Ira is the lowest-ranking wolf in the werewolf community. Bullied by her peers, maltreated by her guardian, and supposedly wolfless. When the werewolf coronation of the next king comes along, she is forced to attend as a servant of the royal family. Things take a drastic turn when she finds that she is mated to the Royal Alpha twins, who are said to be cursed and want nothing more than to protect and take what’s theirs.

“You will serve at the coronation ceremony.” Denmark fired his orders. “You are expected to do everything perfectly and don't cause a ruckus.” He flung a piece of paper towards me. “That's the address. You go tonight, do as you're asked and come right back. Don't even think about running away, we both know you won't survive without me.” I picked the rough handled piece of paper and hid my pain. “Yes sir.” “The gig have been handsomely paid for. Do not put the name of this business to shame, Ira. Do you understand?” “Yes sir.” Denmark stood up, more like wriggled his way out of the chair. He was an overweight. A slave trader who found me in the woods four years ago. He gave me a roof over my head in exchange for my services. I gladly agreed and signed it in my blood. I didn't know what I was getting myself into. And even if I did, I would have signed my soul anyway. I couldn't risk getting caught. My head remained bowed and my knees planted to the tiled floor. I let Denmark perform his usual rites before letting me go. Denmark abused and used me for his sick pleasures. He was sick in the head and he proved it by ripping me off my clothing down to my underwear. “You look decent.” He grunted in approval. “There will be a lot of high ranked wolves in that event. I expect you to put your looks to good use and bring back enough money to cover your living expenses.” That was his way of reminding me to prostitute myself to any willing wolf looking for a good lay. “Don't come back empty handed.” He warned with a sick smile. “Yes sir.” “Good.” Denmark left the living room, making a mess as he left to answer his ringing phone. I got up from the floor, my knees were bruised and sore from kneeling and the menial tasks I was assigned. “You should kill him…” I heard my wolf whisper into my mind. “You should let me rip him to shreds.” Khanos was my other half. My soulmate and the only one who understood me in the entire world. She was my fierce Lycan wolf. The last of her kind. She was the reason I lived this life. To protect us from the death that lurked in the shadows of our true identity. “It's been four years, Khanos.” I chided. “We are getting settled in here. We can't ruin that now.” My wolf huffed at my words, knowing I was right but refusing to humour me with a response. I've been on the run with my wolf ever since I could walk. The last words of my mother who was killed by some rogues while we camped in the woods never left me. “Run, Ira! Do not let them get you!” Every night I heard her voice. It spurred me to action. Kept me grounded and always on the run. When I entered the werewolf community and landed in the hands of Denmark, I decided to remain. With that decision came a price. I had to live as a slave and reduced myself to be maltreated by peasants. Everytime my wolf ached to come out and show them who's boss, I restricted her. These days, it was easier to live as a low ranking wolf in the community. I was used to the abuse and my wild wolf was easier to contain. I just had to get through this night in one piece. Just like I have been for the past four years. My wolf didn't do well around high ranking wolves because of their tendencies to be bigger pricks. I prayed that the night blows off beautifully and brings some good cash too. I had plans to get out of this shitstorm soon. I just needed to save enough money first. A thing that proved hard with Denmark constantly stealing from me. I got to the Alpha King's house at 2pm. The coronation was at 8 and we had to do a lot of preparations for the event. “Follow her. Make sure that the hall is set and designed to perfection.” The Royal Court lady said to a selected number of us. I followed my peers to the duty post and worked alongside them. Due to my dependency on my physical strength, I got tired easily. Nevertheless, I finished my allocation and was ready to call it a day when one of my colleagues called me out rudely. “Hey! Where are you off to?” She can't be referring to me. I thought and continued my journey out of the set hall. The next second, I felt a wet rag hit my neck. I stiffened and stopped in my tracks. “You don't walk when I am talking to you, dimwit!” One of the ladies yelled. I turned around and came to contact with a tall brunette. “Who says you could leave?” she snickered, I swallowed hard, trying to rein my anger. “I was done with my portion.” I answered calmly. One look at her and I could tell she was a middle class wolf. Stronger than us low class wolves and yet cleaning tables with us. “You could kill her with a single punch…” my wolf breathed and I tried not to dance to her tune. “No you aren't.” The woman pointed to her portion, which was untouched. “Get to work, scum.” I looked at the others and as usual, their eyes were averted as they focused on their duties. No one wanted trouble. I didn't want trouble too. Against everything I stood for, I decided cleaning another large portion of tables and chairs wouldn't hurt. I was wrong. It hurt like a bitch. The night came and I was dressed in the servers uniform. My body ached all over and I just wanted to curl up in bed and sleep. But I couldn't have that. The coronation of the next Alpha king was on and in few seconds we would get to work all night long. The court lady addressed us before we went in. “As you know, there are important personalities in this event. You must be in your best manners and serve with respect.” “The Alpha king will be handed a drink to toast his new reign as king. One of you will be expected to serve him and his brother before the toast.” “Who will it be?” No one. No one moved. It seems like everyone shied away from the responsibility. After minutes of silence, the lady continued her speech. “You.” She pointed towards my direction. “You will handle it.” Her tone left no room for arguments. “Anything else?” When no one spoke, she dismissed us. “That will be it for now. We recovene here at midnight.”DEXTERI stared at the obsidian orbs of my mate. There was only one word that came to mind.Perfect. So, so perfect, and mine. The air around us thickened as I stared at her, taking in the little contours of her little face. The beautiful blemishes and rosy lips. She was so beautiful, it felt unreal. My heart wavered at the sight of her. My sweet little precious. She was finally here, right in my arms. I thought I'd have to go to war with my brother to have her with me, but here she was, staring at me with widened eyes.A gift from the moon goddess."I'm sorry, sire," she gasped, trying and failing to get out of my arms, but I held on tight, letting the bond soothe the years of longing, waiting, and searching for her.I was never letting go. She was mine.Mine to keep, protect, and love. I stared at her like she was my world, and she was. One look at her, and my world seemed like it was finally coming together.Father's words returned to me. A silent whisper - When you find her, treas
IRA'S POVThe first thing I noticed was the odd stares. It was hard not to notice when I felt their odd gazes follow me around while I went through my duties. I didn't miss the whisperings, too.Apparently, my little stunt at the coronation was still fresh in the hearts of my colleagues. I didn't let that bother me and instead sought out ways to meet Tamara while going about my duties. All my efforts to get an audience with Tamara were fruitless, and a part of me wondered if it was a deliberate act on her part. Nevertheless, I went about my duties, deciding to find her as soon as work ended.I stood in the kitchen, washing what felt like a truckload of dirty dishes when my roommate walked in with more utensils, ready for washing. My fingers were soft and pale from the tedious task, and no matter how much I hand-washed the pile of dirty dishes, it only seemed to increase."Where are the plates?" she asked with an air of arrogance, and I gestured towards the storeroom, head bowed as I t
EROS POV"Where is she?!"My office door threw open and my brother breezed in with blazing eyes.I sat on my chair, unbothered. "What are you talking about?" I asked, feigning ignorance."You know exactly what I'm talking about, Eros," Dexter snapped. "Do not test me. Where is she?"I placed my pen on the table and slowly met his eyes. "I don't know," I stated, lying through my teeth. "Maybe if you try to explain, we'll take it up from there.""Ira," Dexter said. "Where is she? I got to her room and it was empty.""Ah," I said in a mocking tone. "You mean my maid?"I watched the veins in my brother's forehead pulse in anger."Your what?" His eyes dilated as he asked with a ferocious expression."You heard me," I corrected, relaxing on my chair. "You see, I've always told you, actions have consequences.""You might get to choose your actions, but you don't get to choose your consequences.""What did you do to her?" His tone was slow, dangerous, and heavy."Rest assured. She's fine," I
IRAI stood in the servants' quarters with the court lady and other maidservants who gathered around the hallway."This is Ira," the court lady said. "She will be joining you all as a part of the king's palace maids."I felt the burning gazes of every single one of them as they assessed me."She is yet to discover her wolf," the court lady said, eliciting some snickers around."Would she ever?" a feminine voice said from the crowd, eliciting giggles.I wasn't fazed. It wasn't the first time I'd gotten roasted about my non-existent abilities.I'd taken it as a part of the life I chose to lead - a life I was currently not living as a result of my situation.Khanos, on the other hand, didn't appreciate their remarks. Never did.I felt her strong desire to claw out the throat of the one who dared to insult her person, but I pushed her down.I needed to get out of here before things got out of hand."Silence," the court lady said, restoring the calm. "Since we are short a few hands, she wi
IRA'S POVI hated this room. It's been almost a week since I've been trapped here.Every single day, I felt my wolf grow stronger, and I hated it. It was getting difficult to keep Khanos in check without my herbs. This was the longest I'd gone without my herbs, which helped me maintain my powerless state.I couldn't stand being locked up in this room any longer. It didn't seem like it was going to end well for me if I remained here. Despite the fact I had everything I needed and was treated more like a guest than a prisoner, I needed to escape. The door flew open, and I didn't bother to look. I could bet it was one of the palace maids assigned to bring me food. Every day, I received sumptuous meals from the palace kitchen, and I was growing tired of them all.For the first time since I got caught, I looked forward to meeting Eros or Dexter once again. It felt like they had all forgotten I was still in here. That was the only explanation I could make up for their silence these past few
EROS.It's been five days since I saw her.Five days since I got decent sleep. Every night, I stayed awake, fighting a losing battle. She was everywhere. In my dreams, in my mind, she was my every waking thought. My Erasthai.I hated how much she affected me. I despised how much she made me feel. I couldn't let her deceive me or my brother. Not again.Dexter hadn't returned home since our little tiff. Every day, I got news of his brutality with the pack warriors. Dexter was my beta, and the commander of our armed forces. He was also the strongest wolf I knew. Other than me, of course.I knew him well enough to know that he was staying away from the palace on purpose. It was all because of her. Our little fiery mate I'd placed in confinement. He couldn't stand it. I couldn't stand it either. My wolf was getting restless with every day I stayed away from her, trying to find something incriminating about her.I placed some men on her case, asking them to dig up everything they could find
