Shhhh... it's Santa O'clock They say Christmas is the season to give, to spread love, to reunite with loved ones, to have a full bunch of wishlists fulfilled by Santa, but has anyone ever stopped to think if Santa too has a wishlist begging to be fulfilled, huh? You bunch of greedy ass! *********** BLURB: The Christmas season came knocking on the door of Nelly Moore, a young lady who was in a complicated relationship with her boyfriend. Ever since her inability to be sexually stimulated, her ever-sweet relationship was hitting rock bottom. Dying to get a solution, she accepted a crazy, steamy Christmas vacation contest being hosted by a game lord in Costa Rica. Unfortunately, the Christmas miracle she expected wasn't exactly what she got. She found herself entangled in a lustful affair with the vacation's host—the game lord himself, a man old enough to be her father. And to make the situation more twisted, he doesn't believe in love; he only views humans as being bound by lust and nothing more, which brought a clash of perspectives, since Nelly, the lover girl, believes love exists. The whole ordeal started with a provocative question: "Will you be Santa's prize and fulfil his wishlist?" ********* Grab a cup of coffee and make sure you have a guy next door to grab while you slide into chapter one to dive into this thrilling, steamy Christmas story. Chapter 1

THE GAME LORD

The autumn wind cut through New York’s concrete canyons. I was supposed to be shopping for a dress.

Instead, I stopped dead at the corner of Fifth and 42nd.

An old man lay on the sidewalk. He clutched his leg and moaned. In front of him, a black Bentley had stopped inches away.

“Get up.” The voice was cold. Sharp.

I knew that voice. It belonged to Alex Blackwood.

He stood by the car door, arms crossed. Beside him, a man in a suit held a phone, recording.

“He’s faking it,” Alex said. “Call the police.”

The old man wailed louder. “Young master, you hit me! My leg is broken!”

A crowd gathered. Phones came out.

I pushed through.

“How can you be so heartless?” I stepped between Alex and the old man. “He’s hurt. Look at him.”

Alex stared at me. His eyes were dark. Empty.

“And you are?”

“Ella Sinclair.” I squared my shoulders. “Someone with a conscience.”

The old man grabbed my ankle. “Miss, save me! He ran the red light. I’m just a poor old man collecting scraps.”

I bent down. “Don’t worry. I’ll help you.”

“Don’t.” Alex’s voice cut like ice. “He’s a professional scammer. Three arrests in the past year.”

“That’s a lie!” The old man’s voice cracked. “I’m innocent!”

I turned to Alex. “Even if he has a record, maybe today he really got hurt. You can’t just—”

“Show her.” Alex nodded at his friend.

The man held up the phone. The screen played footage from the Bentley’s dashcam.

The old man had been waiting on the curb. The car approached slowly. He watched it. Calculated. Then he threw himself onto the hood and rolled to the ground, clutching his leg.

My stomach turned.

The crowd laughed.

“Saint Ella,” someone muttered.

“Fooled by a scammer.”

“Rich girl with no brains.”

Heat flooded my cheeks. I wanted the ground to swallow me.

But I couldn’t just leave him. I reached into my bag and pulled out my wallet.

“Here.” I handed the old man a hundred dollars. “Get something to eat.”

“A hundred?” The old man’s eyes narrowed. “Your bag costs ten thousand. Give me ten thousand, and I’ll forget about my leg.”

The crowd jeered louder.

“Generous little princess.”

“Throwing money at problems.”

“Classic rich girl.”

My hand trembled. I felt stupid. Naive. The hundred-dollar bill felt like a confession of idiocy.

Alex stepped forward. He looked down at the old man.

“You have three seconds to disappear.”

The old man smirked. “What are you going to do, hit an old man?”

Alex didn’t blink. “I’ll call the police. They know you. Three arrests. The fourth charge will be extortion. Minimum three years.”

The old man’s face changed. He scrambled to his feet, miraculously healed.

“Fine. Fine.” He backed away. “I was just playing. Crazy rich people.”

He disappeared into the crowd.

The Bentley’s door closed. Alex’s friend drove off. We were alone on the sidewalk.

I stared at my shoes. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”

“Of course you didn’t.” His voice was flat. “That’s the problem.”

I looked up. “I was trying to help.”

“Help?” He laughed. No warmth. “You almost paid a criminal ten thousand dollars. You made yourself a target. You made us look weak.”

“I’m not weak.”

“No. You’re just naive.” He adjusted his cuff. “There’s an Eastern proverb. Pitiful people must have hateful qualities.”

“What does that mean?”

“It means people end up where they belong.” He turned and walked away.

I wanted to scream. I wanted to throw something. But I just stood there, useless and angry.

That night, I waited for the storm.

I sat in the living room of the penthouse, phone in my hand. My father would call any minute. Charles Sinclair would scream at me. “Embarrassing the family name. Public spectacle. Marrying a girl who can’t even spot a scam.”

I braced myself.

The door clicked open.

Alex walked in. He didn’t look at me. He took off his jacket and hung it up.

I waited for the explosion.

It didn’t come.

He walked past me. Paused. Then spoke.

“I called your father.”

My heart stopped. “You told him?”

“Yes.”

I closed my eyes. Here it comes. The divorce before the marriage even starts.

“I told him you were pure and kind.”

I opened my eyes.

Alex’s back faced me. He didn’t turn around.

“I told him I agreed to the marriage.”

The door to his study clicked shut.

I sat alone in the dark living room, heart pounding so loud I could barely hear my own thoughts.

What kind of man praises a woman he mocked?

What kind of man says yes to a marriage he clearly doesn’t want?

My phone buzzed. My father’s text: “Good job, Ella. Alex speaks highly of you. Don’t mess this up.”

I stared at the screen.

And for the first time, I wondered if Alex Blackwood was more than the cold, ruthless machine I thought he was.

Or if I had just walked into a trap I couldn’t see.
