Tiara's POV

The bird humming against the windowpane had me flipping my eyes open in a second as I tried to gaze around, a smile lifted at the edge of my lips when my eyes met the breakfast just by the edge of the bed which had a note sticking out of it.

Stretching out a hand at it, I stared into it reading the content, while maintaining a smile on my face.

" I couldn't bear to wake you up so I had to leave after kissing you goodbye. I love you"

I held the note, placing it gently against my chest before flicking open the breakfast which laid by its side.

My mouth watered at the sight of neatly made brown pancakes which were drenched in honey, and had strawberries all over it and a glass of juice lying by its side.

My heart tingled because I knew he had prepared it himself, Larry was everything Bernard wasn't, had the perfect face, had ways that warmed my heart and most of all, knew how to make sure that I got whatever it was that I wanted.

I had barely dug into the breakfast by my side when my phone dinged, a message clicking around the screen.

I swallowed my spit as I placed the fork down before gazing around, my eyes met the content of the message which was me sprawled over, my face was barely recognizable, but I could tell that it was me.

Bernard had done this, my hands fisted around the blanket as I thought of what to do when his message came through again.

" I am sure by now, you have gotten what I sent, I want to meet with you in the café, you know the one we always frequented, you don't have a choice Tiara because if you don't show up, it will be sent out"

My heart slammed so hard against my rib cage while I thought about what was going on, and what I was going to do. It didn't make sense that this was happening, I hadn't done anything wrong that could be termed karma, so I couldn't understand this.

My appetite went down as fast as it had come, flinging the blanket off my body, I strolled into the bathroom, deciding to meet with him and hear what he had to say. I couldn't risk this new life that I had going away.

I settled for a not so fancy gown that fell just above my knees before slipping on a black sandal and sunglasses that would make it difficult to recognize who I was.

Settling for the key to the Chevrolet, I spun around on my heels, slipping into the car before driving off, my heart slammed so hard as I drove down.

I prayed with everything in me to Selina that no one would be able to see us there because I didn't know what to say, or what excuse I was going to give to the reason I was going to see him, I just knew that I needed to get him off my back right now.

The car came to a screeching stop in front of the café, memories streamed in, but I threw them off, they were nothing compared to what I had now, so I couldn't ruin what I had now with those that had hurt me.

The door came open in a fling and barely had I stepped a foot in when my heart sank to my stomach, his eyes bore into me, disappointment shrouded in them as he stared at me.

I tried to conjure up the words, but they weren't coming up.

" Larry" I mouthed out, my eyes spiraled around until they were staring at him.

" I told you" Bernard uttered at him. " She still loves me" my mouth fell wide apart at what I had heard.

Flipping my head to the side, I tried to explain that it wasn't that.

" I don't" I explained, closing the gap between us. " I don't love him, why would you even say that?"

His tone fell out deadly, as he questioned. " Why are you here, Tiara?" He called my name, my heart dropped when he did that.

He wasn't one to call me by my name, at least not with that tone, he hadn't done so in ages now and this being the first time he was doing so, I didn't know what to do.

My hands clenched around the bag I had on as I tried to hold him, to make him know that I would never hurt him, my feet made their way toward him but when I had a hand trying to hold him, he stood up in an instant, as though he was irritated by my touches.

" Don't..." he gnashed, holding out a finger at me.

" Touch me" his words drenched in me, I attempted to explain that it wasn't what he was thinking.

" I would never hurt you, and you know that, you know that I would never talk to Bernard, not attempt to patch up things with him"

His hands went through his hair.

" Then why are you here? I am doing everything, am I not? Why would you come in here to meet with him in the first place if you don't have any intention of rekindling old flames with him?"

My mouth stilled, words seemed to have dried out instantly, there was no way I could talk about the tape, he knew, Bernard knew and that was precisely why he had that smile tugging at his lips.

" You have to believe me, that wasn't it"

His shoulders slouched as he said.

" I would really like to believe you, but you aren't helping matters here"

I stood frozen to the spot as he sauntered past me, his feet meandering across, until I could hear the door crank behind me. I flipped my head over my shoulders, wanting to go after him when Bernard held me back.

" Don't we have something to discuss? Why are you going after him after he has clearly told you he doesn't want you anymore? Come to me, Tiara, I will have you back, I will do whatever it is to chase Zara away and have you back, all you have to do is say the words" his hand dug deep into my arms.

I tried to pry them off, to chase after Larry, he wouldn't want to talk to me, but I had to let him know that there was no way that I would let him think in a way that he wasn't supposed to. I had to talk things out with him.

" Let me go!" I shook Bernard's hands off, barely kicking him away as I tried to walk off when he yelled behind me.

" I will let it out, think about what everyone would say, the lycan elders, think about what they would say about you, that you are filthy, that you aren't fit to be queen, come back to me Tiara, I will make you my mistress first of all until Zara is out, then you can stay by my side as my queen,"

I was stunned at the nerves he had, to think that he would get me whenever he chooses was astonishing to me.

Gazing at him dead in the face, I said.

" I will never come back to you, even if you turn out to be the last person on earth, I would never want to have anything to do with you"

Tiara's POV Months had gone by and I couldn't have wanted anything else aside from the peace and solitude I had now. It was perfect, so perfect that it had me wondering if the rest of my life could just go this way without any chaos since most part of it had been with it. " You have to be careful, your majesty, not to trip over your heels."" I will not." Marriage preparation was difficult to go with and even when I had decided against it, Larry wasn't having it. He had decided that we were going to get married again since the first one was a fake and no matter how many times I tried to dissuade him from doing so, I had finally given him knowing that I didn't want to keep on arguing non end. It would be better that way. So that was how I ended up in a wedding gown while he was waiting for me outside fully suited. I didn't know how this was going to end but would it be different from the first? I plopped to the seat, taking in all what we have gone through, from where we had met

  • Claimed by the ruthless lycan king   Apportion

Larry's POV Now was not the time to apportion blame because I could have told her that I had mentioned it to her repeatedly, but she didn't adhere to what I had to say. I knew Tiara had gone through several emotions and when she had come into the office while I was talking to the alpha with tears on her face as she explained what had happened, I knew that there was no way that man was going to be alive. The guard who had seen him had been fast enough as he let me know what had happened, and even at that I needed to know where he had gone, the alpha had swung into motion with Lexis who had been helpful, and trailing his scent, Tiara had been there before us. I knew she could hold him off and I wouldn't need to do a thing, I should have done that, tried everything to get there before her but I knew what she would be able to do and it will be stupid if I stole it from her so I gave her the opportunity to go ahead, but I couldn't stand by and watch as she tried to kill him, the guilt

The only thing alpha Winifred could think about as he watched her walk away was how much of a fool she was, for accepting him into his house, he could see how desperate she was for a father figure and that had him stunned. He had thought that Larry would have talked to her since he said he saw through him and his tricks but it seemed she didn't listen to whatever it was he had to say or she was strong headed like she had always been which to him wasn't a good thing, but at this point it was. He was going to use it to his advantage. To him, the moon goddess had given him an opportunity and he wasn't about to take that for granted as it wasn't everyday that the moon goddess does that, so he did all that he could do within the first days that he had been let in. He trailed the halls when everyone seemed to be out, avoiding the CCTV camera, it was easy to do that especially with how he had a map of how the castle looked like, then he had made his way to the kids room when he noticed th

  • Claimed by the ruthless lycan king   End communication

Tiara's POV I didn't need to be told by anyone that what I had done was wrong, I just couldn't bring myself to let him die, knowing fully well that all I had to do was make sure that I gave him my blood which would in turn make sure that he would live, and that was what I did. Gave him a second chance at life. I could hear the tension that hung over the air, almost taking it in and I didn't need anyone to tell me what Lexis or Larry thought about what I had just done. To them, it was always going to be the same thing, I had fucked things up and I shouldn't have done what I did, I should have let him die but I knew I couldn't do that, will be unable to do that especially when I had the means to. It was on my conscience that it would be on, and I knew that I had to do something. " What are you thinking about?" Larry asked as he wrapped a hand around my waist. " Nothing, do you really think I made a bad choice? That I should have done better?" " We are past that already, why are yo

Luna Winifred knew that she couldn't take a step back when she got to know what exactly her husband was up to. He has treated her out of place and she knew, could see, feel and taste the disrespect and she was never going to forget what exactly had made her insist on doing what she did at last. She had poured it all in, not caring about what anyone would think or say about her or what was going on. She was hell bent on making sure that he ends up dead and that was what she had done. She could still recall the look the new bride had on her face when she had walked up to her, letting her know her husband was dead. The new bride didn't care about whatever it was she had thought and trying to make it all work out well, she had sank down in tears not caring about what anyone would say as she let them down in torrents, to others, she was mourning the man who had ended up dead, the one she had spent her life with and whom she will be unable to live without, but she knew otherwise, to her,

  • Claimed by the ruthless lycan king   Verge of death

Larry's POV I knew that he might come in here but then it was under probability.I tried to keep calm as I watched her go about her duty, give blood to him and even at that, it was difficult to just watch without stopping her. I swallowed, taking in gasps before I turned to Lexis who I knew had the same thought as I did. He was watching, taking in every single thing that was happening and when her blood finally dropped in between his lips, he coughed out, with a hand to his chest. I rolled my eyes at his failed attempt he wasn't making a good job at pretending. What was he here for? " You saved me." He stated the obvious, gratitude lacing his tone. I watched every single thing which was to happen before I turned to Lexis giving a direction to make sure the kid's room were kept safe at all time. " You really did. Thank you so much, Tiara." He let out before turning to me when he averted his head to the ground. I didn't say much, didn't need to do that because I could see past the
