GWEN

I could hardly breathe. The whole place was so quiet, except for the two wolves fighting.

The moment Archer’s wolf lunged again, Conan’s massive black wolf let out a vicious growl and snapped forward. His teeth clamped around Archer’s neck, forcing him down into the ground. Dust flew around them, and the other wolves circled nervously at the edges of the clearing.

Conan didn’t just want to win. He needed to prove a point.

Archer yelped, pawing at Conan, but he didn’t fight back, not fully. Slowly, with a bitter huff, Archer rolled over in submission, baring his neck and belly.

Conan stood tall above him, his fur bristling with rage. Then, without warning, he shifted back into his human form, completely naked and breathing hard. Blood streaked down his chest from a shallow scratch, but he didn’t seem to notice.

He glared down hard at Archer, his voice sharp and dangerous.

“Don’t ever pull that stunt again. Not here. Not with her. Or I swear to the Goddess, I’ll end you.”

ALPHA CONANI was about to leave the healer’s chamber after ensuring that Gwen was resting when I heard the healer’s voice calling me from behind. Her tone was uneasy, the kind that carried weight. I stopped immediately and turned to face her. Her eyes were sharp, and her face carried the seriousness of someone who was about to make a difficult decision.“Alpha Conan,” she said as she stepped closer, lowering her voice even more. “We need to talk. Right now.”I looked at her in silence for a moment, sensing that whatever she had to say was important. “What is it?” I asked, my voice steady even though I already felt tension building in my chest.“I saw what happened out there,” she began, her gaze never leaving mine. “I saw her glow. And I am not just talking about a trick of the light. Her entire presence changed. Her eyes turned silver. Her skin… it was as though it was radiating power. Conan, this is not something you can ignore.”I listened carefully, but my expression remained unr

GWENThe sound of the growl echoed across the training grounds. Everyone’s head turned in the same direction, their eyes scanning for the source. My own breath caught as my gaze landed on Cassy. She was no longer standing in human form. She had shifted into a large brown wolf, her eyes burning with rage. The pack members stepped back quickly, some out of fear and others in shock. A low murmur passed through the crowd, but no one dared to step forward. I could feel their eyes darting between her and me, waiting for what would happen next.Cassy snarled and lowered her head, her muscles tightening before she lunged forward. Her claws dug into the earth as she ran toward me at full speed. I tried to move, but she was so fast that I barely had time to react.Conan roared in fury and shifted into his massive black wolf, his powerful form hitting the ground in front of me. He launched himself forward, trying to intercept her, but she was already too close. The world seemed too slow for a mo

GWENCassy lunged forward with surprising speed, and I instantly stepped back, my arms up to protect myself. Her eyes locked on my stomach, her intent clear, and my body reacted before my mind could even form a plan. Cassy moved. Her body shot forward with speed that left no time for thought. I barely had time to shift my footing before she was in front of me, her arm slicing through the air in a sharp strike aimed at my ribs. My hands shot up instinctively, blocking the blow, but the impact still rattled my arms and forced me two steps back. My eyes locked on hers, and I saw only fury and a clear intent to win, at any cost. She did not pause to measure me further. Cassy pressed forward, her strikes quick, each one meant to break through my guard and force me open. I kept my elbows close, my hands ready to deflect, my feet light so I could move away from her reach. I knew what she was aiming for. Every shove, every sudden low kick, every faint shift of her weight was meant to open a

GWEN Raya was sitting on the small couch in my room, her hands clasped together, tapping her foot against the floor in restless silence. I sat on the edge of my bed, facing the window, watching as more and more pack members made their way toward the training grounds. From up here, I could see them gathering in groups, talking, pointing toward the open field where the challenge would happen. The air outside seemed heavy, even from where I sat. It was as if the entire pack was waiting for something they had been eager to witness. My fingers rested lightly on my stomach. I could feel my own pulse in my palm, and I tried to steady my breathing. I had faith in my ability to protect myself, but more than that, I had faith that I could protect my child. I kept telling myself that I had not gone through everything I had endured only to let this day break me. Still, my body felt tense in every muscle.“You are quiet,” Raya said, leaning forward and studying my face. “Are you afraid?”I turne

GWENRian and I froze when we heard the growl behind us. My body tensed as we turned around, and my stomach literally flipped when I saw Conan’s wolf standing only a few steps away. His fur bristled and his eyes burned with a sharp blue glow. His posture was stiff and ready to attack. Above all, he looked absolutely furious. It took me about thirty seconds to understand why, and I finally understood why. He had seen Rian hug me.Rian’s voice was low and uneasy. “You might want to go calm him down before he rips me apart.”I shook my head quickly. “No. Alpha wolves are dangerous when they’re this angry.”Rian swallowed, glancing nervously at Conan’s wolf. “I know, but I would very much like to live long enough to find my mate. Please.”Despite the seriousness of the moment, I almost laughed. The fear in his eyes was real, but the way he said it was almost ridiculous.I took a slow breath, forcing myself to step toward Conan. My voice was steady, though my heart was racing. “Conan,” I

GWEN “This fight will not be like the training you have done before,” Lucas said, his voice carrying a tone that demanded my full attention. “You must remember at all times that you are not only fighting for yourself. You are fighting while carrying a child, and that means your style must be different. You cannot go into this thinking about attack first. You must stay on defence, control the pace of the fight, and watch for the right moment to strike. If you risk too much and leave yourself open, you will not only lose but you could harm your baby. Do you understand?”I nodded slowly, my hands resting lightly over my stomach. “I understand. I have been thinking about that since I accepted the challenge. I will be careful.”“Good,” he replied, stepping closer. “We will spend most of today on defensive manoeuvres and counterattacks. You have one day left. I need you to be sharp but also aware of your limits. The moment you feel something is wrong, you stop. Do not ignore your body.”“I
