I didn’t know what I expected when Alexander said we were going somewhere, but I should have braced myself. Especially after the way the night began. And still, I wasn’t prepared for what greeted me the moment we entered the hall.

The first thing I saw was a woman who was completely naked, balancing a silver tray stacked with glittering glasses of wine. She moved through the crowd as though her bare skin was no different from a uniform.

It finally clicked why Alexander hadn’t cared that his release was still dripping down my thighs when we left earlier. Here, no one batted an eye. Nudity wasn’t shocking. It seemed to be the standard.
