Damon
I set the table and we all sit. I sit across from my queen with my father beside me. We eat a few bites before we talk. Misha pleasantly hums as she savors each bite. It's music to my ears. Ana laughs, “She loves food. When it's good like this it takes her a few to come out of that haze.” I chuckle, “It's fine really.” Misha moans as she finishes the last bite before putting more onto her plate. My father grins as he says, “I have never seen a woman enjoy food this much since your mother discovered Pavlova Lamington cupcakes.” “And that recipe took forever to perfect too.” Misha gasps, “You bake too!” She looks at me practically drooling at the thought. “Yes, Misha I do.” She gazes at me, “You're perfect, aren't you?” I look at her and smirk, “If you want to think, so then please do.” Ana laughs, “After all, it runs in the family.” Misha looks around the table, “About that.” Ana looks at me and our father, “Let me, guys.” She looks at Misha, “You know I was an orphan. Well, turns out Demetri knew my mother. Her name was Vivian.” Ana took in a breath because Misha’s eyes began to tear up, “She died. I'm not sure of what, but I'll find out one day. Demetri and my mother were involved, but it was a fling because she knew he had to leave. He went to find her when he could but he couldn't. Turns out she was pregnant, and had me, but then died when I was a toddler.” Demetri looks at Misha, “If I'd have known, Ana would've never been in that orphanage. I would have raised her.” “So, you've been best friends with my half-sister for years.” Misha looks at me and Ana, “That explains why you both clicked.” Ana nods, “Yeah, he's my big brother.” “Well, that's awesome. But are you going to leave me and go with them?” Ana puts her hand on Misha’s and gives it a squeeze, “Well, that's for us to decide. Mish, if I went with them, would you come with me?” “Where would we live and find jobs?” Misha asks. My father chuckles before he smiles, “Oh, you wouldn't have to worry. You'd find something you enjoy doing for work. Lodging would be at the palace unless you want your own space.” Confused, Misha gasps, “Palace?” Ana laughs, “Turns out I'm a fucking princess.” “No way! That only happens in movies and cheesy novels!” Misha exclaims. “It's true though,” my father assures. Ana says, “But there's more. I'm not sure that you'll believe me if I tell you. Damon, can you show her how you did for me?” “Umm, I'm not sure.” I know that I can, but I am not sure if I am prepared for her to see the eternity I want for us just yet. I sigh, “Alright.” I put my hand across the table. I make a fireball appear. “Oh, magic tricks,” Misha says. At least she isn't fearful. Ana says, “No, Misha, it is not a trick.” She grabs the fireball throws it up and catches it. “Real magic! Here!” I get kinda nervous watching. I couldn't bear it if Misha got burned. We could heal her, but still. Ana held out her hand to Misha. “Touch it.” Misha touches it with her finger, “It doesn't burn. It feels kinda cool to the touch.” She grabs it, and it turns blue. “Father?” Demetri smiles broadly, “More proof, son.” “So, is it supposed to do that?” Ana asks. Demetri nods, “For her? Yes, but not sure why right now, given where we are.” Ana says to Misha, “Here, give it back.” She does, and it returns to a fireball. “Fire and ice,” Misha says nearly breathless. Ana giggles, “I'm the peanut butter to your jelly!” They laugh, and I join in. Misha stops laughing and asks, “All joking aside, how'd that just happen?” Ana looks at her, “We are demons, Misha. Well, I'm half-demon. Damon and Pops are demons.” My father laughs, “Pops, huh? This will be a long eternity.” Misha gasps, “But aren't they evil?” “Am I evil?” Ana asks her. “No, I love you,” she quickly replies. Ana smiles, “Well, they aren't either.” My father looks at Misha with a softness that was only reserved for my mother, “Some are evil though, just as some angels are too.” “Angels?” she asks. Ana nods, “They exist too. Justin is one.” “But he's a cheating asshole!” My Queen exclaims. Ana nodded, but I thought Misha should hear it from me. “As above, so below. There has to be a balance.” “Misha, yes there is a balance, and other beings exist such as; vampires, werewolves, witches, and a few others. In other realms, there's more, for example, gods and goddesses.” “The Moirai are why I'm here. They're the triad, otherwise known as the goddesses of fate.” Misha says, “So you could find your sister. I am happy for you both.” I sigh, “No, that was an unexpected bonus. During Lent, angels do what I'm doing now, which is visiting Earth.” “Is that why you're only here till Christmas?” she asks. “Yes, that's why I'm only supposed to be here till Christmas.” “Oh!” she gasps as her eyes show disappointment before she looks down.” “But…” She locks eyes with me, and I smile at what I see in her eyes. My fear of revealing our connection fades. “For three hundred years, I've visited Earth during the holidays. In that time, l've never met anyone like you.” I bite my lip as I become nervous. “Just spit it out, bro!” Ana exclaims. I can't wait until her mate finds her. I chuck a piece of toast at her. “Just wait till you have to have this talk, sis.” Ana rolls her eyes, “Might never happen.” “That's what I thought yet here I am,” I say as I get lost looking at my Queen. “The spark, I know you feel it too. You felt it when you shook my hand,” Misha replies, so I extend my hand to hers, palm up. She tentatively puts her hand in mine. Then we both feel the current flow through us. I feel her heart race and her cheeks flush. “There's a reason for that spark. It took three hundred years for me to find you, my Queen.”DamonThe other Fates learned of what happened to their sister, thankfully, they weren't upset at us for ending their sibling. Turns out that they always hated violence and killing while Atropos relished it. The hall is decorated with all of Misha’s favorite flowers. I tried to arrange as much as I could because I am the reason it needed to happen on Christmas. I want the destiny that my mother saw and for that to happen, Misha and I need to be married today. I stand at the altar more nervous than I have ever been. Today Misha becomes mine and me hers. Our eternity starts now!As I stand facing the altar in the grand hall awaiting my bride, I relive every moment that I have spent with Misha. My parents and Justin are beside me as the music starts and the doors open."Family Portrait" by Pink starts to play. I look at my mother who is wearing a black lace sequined dress that Misha picked out for her. She is already starting to cry, but my father looks like he wants to take her here and
DamonDamnit! Fucking Atropos! My waist is encircled with a whip as I'm pulled from Misha's grasp.I try to free myself but I can't. I can barely move.Atropos sneers, “The Threads of Fate, Damon. You are powerless and can't escape.”My family tries to rush forward but is stopped by the barrier. Misha yells, “You are a soon-to-be-extinct bitch!” Misha's eyes take on a fiery glow.“Don't even think about using your powers,” Atropos says as she takes out her scissors.“One move and I will end him.”Telepathically, I tell Misha that she knows what she must do. I watch the fire ignite further in her eyes. Misha linked to Ana as I asked through our link. Thankfully, it helped Ana get through the barrier and she now stands beside Misha. She sensed that Misha needed her, that I needed her which allowed her to use her powers.“How? Nevermind as it won't matter soon,” Atropos says as she takes her scissors and stabs me with them.“You're right, it won't matter soon!” Misha said as the scissors
DamonI am still kissing my soon-to-be wife like I would die without her. We are oblivious as to what goes on around us.“Wow!” my mother exclaims.Ana asks, “Is this normal?”“No, but it's beautiful,” Derek says.We finally pull away and just stare into each other’s eyes. Ana says, “Umm guys you need to see this.” We turn to look at them. Everything is brimming with life or glowing. Doves are flying overhead. Butterflies are dancing around us. Flowers are blooming all over. But the most striking is a shimmering pool that surrounds Misha and me as we stand on its glimmering surface.“Holy shit!” Misha exclaims. She blushes as she cussed. She is so damn adorable. “How?”I cup her face. “You. All of this is your soul Misha and how it reacts to mine.” I hold out my other hand and a dove lands on it. I move it close to her face. “This is us. This is the life we just created.”She pets it and it coos but then it turns into a Phoenix. “Umm.” I smile as the Phoenix takes off and leaves strea
DamonMisha and I finally break our kiss. Everyone is just staring at us. “What?”My mother runs over to us. She hugs us and kisses our cheeks. “Son. Daughter.” She starts to cry.“Mother?”“No, it's amazing don't you see?”“I know you're happy but…”She smiles, “Oh, I am, by the gods, overjoyed! I'm gaining a daughter and grandchildren. But so very much more.” She takes Misha's left hand and raises it up. “The lost ring of life is lost no more.”“It's impossible.”“Yet, here it is. Son, your bride is a descendant of the Creators. She has to be,” my mother says.“I thought only one God created everything?” Misha asks.“No, there were two. A man and a woman but equal parts light and dark. They made the balance and hoped their creations would keep it,” my mother explains.“You see we've tried but so much has been lost,” Derek says.“Our family is one of the last few that try to uphold the balance,” my father adds.Derek looks at his son, “It is why angels are forbidden to consort with h
DamonI broke our kiss and took her hands as I fell to my knees. “Misha, you are the light that will forever guide me home because my home is with you. With you by my side I see the future, one l'd never thought I'd see. You are my life. Will you do me an honor and become my wife? Misha Knight, will you marry me?”I turn over my left hand, as I don't dare to let go of her left hand that currently rests in my right hand. In my palm is a ring gleaming bright with the possibilities of what's to come. I hear my mother gasp. But my only focus is Misha She's silent and I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not. I really hope that I didn't mess this up.“What?” Misha asks.“Will you marry me?”“I don't know what…” she starts to say before Ana interrupts her.Ana stares at her friend, “For once don't think! What do you feel?”Misha just looks at me. She touches my face. God, this feels so good, I lean into her touch. “Yes.”“Yes?”“Yes!” she screams as I put the ring on her finger and pull her
Damon “Misha, Misha please look at me.” I take her head into my hands and press my forehead to hers. “I've got you. Nothing changes. What will be, will be? Nothing we say or do short of death can stop it. And my love, you're a goddess, you can't die. I know you wanted a human life because that's all you knew. Do you want to give this all up? Make it into a dream?”“No, I feel at peace here. But I'm not ready. I can't have children yet,” she says through sobs.“Why not?”“You won't want me after. It happens all the time when two young people have children too soon,” she cries.I smile and shake my head no, “Misha.” I kiss her like we are the only two people in the world because right now that's how I want her to feel. I need her to understand. “My love, my body may look twenty-five but my soul is far older. Ana is also far older than her body, and you are as well. You'll gradually regain your past the more you're here, as will Ana.”“I'll see my parent's faces?”“Yes. You'll remember
