You Look Terrible

After the shower Mike shaved and got dressed. He changed his shirt twice and finally went with a plain black one. He had a coffee. Then another. The weather was bad and it was going to rain. Mike was trying not to check his phone. And he didn't.

Eventually one of the guys called and said he’d pick him up because he was passing by. During the ride the guy must have spoken to Mike and most likely Mike had replied. Maybe they had listened to some music, maybe they hadn't. He had no idea. Because all of that was just background noice.

He arrived at the manor and Jesse greeted him at the entrance. He was as livery as ever. They were informed they would be guarding an event tonight at one of the manors. The guys finished what they had for the morning and before he knw it, it was late afternoon. They went for lunch. Jesse sat next to him at the table, talking about everything and nothing.

He was halfway telling Mike a story when he realized Jesse was asking him a question.
