Damon Pov

Mornings aren't my favorite. To be factual, I detest mornings, and this is because of the woman I married. Though a married man, I still dream of waking up someday with a woman beside me, no other woman but my wife. Our lives have gotten even more arduous. I used to be the only one whose love was squabbling and trying to make our family work, but now, I feel nothing but disdain for my wife-so I think.

....

The alarm rang loudly making me even more agitated than I am. I tried to put it off but I ended up grumpily shoving it on the floor. My eyes rolled provoked by the mess I made.

I placed my legs on the frigid floor only to be greeted by a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" I screeched at whoever was there. I know for a fact that it would be no other than Grayson or Madeline. It can never be Elysia or the kids. The kids must have gone to school already. And Elysia, certainly won't bother checking on me.

"Sir, it's Rosaline. The police are by the door and request to see Mrs. Elysia, but she isn't coming out sir."

I know I'm not supposed to be thrilled by this but somehow this certainly was making my day. The police are here for Elysia, how perfect.

I scurried out of the room, still in my pajamas. When I opened the door, Madeline's fright welcomed me. I quickly feigned ignorance and a troubled countenance.

"Why are they here?"

"Something about murder." Madeline could barely say the words correctly, but there I was grinning secretly.

"I will check on my wife. You just try to keep them entertained." I ousted her as I veered towards Elysia's room, reciting words in my head that I would shamelessly enunciate in front of her. She was the first to shamelessly cheat on me.

When I opened her door, I saw how spineless she looked. It made me feel even more powerful being in her presence. Knowing that her freedom was on the tips of my fingers made it even so much more entertaining.

When I asked her to beg I craved to see the tears that fall from her eyes as she say the words. She didn't disappoint.

....

Slowly, I walked behind her as she galloped through the stairs. She denied being the one in the video. It was fun to watch.

I didn't have a plan, all I wanted was to watch how well she fibbed, and she did it so perfectly, just like the way she has been fooling me all these years.

I felt a rush of anger permeating deep inside the muscles of my heart, and for that minute I felt like letting the police take her away and lock her up, maybe then, she will learn.

But I couldn't bring myself to do such a thing, not to the woman I love. God damn it, despite being cheated on, I still find myself at her feet. She might not know this, but she owned a parcel of my heart. I couldn't just stop loving her. She is my world, and I am here today all because of Elysia. I can't give up on her yet, I can only pray.

....

"Sir, they are taking her away." Madeline's voice erupted me from my reverie.

I looked around and couldn't find them in the living room.

"Where is Elysia?"

"They've handcuffed her and taken her in custody," Madeline responded.

I rushed out and saw the way the female detective was nudging her head and forcing her into the police van.

'How dare her?'

"Where are you taking my wife?" I shrieked at them.

They all gawked at me like I was some psychopath. I know it's all over the news that my wife had a fanatic, but she was still my wife, and I deliberately didn't make all evidence go away because I wanted to squirm her to my will, and now that I've done that, I can help her fully and make her pay for life.

"We are arresting her base on the evidence we have." The female detective responded.

"I'm sorry, but you have no right to arrest my wife. I didn't permit that. And what evidence are you referring to?" I squealed.

"There is a video of your wife going to the hotel to visit the deceased."

"May I ask where you got the video from?" I asked despite knowing the answer.

"From the hotel." The other officer responded in plight.

"I'm sorry, but that will need to be verified, and until then, you have no right to place handcuffs on my wife." I walked to them and opened the door of the car. Then I brandished Elysia's arm and led her out of the van.

"You are free to come to question her for any details. Even if the video source is proven, until you have solid evidence that my wife was involved in the murder, you have no right to come close to this mansion thinking of arresting her." I warned them.

They looked petrified at my demeanor. They said no words but relinquished the mansion.

My gaze instantly drifted towards Rebecca whose words seemed to be hung on the tip of her tongue.

"Are you alright?" I asked.

"I believe my response is not needed." She wanted to walk away, but then-

"Don't you want to be sure I've sorted this whole thing out?" I asked.

"I know you will." I could hear her teeth gritting as she glared at me.

"So what, you trust me now?"

"I still don't, but I trust you will never let yourself be mocked by the public Damon, I know you." She spat on the ground.

"I see," I smirked and dialed the chief of police contact. Soliciting him for his help to destroy every evidence regarding Jake including the videos at the hotel. That way, the officers in charge won't be able to trace the video they got. There will be no evidence left and then, I can fully make Elysia tend to all my demands.

Elysia's pov Damon turned towards me, his expression still unreadable. "If you want to be the CEO, Elysia, you're going to have to work for it. You'll start as my assistant, and we'll see how you handle the job. If you prove yourself, then maybe we can talk about making you the CEO." I gritted my teeth, my fists still clenched. I couldn't believe that he was making me jump through all these hoops just to prove myself. "I don't need your help, Damon," I spat out, my anger boiling over. "I can do this on my own. I don't need you to hold my hand and guide me through everything." Damon's lips quirked up in a small smile. "Is that so? Well, then. I guess we'll see how well you do on your own." He walked towards the door, turning back for a moment to add one final remark. "But just remember, Elysia. This is my company as much as it is yours. And I won't let you ruin it." I watched him leave, feeling a mixture of anger and frustration. I couldn't believe that Damon was making things so

Elysia's pov "I can't believe you're doing this to me, Damon!" I yelled, my frustration and anger mounting with each passing moment. "You know how hard I've worked to build up that company, and now you're telling me that I'm not fit to take over? That's complete bullshit!" Damon's expression remained calm, but I could see the hint of irritation in his eyes. "Watch your language, Elysia," he said firmly. "You're not doing yourself any favors by acting like this." I didn't care. I was too angry to care. "You know what, Damon? Screw you!" I spat, my voice rising with each word. "Screw you and your stupid mother! She've been trying to steal my company for months, and now you're using my memory loss as an excuse to take it away from me. You've taken over my family's company, and now you are doing this to me as well. Well, I'm not going to let that happen." Helen, who had been standing beside Kylian, stepped forward, her face twisted in anger. "You're lying, Elysia," she said, her voice

Elysia's pov "Take the money and move," he said, his voice shaking. I felt my heart pounding in my chest as I took the bag and slowly backed away. The man followed me, his gun still trained on me. As I spun to my right, and I saw his car parked just a few yards away. He motioned for me to follow him, and I complied. We walked in silence, the only sound being our footsteps and the occasional sound of a car passing by. When we got to his car, he opened the trunk and told me to put the bag inside. My hands were shaking as I tried to lift the heavy bag. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my leg. I looked down and saw a gunshot wound. I stumbled, trying to stay upright, and the bag fell to the ground. "Come on, hurry up!" he shouted. I struggled to pick up the bag, feeling the blood soaking through my pants. Eventually, I managed to place the bag inside the trunk. I turned to face him, my eyes blurry with tears of pain and fear. But then, something strange happened. The man was lying

Damon's pov My heart skipped a beat as my father rushed into the room with a gun in his hand. I had never seen him so unhinged before, and it scared me. "Father, put the gun down," I said, trying to keep my voice calm. "This isn't the way to handle things." But my father was beyond reason. He pointed the gun at Quincy, his eyes blazing with anger. "You'll pay for what your father did to me!" he shouted. I could see the fear in Quincy's eyes as my father took aim, and I knew I had to act fast. I lunged forward, grabbing my father's arm and trying to wrestle the gun away from him. "Stop it, Father!" I yelled. "This isn't the answer!" But my father was too strong for me, and he pushed me away with a fierce shove. I stumbled backwards, watching in horror as he pulled the trigger. The sound of the gunshot echoed through the room, and for a moment, everything was still, as my father shot at the roof. I felt sick to my stomach as I realized what had just happened. Damon's pov It was morning, and Elysia looked radiant as she sat at the breakfast table, sipping her coffee and nibbling on a croissant. But even as I watched her, something nagged at me, deep in my heart. Had she remembered? Had she figured out what I had done? As she rose from the table and headed upstairs to change, I took a deep breath and tried to shake off my anxiety. But when she reappeared, dressed and ready to go, my nerves were still on edge. I tried to put on a brave face as we headed to the living room, where our son Ian was playing with his toys. But I could feel the tension between us, and I knew that something was off. As I settled onto the couch, my phone beeped with a new message. I glanced over the screen, and my heart skipped a beat. It was from Julius, "Quincy Randolph, is at the transportation company, he held an open meeting. Where are you?" My eyes turned red with anger. How dare he? How dare he try to steal my company out from under me? I stood up, my

Elysia's pov As I drove down the road towards the beach Helen had picked, I encountered heavy traffic. The cars moved sluggishly, causing me to feel restless and anxious. I kept checking the time on my dashboard, hoping I wouldn't be too late. Finally, I reached the beach, and as expected, Helen was already there. She had parked her car and was waiting with a big bag by her side. As I parked my car beside hers, I noticed that the beach was empty, with no one around except for us. It was just afternoon, and the sun was shining brightly, casting a warm glow on everything around us. I got out of my car and went over to Helen, feeling curious and a little apprehensive. "Hey Helen," I said, "where are the company documents?" Helen looked at me with a strange expression on her face, and then suddenly went down on her knees. "Elysia," she said, "I can never hand over those documents to you." "What?" I said, feeling stunned. "What are you talking about?" Helen opened her bag, and my eyes
