Suspicious

Madison POV

We already finished eating, Krystal went into the kitchen to return the plates she used and washed them too. I already washed mine and now I am seated in the living room with Kingsley on the couch watching N*****x.

 “Goodnight y’all” Krystal said as she walked out of the kitchen and dragged herself to the stairs.

My eyes were fixed on her “why are you going to bed this early?” I asked her

“Kingsley is here, why don’t we spend time watching the movie together?” I asked her. She turned to the TV screen then clicked her tongue as she looked away.

“No thanks Madison, I am really tired and heavy so I would rather sleep” she yawned

“Oh, its Ginny and Georgia Krystal, you’ve always wanted to watch it” I replied but she ignored and made her way up the stairs

“Oh okay! Have a goodnight” I replied and sighed as I turned back to the TV.

 Kingsley said nothing even as I expected him to try to hold her back, “Is something going on between you two?” I asked him breaking the silent atmosphere

“You mean between Krystal and I?” he asked me. I sighed heavily and turned to him more properly to have a close look at his face.

“I don’t know, why don’t you ask her? I don’t think anything is wrong Madison” he replied and I laughed out sarcastically.

“Well, looks like you don’t know her too well, Krystal used to be happy around you but now it seems like it’s the opposite” I replied with a shrug

“I kinda agree with her, I should not have brought you home here when you have the money for a hotel” I pout and he poked my shoulder immediately

“What? I am your cousin Madison, I am supposed to be welcomed into your house” he laughed

“Yeah you were always welcomed, but now its just different. I feel you did her wrong and that is why she has been off around you. Krystal used to have a crush on you..now I think she has feelings for another hot guy” I giggled then turned back to the TV as I grabbed my popcorn to eat.

 

“Really?” he asked me. 

“F*ck, don’t tell me you never knew!” I exclaimed and stared at him with my jaw down.

“Uh—well, maybe I never knew” he replied as I rolled my eyes at him. “I really feel stupid for telling you Kingsley. Is it that you never knew or you never wanted to accept it?” I asked him but he remained mute.

 

“Kingsley??” I called but he said nothing still

“That’s it, you are being a jock hope you know that?” I clicked my tongue and got up from the couch as I tucked my feet into my flip flops.

 

“Goodnight, I have to be at work very early tomorrow” I sighed and walked to the stairs ignoring his call from behind.

 

“Madison, you should calm down and listen to me” he replied from behind

“I’ll have to hear Krystal out first Kingsley” I replied and made my way to the room where Krystal sleeps.

 

I knocked gently on her door but she gave no response “Krystal? It’s me Madison” I said but still I heard no single word from her. I sighed then twisted the door knob open and made my way into her room. There she was, laying on the bed already sleeping like a baby.

“Okay, you are asleep..we will talk tomorrow then” I sighed then turned around to leave her room.

I tapped my pocket to get my phone but I couldn’t feel it. “Shit! I left it in the living room” I cussed beneath my breath and huffed down the stairs. I was just few steps away from the living room, Kingsley was seated in the living room on the couch but wasn’t watching the movie, instead he was on a phone call.

 

“This dude…” I scoffed.

 

“I told you I would be coming tomorrow, there is no need for you to call me again” he said on the phone.

“I don’t know if I will be chanced to spend more time with my cousin, my chance of spending time with her tonight is already ruined” he groaned

“Her name? well, her name is Raven” he replied and I choked immediately but he didn’t hear me. 

 

First, who is he on a call with that he has to lie about my name?

“You already told me things are happening lately, attacks and all that, don’t worry when I come around tomorrow we would talk more about it” he replied. I blinked rapidly and made an attempt to sneak to the dining table to get my phone but then, I mistakenly hit my leg on a stool and made a loud thud.

 

Kingsley turned around immediately, “I’ll see you tomorrow, goodnight” he said as he ended the call and raised his brows on me. “Madison, were you eavesdropping?” he asked me and I laughed lowly

“What do you mean, I just came down to get my phone” I replied and walked straight to the dining, picked up my phone then left.

 

“My name is Madison not Raven, I don’t know who you were lying to” I said and climbed up the stairs

“I thought you weren’t eavesdropping” he replied but I ignored and walked into my room.

 

“Kingsley, you wouldn’t like it when I start suspecting you of anything” I muttered and sat on my bed. I checked my phone to see if I have any new text message but there was none, okay what is wrong with Zach?

 

He hasn’t replied yet..

I rolled my eyes and threw my phone to the other side of the bed as I lay down to sleep. “I hope you don’t disturb me again Zach Westley” I groaned.

 

Kingsley POV

The last thing I would want is for Madison to find out the other side of me. I had to lie about her name for her own good. I know how annoying my boss could be but still I don’t want to get on Madison angry and bad side.

 

I really don’t know what to do.

I turned back to the TV, even the movie now is beginning to seem boring. I really need to talk to Krystal; she needs to hear me out. I grabbed the remote in my hand then turned off the TV. I walked away and made my way to the stairs. 

I am afraid I’ll hurt everyone around me, myself, Madison and Krystal.
