Leah’s POV
Sebastian’s room was also slightly different. The modern kitchen appliances from before weren’t there, and the closet door was locked. It hadn’t been locked when I was here before. The bedding was a different colour and there was a blanket on the couch that made me wonder if his mate was still alive or if she’d died recently. I didn’t want to push the subject even though I was dying to know. Sebastian was rushing around the place clearing up, which was also a total contrast to what it was before. Almost as if this time around nobody came around to clean! I dropped my bag and walked over to the balcony that I had escaped from before and almost breathed a loud sigh of relief to see the stairs leading outside.
“I …” Sebastian hesitated. “I would have offered you something to eat, but I haven’t been out shopping lately.” His words made me bur
Leah’s POV “And have a stronger enemy that wants to ruin me?” He scoffed. “No. I can’t do that to anyone.” He shook his head. “Oh?” I felt a little shocked. “But you can kill her?” I was feeling utterly defensive. Remembering the last time I saw him, and what he did, I had to remind myself before I did or said something that I couldn’t take back, that he was a different person now. He was a little younger and something must have happened that made him act the way he did. The moon goddess wouldn’t have given me a second chance for no reason. I sighed heavily. “No, I won’t kill her.” He looked sad. “I don’t know what to do. If I let her go, she is definitely going to publish that story. I can’t imagine keeping her locked away for the rest of her life. I couldn’t turn her as I explained.” I could see he was really torn up about this, but there was more to it. I could feel it through our bond. I had to change the subject because this was leading us down the wrong road fast. “Tell me so
Leah’s POV My mind was made up. I had to find a way to reject Eli in this life before Sebastian found out who it was. I needed to finish that chapter of my life for good. I couldn’t keep doing this. I couldn’t be the reason for Sebastian killing Eli. As we walked into the dining room, silence fell. I took the time to look at the faces of the people I already knew, but they didn’t know me yet. They looked so happy to see what they thought was their future Luna. Gossip could spread so damn fast throughout the packs, that I knew, all of them already knew who I was. I couldn’t help myself. I felt as if I was finally home. The memories of Sebastian killing Eli no longer mattered. I was home. I had found my mate, and it was a brand-new beginning for all of us. A new life where I could finally live in peace and have everything I dreamed of. I thanked Sebastian as he pulled out my chair for me and sat down blushing brightly when I looked at all the faces looking back at us. “Now, you’ve all
Leah’s POVI was up in the early hours of the morning trying to figure out what I could wear to face Eli. I changed three times before settling on an outfit. I couldn’t eat and drinking my coffee was tough since it felt as if someone was pressing down on my throat! My stomach was doing flip-flops in all directions and it felt as if one had poured wine down my lungs. As I stepped outside, Sebastian was there to greet me and gave me a soft loving kiss on my cheek, but I could see that he wasn’t happy about me going.“I am coming back. I promise. That’s why you are sending your guards with me.” I winked and he laughed.“You just make sure you keep your promise.” Without another word, he pulled me into his arms and his lips crushed down on mine. It felt like heaven. I didn’t want to leave him, but I had to do that. I had to reject Eli. I slipped into the back seat of the black SUV and gave the driver the directions. He frowned and I remembered there was some kind of dispute between the pa
Leah’s POVIt didn’t seem as if Eli had realized what was happening to Sebastian, and in order to save Eli, I had to figure out a way to calm these two men down! I shifted so fast in Eli’s arms, that it caught him completely off guard and he took a couple of steps back. I growled at him and his expression changed from shocked to fury as he shifted in defence. I felt Sebastian behind me shifting and I knew I had just made things worse instead of better. I took a step forward and growled at Eli and in an instant, he stormed toward me. I could see what happened to us in my previous life happening again and before Eli reached past me, I snapped at him and my teeth sank into the flesh of his shoulder. He turned and I got out of his way just in time before he could chomp away at me! In the corner of my eye, I saw Sebastian taking a step closer and I shook my head. This was where things had to change. I had to fight Eli. There
Leah’s POVI had no idea if I was ready to just jump into the physical part of our relationship yet. I knew that female wolves usually went into heat if they didn’t mate fast, and from what I heard was that it was pretty excruciating if you didn’t mate as soon as possible, but since nothing strange had happened to me yet, I thought we might have some time. I mean, I knew Sebastian was my mate when I ran from Eli, but only the goddess would know how the timeline of everything changed when she reincarnated me back into my past. I decided not to look back anymore. It was just too confusing and it was giving me an incredible headache. I saved Eli from being killed by Sebastian, I hoped. You can never really tell with these male sorts. I hopefully saved the wolves in my old pack that was being mistreated, and I finally found out why Sebastian turned out the way he did previously. When Eli claimed me as his, Sebastian saw red.
Leah’s POVI woke up feeling more rested than I ever had before. The weight of the world I had been carrying for so long had finally been lifted off my shoulders. Finding Sebastian hadn’t been the fairy tale I always imagined when finding my mate, but it was my fairy tale. No, our fairy tale. We would make it the best we ever had. A strange thought popped into my head, as I wondered how much control the moon goddess really had over our destinies if there was something like second-chance mates. I mean, if you found your destined mate, wasn’t that meant to be it? Weren’t you meant to live happily ever after? Okay! I was getting too damn lost in fairy tales! I laughed and shook my head as I climbed into the shower. This was the first day of my new life, and it didn’t matter what destiny had in store for me. I was going to make it the best life anyone could ever live. I got dressed and when I walked into the room
Eli’s POVI had no damn journalist, and the elder council was crawling up my ass insisting I fix up the omega houses! I wanted to know who called them, but while they were hanging around my damn house, I couldn’t actually grab omegas one by one to find out anything! Besides all that, I was still healing after my fight with Leah. A fight that made me look bad in front of my damn warriors. Since she rejected me, I no longer felt the need to be near her, but I still had the problem of an heir to deal with and, since my mate clearly wasn’t producing one, there was only one option.Leah was going to carry my child whether she wanted to or not! I will find a way.Sebastian’s POVEmily didn’t even have to say it! My senses were tingling as we walked into the house.“Nathaniel!” I growled, protectively stepping in front of Leah. Th
Leah’s POV My breath caught in the back of my throat as my hand felt his muscles tightening underneath my touch. It felt as if my entire body had been electrified. Every nerve ending took in as much information as it could. I had never felt this pull toward anybody. Not even Sebastian the first time we were here. Our lips touched and I could have sworn I heard the angels sing “HALLELUJAH! HALLELUJAH!” Right there at that very perfect moment, I knew I had made the right decision. I knew that Sebastian was the mate I was always meant to be with. My body was tingling all over and we were still in our clothes, which made me wonder how intense it would get once we were completely naked. Sebastian started to leave burning hot kisses down the side of my jaw and although my human mind was screaming for me to stop him, I couldn’t. I knew where he was aiming for and I wanted him. I wanted him to mark me. I wanted the world to know that I was his and he was mine. His fingers fumbled slightly wi
