LUNA ASTERBELLE’S POV
God knows how desperate I was in my journey in search of Jazpher’s whereabouts inside the Dark Shadow Clan’s territories. I could have easily asked the king, but judging by the way he left me earlier, I doubt that he’d still bother to converse with me."Miss Asterbelle."My ears tingled at the voice of the man who called me at the same time that the insides of my body ignited. "E-Eman..?" I uttered the name of the man who I haven’t seen for months before I turned to look behind me and confirm who it was."I don’t know who Eman is, but I heard from the king that you were looking for me," Jazpher said, which made me a bit disappointed. "What’s the matter?"I heaved out a soft sigh, then shook my head. "Nothing. I just mistook you for someone else," I answered. "How did the king know that I was searching for you?"Jazpher pointed to the locatiLUNA ASTERBELLE’S POV The aura that surrounded the dining hall was kind of heavy, despite the bright morning. Right after the mysterious man greeted me, King Dawn had been unusually releasing a large amount of his aura, which was a mixture of uneasiness and vexation. "So, can I now know who you might be and what’s the purpose of your visit here?" I carefully asked the man who was busy finishing the meal that Jazpher served. "I’m Beta Holmes of the Crimson Moon Pack," he introduced himself, then stood firmly with his closed fist on his chest. "The Alpha ordered me to fetch you from this useless clan," he added, which made the king click his tongue. Dawn suddenly got up from his seat in the middle, then approached Beta Holmes with such ferocity in his eyes. "Useless? You better watch your words, Nero. You’re in my territory; you should know what would happen if you mess up with me," he coldly said.
LUNA ASTERBELLE'S POV As much as I didn't want to interfere with the two, Jazpher scared me with how worried he looked. He wouldn't simply burden me with the responsibility of saving Dawn if he could've done it on his own. I made up my mind to shift into my vampire form, and with my enhanced speed, I managed to catch the silver bullet with my bare fingers after Dawn attempted to shoot the beta. "Luna, get out of there!" Dawn yelled as his face turned red. He was mad at me for not utilizing the time he gave me to have a chance to escape. "You don't have to go this far, King Dawn," I softly mumbled, intending to calm him down. "I'm sorry for that condition; I'm taking it back. I'll just come with Beta Holmes so that this will no longer escalate into a disastrous duel." I kept my chin up to let them realize my determination. There was no point in conducting the duel if Dawn would end up
LUNA ASTERBELLE'S POV It feels as if my world stopped spinning after I heard what would occur tonight from the Alpha himself. It all seemed impossible to believe, especially the first part where he declared that he chose me as his luna. I stepped back in an attempt to run away, but the pack warriors blocked the exit, so I returned to my spot. "Exactly what are you blabbering about? I only heard from Beta Holmes that you were interested in me, but that doesn't give you the right to claim me as your own! I have my mate, in case you don't know," I said. "Did your mate accept you? Rumors have it that he didn't even have the chance to do so because your adoptive parents refused to take Mr. Dawson as your mate," Alpha Holmes muttered. I have no clue where he heard such rumors, but he wasn't mistaken. Butler Zen moved forward to reach for my wrist, but I avoided his every attempt at the same
LUNA ASTERBELLE’S POV Cornered by two members of their pack, whose strength remains unidentified, I wasn’t able to resist anymore. I went back inside that luxurious territory, where Alpha Holmes was waiting for me to return. "You should discard that stubborn attitude of yours," he scoffed, maintaining his cold tone. "Follow Butler Zen to your lighting ceremony’s venue. It’s almost time for it to commence," he added before he left. I glanced at the butler, who shrugged his shoulders after I gave him a meaningful look. Minutes flew by. I was surrounded by people I wasn’t familiar with. The expression in their eyes clearly states how much they couldn’t wait for me to be one with their alpha. Even if they don’t really say it, I can tell that they only want to make use of me. Once my purpose here is done, they’ll probably throw me out of their pack as well, or worse, kill me.
LUNA ASTERBELLE’S POV The crowd has gone wild all of a sudden just because of the appearance of this woman, who had no manners. She didn’t even bother introducing herself. She literally attacked me from the get-go. "What’s the matter with you?" I furiously asked as I tugged my arm away from her grasp. The woman raised one of her eyebrows. "Don’t you know who I am?" "Yes. That’s right. I don’t f*cking know who you are, and neither do I have the slightest interest in getting to know an imbecile woman!" I raised my voice at her. I took a short glance at the butler after I yelled. Butler Zen had his mouth open out of surprise. Although I think that there was something else in his mind that bothered him. "Miss Asterbelle, stop. Don’t make a fuss out in public. This won’t do you any good if this reaches the Alpha." Zen gave me a warning. I heaved out
LUNA ASTERBELLE’S POV Lights were getting my vision blocked. The room was occupied by lots of women who I hadn’t met before. All of them seemed to have no idea what this auction would bring them. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be showing such a bright smile, as if their future would be better after being sold and bought by those they’re not acquainted with. Most of the buyers would probably be scum—low-life wolves who are yearning for the satisfaction of their heating phases. "How can I get out of this place?" I murmured to myself while I continued to observe the others as they were getting themselves ready. "There’s no way out of here, Miss Asterbelle," a lady from my right side said, answering my query. I turned around to face her and was immediately amazed by her dazzling beauty. Her simplicity stood out, unlike mine, which had numerous products applied to my face. Her lips curled upward
LUNA ASTERBELLE’S POV A hand gripped my forearm, and judging from its temperature, I instantly knew it was the king, despite being unable to see him clearly through the darkness. "What are you doing here, Dawn?" I inquired, even though I already had a hunch that he came here just to save me from the Alpha. "I made a mistake—I let you go here as if you wanted to on your own accord. I shouldn’t have let Nero take you with him," Dawn replied, his voice filled with pity for the situation that I was in. I held the temple of my head as it continuously ached with an undetermined cause. I heard Shin’s voice telling me to choose between him and the king. I was beginning to get hysterical the longer that I stayed here. Could this be the disease that they were talking about? "Come home with me, Luna. I’ll keep you safe and always within my reach, so you won’t be in danger." F
LUNA ASTERBELLE’S POV Yesterday was hectic. I was forced to agree upon the conditions of the auction through the document that Beta Holmes gave me. I had to sign it with my full name along with a drop of my blood where I pressed my thumb to paste my fingerprint. One of the terms that made me terrified to forfeit was the fact that I’d die if I did—they would slowly torture me until I gave up and was exhausted from living. After an hour of contract signing, the auction proceeded as planned, and everyone of us was bought through the bidding system. The only difference I had among other women was the fact that the one who had the highest bid on me wasn’t a stranger; it was Alpha Holmes himself. He made a generous offer to purchase me for three times what my father expected—a whopping ten trillion dollars! I wouldn’t have that much money even if I worked my ass off for my entire life; Mr. Asterbelle would sur
