Lucien pov

I’m seated beside her, my hands upon her hands.

“Lucien, you have to be here, in case she wakes up anytime. You'll have to calm her, and sweet-talk her.” the doctor said.

I nodded. “Thank you, doctor. I’ll surely do that.”

The doctor left and it was just me and Raina in the ward. I slept off.

The next day.

I felt a brush around my jaw and I stirred from sleep to see Raina smiling at me.

“Raina…” The words dried on my tongue as she pulled in closer to me, snuggling into my arms.

“Lucien,” she called in a faint voice, trembling. Her hands were cold.

“My love.” I touched her, patting her soft arms.

“I’m cold,” she whispered in my chest.

“A moment.” I excused myself. Standing up, but covering her with a blanket.

I walked to the side table to pick up the air conditioning remote.

I turned off the air conditioning and walked back to her side.

I dive my hands into the backpack I had brought and pick out a sweatshirt.

I helped her with the sweatshirt and asked how she was
