Chapter 4
Kaia's POV
As soon as the words left my lips, I regretted it. His piercing blue eyes were nowhere to be found, instead his wolf forced its way to the surface.
I curled myself on the bed, bracing for rejection. For Kieran to tell me that I was right, that he didn't want me as his mate. Instead he moved away from me and out of the door. His footsteps faded down the hallway and I felt a pang of uncertainty.
“Why did I have to say anything?" I thought. "Was I going back to the dungeon?” I asked myself since my wolf decided to play hide and seek with me.
Since I heard her in the dungeon, I've been trying to call out to her but there was no response and it was killing me.
"Why is my life such a tragic story?” I thought.
First, I lost the only person who cared about me and then my father married a woman whose son hated my very existence but was also the reason I escaped from my mate who threw me in the dungeon. And now, another Alpha was claiming me as his mate.
"He is our mate.” My wolf said, instantly brightening up my mood.
"You're back!”
"I never left.” She replied. But I didn't get the chance to ask all the questions lined up for her in my head.
The door swung open, and Kieran strode in, his chest and broad shoulders on full display. His piercing blue eyes locked onto mine, making my heart skip a beat. His smell filled my nostrils, making my senses tingle.
“Fuck! He's hot.” My wolf moaned, and I couldn't agree less.
My eyes roamed his body shamelessly, “he definitely works out."
“What I would do to run my paws…" my wolf started before I cut her off. “Stop being a horny wolf."
“You know it's true." She argued.
Without saying a word, Kieran took a shirt from his closet and pulled it over his head, putting an end to my wild thoughts. I couldn't help the frown that appeared on my face when he did that.
“I'm sorry if I scared you earlier, my Lycan can get out of control sometimes." He apologized, his words sending a pang of surprise through me. Aiden would never apologize.
He came towards me, sending my body into a state of frenzy. My eyes widened, my breath caught in my throat, unable to comprehend what I was hearing.
"L-Lycan?” I stuttered.
"Yes, King.” He replied, completely missing the point.
I've heard a lot about the Lycan king. He was ruthless, and didn't care about anyone but himself. He has several women at his beck and call. The only good thing I heard was that he was good looking…and they were fucking right.
The image I had in mind was of someone older, but he was anything but that.
“You're my mate, why would I reject you?” He asked, his expression soft, his eyes held a warm smile, as if trying to put me at ease but it did the complete opposite.
“Just tell him the truth, he's going to accept us anyway.” I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at her. "And then the next minute, he'll bring in another mate.”
Aiden's face flashed through my mind, the event with Brianne playing over and over again.
“They're nothing alike." My wolf said.
As much as I didn't want to admit it, being close to him was messing up with my mind. The whole thing with Aiden seemed so far away, like it never happened. I was conflicted about what I had been so sure about…not wanting a mate.
“I already have a mate." I said before I could stop myself.
"Mine," Kieran's wolf growled, its deep voice vibrating through the air, sending shivers down my spine. The sound was raw and possessive, making my heart skip a beat.
“I don't belong to anyone.” I said, ignoring how turned on I felt.
He chuckled, drawing closer to me. I moved away but that did nothing to help. His closeness to me was affecting me more I'd like to admit. For a moment, I forgot how to breathe.
“Want to repeat that for me, ma Bella?" His face was so close to mine. I couldn't concentrate on anything else.
"I-I’m mine."
“Way to go! You're doing a great job." My wolf mocked me. She was enjoying watching me embarrass myself.
He hummed, his face moving towards my neck. As he drew closer, his warm breath danced across my skin, sending shivers down my spine. I tried to move away, but he was stronger than I am. His strong hand kept me in place and his lips grazed the sensitive skin of my neck, sending a jolt of electricity through my body.
"Mine," he whispered, his voice husky and seductive. His teeth nipped gently at my earlobe, making me gasp. I felt my body melt into his, my resolve weakening.
"Kieran, stop," I whispered, trying to sound firm, but my voice betrayed me, trembling with desire.
He chuckled, his lips still pressed against my skin. "You don't mean that, ma Bella," he whispered, his breath sending shivers down my spine. "Your body betrays you, sweetheart. No one can get a reaction from you like this, except me." He said proudly.
I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as I realized he was right. My body was betraying me, responding to his touch in ways I couldn't control.
“And call me King." He added. He moved away, a satisfied look on his face.
I remained in my spot, good thing I was sitting down, because it was obvious my leg would have given way long ago.
“This is what I'm talking about!" My wolf danced happily.
“Can you keep it down?" I snapped at her but that did to stop her.
“You should let me out, you humans are boring." She said.
"The moon goddess really took her time creating a horny wolf for me.” I thought and she just rolled her eyes.
I looked at Kieran, his piercing blue eyes were back but he still wore a satisfied look.
"I, Alpha Kieran Blackwell of Blood moon pack, accept you, Kaia as my mate and Luna.”
Kaia's pov "No, no no." My words played in my head again and again as I stared at him, my heart racing. “Did he just…?" "Yes, yes he did!" My wolf danced in excitement in my head, but I was pale with shock, my lips part in surprise. "Why?" I asked, my eyes finally drifted to meet with his blue ones, and my throat felt like there was a huge lump in there. He wore a puzzled look, “Why what?” He asked. He inched closer, and my heart stopped. Maybe he was joking, maybe this was a plan to make me look stupid like Aiden did. “Are you accepting me now so you can reject me later or you just want me close enough because your Lycan needs his mate?” I snapped before I could stop myself. And I have been doing a lot of it lately. Kaieran's eyes squinted a little before returning to their normal size, and creased lines appeared on his forehead. “Of course not, Kaia." My name rolled off his lips softly. “I'm accepting you because you are my mate, the only one who will complete me. Wh
Chapter 6Kieran’s POV “How can someone be so effortlessly beautiful?" I wondered, “all she did was stand and I lost my ability to make a complete sentence without making myself look like an idiot." "With a face and body like that, whoever rejected her is the real idiot.” King's words echoed in my mind and I couldn't help but agree. Whoever he was, did us a favour. But I hated that she had to go through so much pain to become ours. A picture of the bruises on her body crossed my mind and a growl left my lips. “Whoever did that to her was going to pay." My thoughts were interrupted when I got to my chambers where Caleb and Ryder were waiting for me. Their heads snapped to me, confusion written on their faces since it has only been a few minutes since I left. "Alpha, do you need something?” Caleb asked, his brows furrowed. I shook my head and sat on the chair opposite him. The only person who could give me what I wanted was in my room and still isn't sure if she wo
Kaia's POV I groaned, slowly opening my eyes. However, my heart skipped a beat when I noticed Kieran sitting on the bed beside me with his eyes fixed on me. "What the fuck is he doing here?!" I screamed inwardly, trying to steady my breath. He was staring at me, but in a moment, he spoke. "Good morning," his gentle voice rang, and my wolf purred. “I can't believe that even now she was turned on." but I lowered my head, and remained concerned about why he was seated there. "He probably spent the night here. Can't you smell his scent all over the room?" My wolf spoke, but I remained quiet, trying to steady my breath. "He greeted you, don't just stay silent, say something!" My wolf urged, and I instantly shut her up."Stop being pushy!" She kept quiet just as I had told her, and I heaved before raising my eyes to meet his gaze. "G-good morning." Somehow, my response seemed to light him up because he smiled, but it didn't really matter, so I tried to lower my head when
Kaia's POV Dani's energy was unmatched. We ran into a few people…literally and when they complained, she glared at them like it was their fault. As we stepped into the Mall's spacious interior, it felt like we were in a different dimension. People moving around with different agendas. Everyone was talking about on the top of their voice making everywhere a bit noisy but at the same time, peaceful. “We're going to start with dresses and I know just the perfect store." Dani said. I heard Kieran’s voice before I could respond, “hey." He called softly. "Get as many things as you want, okay?” He continued when I turned back. I managed to nod before Dani pulled me away. “With a body like yours, I'm going to enjoy dressing you up.” "I don't…I don't think so." All I heard about my body was how fat I was and how men were going to find me unattractive. And now, in less than a day of knowing me, she'd complimented me more than anyone close to me. “This is going to be perfe
Chapter 9Kaia's POV For a moment, Kieran's entire body froze as my hands came around him, but he soon snapped out of it as he held me closer. I had been so scared that he was going to do something to me. And couldn't be more grateful that Kieran showed up when he did. My chest was beating really fast, like I'd just finished a marathon race. “I'm so sorry, Bella.” Kieran whispered, his breath warm against my ear. His hand tightened around me and I felt a lump form in my throat. I shook my head softly, “it's not your fault.” I told him, my voice barely above a whisper. "I shouldn't have left you by yourself, I'm sorry.” he apologized again. I was going to tell him not to apologize for something he has no control over, but my wolf’s voice stopped me. “He's already beating himself up for not being by your side and King is threatening to cut the man into pieces. You should try to calm him down.” She advised before retreating to the back of my mind. I let go of him s
Chapter 10 Kaia's POV A man about Kieran's height entered the room, his hair was packed in a bun and he had a smile that could light up the world. His brown eyes stayed on me for a few minutes before Dani snapped him out of it. “Keep looking at her and soon, you'll be missing them." She warned. “And it'll be worth it." He said, before walking towards me and stretching his hand, “my name is Ryder, Luna." He introduced himself. At this point, I doubt asking them to stop calling me that would make any difference, so I've accepted that. “Kaia." I told him, taking his hand. “We are going to be good friends, Luna. I have so many stories to tell you about the Alpha, but only if you promise to save my head later." This brought a smile to my face, “I can't promise you that." I found myself saying. “I'll do it anyway." He said, a large grin on his face. "I really shouldn't be here.” Dani groaned, if anything, making me more curious about him, his life before I came her
Kieran's POV The day has been so stressful, but looking at how much Kaia enjoyed herself, the smile on her face, it was definitely worth it. Although King and I still felt angry thinking about the man who almost made her cry but he was human, and there was nothing we could do about it that wouldn't expose our identity to their world. “He shouldn't be alive right now.” Ryder growled, equally angry when I told them what happened. "That'll risk exposing us. I'll gather details about him. I'll let you know when I find something.” Caleb offered and I nodded, trusting his discretion. It was only normal for them to want to protect her and they would do so whatever the cost. Apart from the position they hold in the pack, they were the only ones I could trust to take care of her. “She's really beautiful, Alpha. It's only a matter of time before she opens up to you." Ryder said, “she did seem interested when I was telling her everything about you…” King growled, "what did
Chapter 12 Kaia's POV I sat up disoriented, “What happened?" I thought, trying to place the pieces of what I know together. I didn't remember putting on my clothes and the last thing I remembered was being in the bathroom. “Our mate found us and helped us." My wolf said, her voice echoing in my mind. When she said this, a quick image of me gripping onto his hand flashed through my mind. Thinking hard, I could hear his voice telling me something but what he was saying wasn't clear enough. “Did he change me?" I thought, looking away shyly. “I mean he's my mate, he's bound to do that one day." “I'm glad we both agree on something." She replied. I rolled my eyes, it was obvious she was in a mood this morning, and I wondered why that is. I was feeling a lot better after sleeping it off, but I should probably ask Kieran if I can get drugs for it just in case it happens again. “How come you don't have a name?" I asked my wolf suddenly, remembering my conversation wit
Chapter 150 Allie's POV There was a permanent grin on my face, not even the scumbag of Kaia's adopted father could ruin it. How one person could be that shameless was beyond me. It was barely over a week since Katherine had been with us and instead of being worried, he was already finding ways to replace her. He was worse than a pig which sleeps around. I decided to take a look around the Pack where Kaia grew up in even though she didn't have the best time. “The Pack looks cursed." Rhea mocked. “I wouldn't be surprised if it is. The moon goddess does like playing games." Pack members who were outside had their eyes on me, as they murmured to each other, asking who I was and what I was looking for but nobody spoke up. I stopped in my tracks when I realized I didn't tell Ryder anything and I didn't put it past him to be panicking if he didn't find me once he was done. So I decided to go back before I was tempted to treat all of them a lesson for being idiots. “We
Chapter 149 Ryder's POV With the new information on ground, Kieran wanted to catch two birds with one stone. So all hands were on deck to make sure that this plan was a success. But he had a separate mission for me. Nora had mentioned that after Luna Kaia was born, a locket was worn around her neck so that when she grew up, she would have an idea about her identity but obviously, she didn't see it which means it was still somewhere in her former Pack and her Dad…adopted father would have an idea about it. We knew almost everything about her identity, but it was the last and probably the only thing Luna Kaia received from her biological father, so I was going to get it back and probably put some sense into him. “How many days are you going to spend there?" Allie asked, pouting as she watched me get ready to leave. “I should be back at the latest tomorrow…I don't think I'm going to survive more than a day without you.” She grinned widely, "how about I come along? It'
Chapter 148 Dylan's POV I was in shock as I continued staring at the girl…Nora. The way she put herself in front of me was making my wolf go crazy. My mind was no longer on what was being discussed in the room, all I wanted was to talk to her…alone, to confirm I wasn't imagining things. “Keep your eyes on her," Alpha Kieran commanded, bringing me back to the present. “I need to talk to Ryder about something." Nodding slightly, I led her out of the office and immediately we were out, she hastened her footsteps, trying to get away, but I was fast, grabbing her arms and the sparks which I had thought was a fragment of my imagination earlier, shot through me again. I could tell she felt it too. “What was that?" She feigned a confused look, “what was what?" She asked, snatching her arm out of my hand. I let out a frustrated sigh, my wolf wanted to take control but that would be a mistake on my part. He was far from being patient and the girl in front of me needed a whol
Chapter 147 Kaia's POV The door opened and Dylan entered with a familiar face standing beside him…Nora! I haven't seen her as much since I ran away and was brought back. She had her head facing the ground and Dylan…well, he looked like him, just a little tense. “You know her?" Dylan asked, not masking his shock. I nodded, “she works in the kitchen." I replied. “What did you do to her? She looks like she wants to disappear." Kieran snorted as he sat upright, his arms around me loosening. “You found something?” He asked, clearly not interested in small talk. Dylan nodded and stepped forward, stretching a phone to Kieran. "She was talking to her mom about Luna Kaia, and there are pictures of her on the phone.” He said. “I think it might be connected to the attack." He added, his voice low as he spoke and he looked away from her. My eyes widened, my jaw dropped as I looked at the girland I found it hard to believe, considering how many times she defended me in the presence
Chapter 146Dylan's POV No matter how many times I repeated it to myself that I was acting under a spell, it didn't help the guilt I felt, especially when I saw the bruises on Alpha Kieran's body. No doubt he didn't fight back which made everything worse. “You're here again." Allie said, “you're stealing my thinking spot and I don't think I like it." She added, coming to sit beside me on the bench. The pavilion was her favorite spot and because it was mostly secluded, it became mine too. “Thinking spot, huh? What else do you have to think about? You're the happiest I've seen you." Her smile widened, “I am happy…but it doesn't mean I can't come here to think." She said. “A lot of things have happened the past few days and even weeks, I just want things to go back to how they used to be." I nodded, understanding what she was talking about. Her mom was currently sitting in the dungeon and she didn't want to hear anything about her. “I thought things were going well
Chapter 145 Kieran's POV I turned back to Gerald, now, even more determined as I couldn't wait to find out what Kaia wanted to tell me. “I'm listening." I said, referring to the question I asked him. “All I know is that the Alpha of their Pack knew something he shouldn't and in order to silence him, rogues were sent to their Pack, catching them unaware." He said, “but I had nothing to do with it." He insisted. “By their Alpha, you mean Alpha Marcus?" Caleb asked. My brows furrowed, everyone knew he was the Alpha and there was no need dwelling on that. But Gerald shook his head, “Alpha Marcus is the twin brother of the real Alpha." He said, “Alpha Matthew is the elder twin which makes him the rightful heir to the throne." I messaged my temple gently, if this was true, we were years away from finding Kaia's biological parents. I wanted to ask how he knew all of this, something even my Dad as an Alpha didn't know…or probably because I didn't ask. Caleb had suddenly g
Chapter 144 Kieran's POV Apart from the things we found after rummaging through the house we found out belonged to Gerald and his mate after they were banished from the Pack, we haven't found anything new. And the location of Gerald's mate and the son, whose name was Felix was yet to be determined, but we now have names we were working on, instead of just wild guesses. It was confirmed that this Felix guy was born earlier than I was, which would suggest that the reason he was dead set on attacking the Pack was because he thinks that for whatever reason, he was supposed to be the Alpha of the Pack. “I mean, out of all the things I knew was wrong with your mom, cheating on your dad is next level.” King said. "You do know they're your parents too, right?” "Nah, I'll pass. But I'm glad he did the right thing.” My Dad’s rejection came as a surprise to me, it was the last thing I expected him to do. And no doubt, the rejection was weighing on both of them, but my
Chapter 143 Kaia's POV After everyone left to carry out the task that had been assigned to them, only Katherine and I were left in the office, sitting opposite each and the both of us didn't try to start up any conversation, which for a moment was good because the only thing I could think about was Kieran bringing back the person behind this spell and also hoping that Dylan was okay. “Why didn't we think of Nessa?" Lylah asked me, and my eyes widened. “Fuck!" I cursed, “What if that's the reason she's been staying away because she's planning this?" I replied, asking a question of my own. I stood up, with a sense of urgency, causing Katherine to look up at me. “What's wrong? Is everything okay with Dylan?" She asked. The worry in her voice made me forget for a brief moment why I stood up. Of course she was worried about her son. She knew that no matter what she said, Dylan still would've offered to be the bait. “He's fine." I told her. It hasn't been long s
Chapter 142 Alpha Tyler’s POV I can't believe Clarissa would do something like this, a huge part of me was already trying to deny the possibility of her having a child before our first son. There was no way that could've happened without my knowledge considering we found each other really early but the resemblance between the boy and Kieran was uncanny. Even after the evidence, I managed to convince myself that something else was at play but the past few weeks, her sudden disappearance left me questioning if I was protecting myself and pretending not to see what was happening. But spells? She has gone too far this time. Even a blind person could see how much both Kieran and Kaia cared for each other. Her position was never a problem…neither was it for me, as long as she made Kieran happy, I was fine. If Clarissa had been an ordinary wolf, I still would've taken her as my Luna without a second thought. But for some reason, it didn't sit well with Clarissa and she was my
