ALPHA CONAN

When Gwen turned her back on me at that moment, something inside me panicked. I knew her too well. If I had let her walk out of that room, she would have locked me out of her heart forever.

I could see it in the way she was making no attempt to hear me speak and the way she was ready to walk away. That was why I had to stop her. That was why I carried her, no matter how much she screamed and hit me. It was not because I wanted to control her, but because I knew if I let her go now, there would be nothing left between us.

Her words broke me but I knew that I had hurt her more. She accused me of laughing at her, of enjoying her ignorance, of playing with her trust. Each word cut deeper than the last. But I didn't meant to do that. I was going to tell her, I was just cowardly. Funny thing for me to say when I was an Alpha, someone who led one of the strongest packs in the North.

I carried her to the study while she shouted that I disgusted her, that I had betrayed her. I w

GWEN 10 YEARS LATERThe pack house was filled with noise and movement from the early hours of the morning. Today was my second son, Alex's seventh birthday, and no one was allowed to sit still for long. I had been up since dawn, checking the decorations in the hall, making sure the cake had arrived, and giving instructions to the omegas who were helping with the food.“Please put the extra tables near the windows,” I said, pointing at the far end of the hall. “And bring out the chairs from the storage room. There will be more guests than usual.”“Yes, Luna,” they replied quickly, hurrying to do as I asked. The children were outside already, running and screaming with excitement before the party even began. I could hear their laughter through the open windows, and every few seconds my daughter Raya’s voice rang above the others, usually bossing her brother around.“Raya!” I shouted from the doorway when I caught sight of her hitting Alex with a stick. “Do not hit your brother. I mean

ALPHA CONAN The cell was silent except for the faint dripping of water. Archer’s chains clinked when he shifted slightly, but he had no real strength left. He hung against the wall, skin torn and bruised, yet still smiling. That smirk was the last straw.I stepped forward and slammed my fist across his face. His head snapped to the side, blood flying from his mouth. He groaned but then gave a short laugh.I punched him again, harder, until the smirk vanished. His lip split open, and blood ran down his chin.“Laugh now,” I growled, grabbing his hair and yanking his head back.He spat blood at my feet. “This is all you can do?”I kneed him in the stomach, the air rushing out of him in a harsh grunt. While he struggled to breathe, I clawed at his chest, dragging deep lines into his skin until the blood poured freely. His scream echoed through the stone chamber, raw and sharp.I leaned close. “This is for every thought you had of her.”He groaned, trying to lift his head, but I smashed h

ALPHA CONANI had not spoken a word of this to Gwen. She thought Archer had disappeared without a trace, but I knew better. Men like Archer did not disappear quietly. They hid, they plotted, and they waited for a moment of weakness to strike. For weeks, I gathered pieces of information quietly. I did not question anyone directly inside the Mystic Pack, because word traveled fast and I could not risk Gwen hearing of it. Instead, when I traveled for meetings or border patrols, I pressed for answers from warriors of other lands. Some claimed they had not seen him. Others said he had crossed their territory briefly but left in haste. Then, one night during a meeting at the southern border, I got word from a man who dealt in supplies that Archer had been taken captive in Alpha Oren’s lands.I said nothing then, but the moment I returned to my office I began planning my trip. I had not told Alpha Oren about my visit, it was too delicate to talk about over the phone.Rian offered to accompa

GWENI woke up to the sound of thousands of voices filling my head. They overlapped and rushed through me like a flood, men and women, young and old, some laughing, some arguing, some worrying. It was unbearable, and I let out a groan, clutching my head with both hands. The sound was not outside…it was inside my mind. I could hear them all at once.Conan stirred immediately beside me, his hand reaching for me. His voice came sharp with worry. “Gwen, what is wrong?”I whimpered, unable to stop the sound that left my throat. “I can hear them. All of them. Every single voice. It’s so loud, Conan. Stop it please.”His tone softened instantly, filled with understanding “It is the bond. It opened completely last night. You are connected now, not just to me, but to the entire pack through me. It is too much at once. Look at me, Gwen.”I shook my head, rocking slightly, pressing my palms against my ears as though that would block it out. “It will not stop. It will not stop.”He sat up quickl

ALPHA CONANThe forest echoed with the sound of paws hitting the ground. I chased after Gwen, and every time I thought I was close enough to catch her, she pushed herself faster, her silver fur flashing between the trees. She wanted this chase, she wanted to test me, and I was more than willing to give her everything she asked for.I pushed harder, matching her speed, closing the gap between us little by little. She darted left and right, but I refused to give her the satisfaction of escaping. Finally, as she slowed to glance back at me, I surged forward and leapt. My weight pressed her down just enough to pin her before she twisted around and pushed me off, growling in play.We circled each other, snapping harmlessly, teasing, testing strength. She jumped forward and pushed me again before darting back with a playful bark. I followed, and soon we were running side by side, neither giving up ground, both filled with raw energy. When the teasing had gone on long enough, I huffed, telli

ALPHA CONANWhen I entered the room, Gwen was already asleep. The moonlight came in through the window and rested on her. She looked so peaceful that for a moment I just stood there, watching her breathe. I asked myself how I could have been so blind before, how I could have taken so long to see what was in front of me.I walked quietly to the bathing room, took off my clothes, and let the water wash away the sweat from training. When I was done, I dried myself and came back to bed. I slid under the blanket carefully so I would not wake her, but she stirred almost immediately. Without opening her eyes, she moved closer to me, her body pressing against mine.A smile came to my lips as I wrapped an arm around her.“You are back,” she mumbled, her voice heavy with sleep.“Yes,” I answered softly. “I am done training.”“Good,” she whispered. “Now sleep.”I brushed my hand down her arm. “Go back to sleep, Gwen.”She let out a tired sigh, then the words came faintly from her lips. “I love y
