EROS

They were everywhere. Rogues.

I fought alongside my brother, killing every slimy rogue that was unfortunate to encounter us. It was a fucking bloodbath.

Dexter shifted into Draco, gingerly charging at the endless rogues that poured into the Academy from a black portal. I didn't realise that these slimy rogues had witches at their disposal too.

Inferno raged within me, wanting to step out and burn these animals to the ground, but I was withholding my strength. I'd need it for when I eventually got to the library.

Raw anger flooded my veins as I felt a weakness that wasn't mine. My chest hurt so much; I could tell it was from Ira. She was in there, and she was in danger.

I snapped the neck of every rogue, throwing a bolt of fire every now and then when the attacks became too much. I had been in my office when Elias broke the news of the rogue attack.

It's been a while since there was a rogue attack, and I'd focused my attention on

IRA'S POVWe walked in the middle of the woods, tied like criminals while the masked men tugged us forward using the ropes."Walk fast," one of the men hissed, dragging at Billie's rope and almost making her fall."She's weak!" I said, holding her from falling while barely surviving on my own. "We have been walking for hours.""Who gave you the permission to speak?" one of them growled, but I was not fazed. At this point, I didn't give a damn if they killed me. I couldn't care less about my life. But Billie? She didn't deserve this. They didn't have to bring her along since they caught me. But they did. Which made me so upset I could only see red."I'm just saying, we need to get some water." I held on to Billie until she could stand on her own."We were in the thick of the smoke for over an hour while you dug through the walls, kidnapped us, and whooshed us right into the woods.""The least you could do after teleportin

IRAChaos ensued, and I heard the distinct voices of people in the library. The next second, the sound of a blaring fire alarm hit the air, muffling their silent screams. My eyes watered as more smoke filled the air, causing Billie to throw a fit of coughs as we tried to find our way out of the place."Shit!" Billie cursed. "I think we are locked in!"I stepped forward, towards the double gate that led to our side of the library. It was slammed shut.I pulled at the door with all my strength, trying to tug it open, all to no avail. The air grew misty, so much I could hardly see through the thickness of the smoke.Billie's coughing increased, and so did mine. My lungs felt like they were on fire, and my throat burned.I turned to Billie, speaking through the cough. "Is there an alternative route?" I asked, and she didn't say a word."Billie?" I gasped, painfully looking through the air to catch a glimpse of her."Billie!"

IRA"Class dismissed."The bell rang as soon as the words went out of Mr. Kieran's lips. As expected, the class turned rowdy and everyone filed towards the door.I gathered my bag and books, with Billie, who spoke as she placed her books in a small backpack."I will be making a stop at the library to get an early start on the assignment," she said, looking at the time.I pursed my lips, feeling terrible as I listened to her speak."Want to come?" she offered, meeting my eyes. "I could help you get a free pass in my name."I shook my head and pulled her closer with a frustrated expression. "Are you sure you want to be seen around me?" I asked."You are already going through enough as it is, Billie," I explained. "You shouldn't be hanging with me right now.""Why?" she asked in such an innocent voice, I felt infuriated."Don't pretend like you can't read the freaking room, Billie," I gritted. "I bet they all think I

IRABillie was oddly silent.I could hear her brain working out the little tiff between me and Preston. I knew I was supposed to speak to her.It wasn't fair keeping her in the dark, but I just couldn't bring myself to speak about it. Not just yet.My thoughts swirled around Preston's words as we headed back to class. What did he mean by his brother was right? Who the hell was his brother? We walked down the streets and eventually got to our class building. The stares didn't stop, neither did the murmurs.I hated that Billie had to be subjected to that kind of scrutiny. She already had enough to deal with on her own. I didn't want to rope her into any of these things. Not when I couldn't protect her.I stepped away from Billie, putting some space between us and giving her room to bail. I wouldn't be upset if she did.For some reason, Billie didn't bail. Instead, she stepped up to my side, walking beside me without any ca

  • Claiming Our Runaway Lycan Queen    49 - Don't act like you didn't know

IRA'S POV"He's lying," Billie said to me while the headmaster made a few more pronouncements."What?" I blinked, turning to her."Everyone knows that vampires are responsible for the attack," Billie said. "I was in the library this morning just to make sure I wasn't wrong.""Paleness, drained of blood, wide eyes," she listed. "It's the signature of a vampire killing.""You can't be too sure," I said, not knowing why I felt the urge to defend the headmaster. "Perhaps there is something greater at play. You can't be too sure.""Perhaps," Billie shrugged. "I just think the elders know more than they are letting on.""Is that supposed to be a bad thing?" I whispered, wondering aloud.Billie turned to me with raised eyebrows."I mean, I would believe that if they are trying to cover the situation, there should be a reason," I tried to justify myself."That's the point," she said. "If there is a reason, then why lie? W
