Standing in the center of the circle of my men calmed the rushing hatred that had sprung up when I saw Merlin in my house. When I saw him raise a hand to one of my guys. That little bitch of a druid-Fae-whatever he was, was going to pay. And dearly.

The guys separated as Ari came over. "We need to get you dressed, garinion."

I laughed, thinking she was joking.

When she didn't join in on the laughter, mine cut off like someone had cut my throat. "You're serious."

She nodded. "Yes. I can spell some armor for you. Make it more resistant to magic and some kinds of attacks."

My brow furrowed. "But I've never worn it before. And we're out of time for training or practicing anything."

Ari's blue eyes widened as she stiffened her spine. "And I won't have you going out there with nothing but some godsdamned cotton and spandex." Her voice was strident and harsh.

Before I could say anything, she raised a hand and spun away. She stomped off down the hall.
