What do you mean?”

He sighs, “My problem with you two is that you never pay attention and listen.”

“Whatever, go straight to the point, stupid.”

“In her little rant she said that she is the future Luna,” Aiden says.

“What! That's so unusual. Alphas bond with their mates almost immediately, even chosen mates as herself.” Fred replies in deep thought.

“There might be a bit of trouble in paradise.” Aiden says.

“Well, that's their problem as long as they stay the hell away from me.” I say going back to my paperwork.

“What about Gift?” Aiden breaks the tight silence.

“What about my son?” I ask defensively.

“What would you do if he gets to know that he's his father?” Aiden doesn't back down.

I love and hate that about him right now.

“He isn't his father. You two are much closer to that name than he is.”

He lets out a breath in exasperation, “He will figure this all out. Even if it's not right now, sooner or later it will all come to light.”

Anger surged through my veins. “And you think I don't know that? What would you have me do? Walk up to him and hand my child over?”

Aiden's eyes widen at my outburst but I don't care the least right now.

“No, I just…..”

“This guy we're talking about threw me out like I meant nothing, barely acknowledged me when we were together.” I interrupt.

“Do you not see that he might do the same to my pup?”

Selena whimpers at the back of my mind.

I try to reign over the rage but it is not working. Both of them stare at me in shock but keep silent.

“I'm out, don't wait for me at lunch.” I stalk out of the office, deep in thought. Soon I was out of the pack house. The clearing in front is empty, but a few pack members, everyone is carrying out their duties.

I need to shift, so I can cool off. My paws soon hit the bare floor, the hot sun rays hit my back as I push past the trees in a blur.

“Let's go to our favourite place,” Selena mutters at the back of my mind.

I hum in agreement and take a sharp turn to the waterfall, I slow down to a trot as I approach my destination.

“Let's take a rest here,” She says. I settle by the waterfall birds chirping above me.

“I'm sorry, I wasn't there for you when you needed me the most.” She continues.

“Selena, stop. You did nothing wrong, we all went through pain and I might have even lost my life if you had shown up earlier.”

“You know I can feel the intense pain of what you wish you always had,” She answers.

I take in a gasp of surprise. “I know you have been trying to take it all upon yourself. But we are one, I feel it and I wish I could take it away.”

“I always just wanted love, or is that too much to ask? Don't I deserve love?” I ask

“You deserve love, Mel. You mean so much more than you think. Look around you, you're loved. Your parents, Gift, Fred, Aiden and the pack members love you.”

Realization dawned on me. I have been rather selfish in my thoughts.

“I've been so blinded by my pain that I have closed my heart off from everyone, I've been pretending to be okay. But, my heart is so injured.”

“We're in this together, Mel. I won't let you be alone. We will heal together, okay?”

“Okay.” Feeling a lot lighter, the heaviness I felt earlier lessened. I know I'm not completely healed but I'll take the first steps needed.

“You know Aiden meant no harm right? He cares about you and just wanted you to brace yourself in case Adam found out about Gift.”

I take a deep breath, “I guess I overreacted a little bit.”

She scoffs with sarcasm. “Yeah right.”

“Someone's coming, shift, and get dressed.” I walk to a large tree trunk, one of the places in the forest where my pack keeps clothes for pack members that want to shift.

Just as I slip on the large shirt and shorts, I get a whiff of my friends.

They still care even after my outburst.

“It's time for lunch and we couldn't have it without you,” Fred stepped forward from the trees.

I spin so fast around, I need to apologise at least it's a start.

“I know you guys can't do without me,” a smile playing on my lips.

I stalk forward towards them and walk right past Fred to Aiden who was looking a bit guilty.

“I'm sorry!!!” We speak at once.

“You go first,” he says in relief.

“I'm sorry I lashed out at you, you're right I need to brace myself for it when he finds out.”

He then shakes his head, “No, I'm sorry for being insensitive. What you need right now is love and support and not me being all rational.”

“But it came from a place of love. Yes, I'm so scared and overwhelmed but I shouldn't be blind to the fact that you guys care and love me with all your hearts.”

“Your fears are valid, though.”

“Can you guys hug it out already?” Fred teases with a bratty voice.

“Sure,” I answer with mischief since Aiden hates mushy stuff.

“No, get away from me.” He was heading towards the clearing, I jumped on his back.

“You little flea,” he spins me over, drops me on the ground, going for my sides and tickling me silly.

“Let goooo!!!” Peals of laughter burst out from my mouth, Fred then joins in.

“What the hell is going on here?” A raging voice causes us to freeze.

  • Chasing His White Alpha   Chapter Seventy Five

Adam's POV My heart thudded hard against my chest. Diana and I were supposed to hold our ceremony tomorrow but that won't be possible. In fact it will be an insult to the pack since they got a huge blow with the recent attack.“What's on your mind?” Noah's soothing voice echoed by me. He was staring at my face. The cool evening breeze brushed against my skin. The grass around me danced to the rhythm of the wind.“A whole lot, I'm burdened and I can't tell why.”“Is it because Alpha Bryan asked for Mellisa's hand?”My head whipped to the side in an instant. “What?”He sat by me with a sigh. “Didn't you know?”“Know what? What do you mean by he asked for her hand?”“Exactly what you heard me say. He wants her, it's spread like wildfire in the pack.”My heart felt like multiple knives were stuck in it. Why am I even feeling like this?“Why are you silent? And why do you look like you're hurt?” He gave me a look I couldn't decipher. “Nothing, there's nothing. I wish her happiness.”“No

  • Chasing His White Alpha   Chapter Seventy Four

Mellisa's POV “Alphas, Fred you are released.” I had to make the order once more to release them.Magnus, Adam and Fred kept staring at me as if I had done something terrifying. I could feel power radiate round me. Slight burns simmered under my skin, one glance made me realise that my marking was increasing.“Warriors, take them all into custody. We'll question them later. I need to take care of something.” I rushed towards the pack dungeons to get to Ariel, I had a bad feeling about her.Immediately I got to the cells, I realized that she was gone. She left no trace at all. I went to the underground bunkeŕto get to Aiden when I saw her holding a knife to his neck. Something was dead in his eyes.“Ariel, what are you doing? You're scaring the children.” I urged as I stepped forward, she must have come right when she noticed that the bunkers were opening and everyone was getting out.“What I should have done a while ago! I've hated it here. It ruined everything!” She looked so enrage

  • Chasing His White Alpha   Chapter Seventy Three

Mellisa's POV Aiden gave me a look of confusion and shook his head. “No I think it's a mistake, it can't be her. Don't you dare speak badly of my mate. It cannot be her.”I looked at him with a sad look. “That's what I saw. I spoke with Elder Thomas and realized that he was pretending to be with the rogues. He never got to meet with the real culprit but got some good information. He figured out that she noticed his inconsistencies and roped him in to be the culprit.”“No! I won't take it, Mellisa. She is my mate, I won't leave her based on an accusation that has no evidence like how your mate did.”I felt like multiple knives stabbed my chest. I know he is talking out of pain but it doesn't make it any less painful.“Both of you need to calm down.” Fred finally spoke up. His eyes held fury and pain.“Aiden! Mellisa! We need your help. Some rogues attacked us at the house.” Aiden's father shouted through the mindlink. Aiden growled and ran out, I turned towards Fred.“Carry Cheryl to

  • Chasing His White Alpha   Chapter Seventy Two

Mellisa's POV I thought I was over him but clearly I wasn't. My heart hurts so bad, he is hers not mine. He chose her on a whim but me, it took me years of grovelling to even be seen. Just when I thought I had him, I was accused. It was so convenient for him to toss me aside. He never felt the pain of my alleged cheating but it took him little to no resistance to banish me.“Mell? Mell? Are you there?” “Yes, I'm here.” Tears welled up in my eyes, I sniffed softly. I can't believe that I am crying over the bastard. He doesn't deserve it, doesn't deserve me. Now, no one should tell me we have a chance together.“Mell? Are you okay?” Aiden's soothing voice echoed in my head.“Yes, yes I'm fine.” I tried so hard to sound indifferent. “Don't tell me that, that idiot, Fred, told you about Adam's stupid announcement?”I went completely silent. “You fool, why did you tell her?” Aiden added Fred in the mindlink.“I didn't think, I promise.”“That wasn't okay, the least you could have done

  • Chasing His White Alpha   Chapter Seventy One

Mellisa's POV “No, you would need to rest first, baby. You just got back right now. We will take you tomorrow morning.”“Mom, please I just want to make sure she is okay.”“Trust our judgement, she is fine. But you might break down from exhaustion. She is fine, I promise.”“Fine, worrywart. I will be going to my room.” I placed my baby on the couch, he was sleeping soundly.“I'm coming with you because I don't trust you.”I giggled because I was about to sneak into the infirmary. “Whatever, Dad. You know me too well.”They both stifled giggles so that they wouldn't wake my baby up.Soon, Dad gave me a hand and I hugged mom good night. I then kissed Gift, and walked out hand in hand with Dad.Once we got outside he heaved a sigh. “Eveything seems to be getting out of control. Something just doesn't seem right.”“We'll look into it, okay?”“Yes, Dad. That works for me.” Soon we reached my door at the pack house and I said good night and hugged him tight. He waited for me to get inside

  • Chasing His White Alpha   Chapter Seventy

Mellisa's POV “Did he tell you anything?” My Beta, Aiden, asked me once I got out after an hour from the cell.“He did mock me and taunted me about how he was right under our noses.”Aiden growled and stepped forward to walk inside the room when I blocked him. “He wants to rile us up so that we might kill him. He is much more important to us alive than dead.”I used the automated remote to lock the cell up. Three of our engineers worked on it for us. I knew that guards can be compromised but not this.“When will we be back?”“Give him time to break, we need any information we can get. How did it all start?”“We'll see because he was born in this pack. How did he get compromised? What exactly is he after?”“I have no idea, we will figure it all out. I'm so exhausted from my trip, I need to rest.”“Okay, you should go. I also need rest, being an Alpha is a huge burden.”I chuckled at his exhausted reaction and parted his back. “Thank you for always being there, Aiden. You mean a whole
