“Ahh, I can’t believe it. We are officially in business.” I squeal excitedly as I look around.
The workers had done a fantastic job! All the desks were in one large open area so everyone could work in the same space. Gabe and I had our office. We had a food bar set up with everything from cereal to candy, plenty of drinks, and there will be fresh food every single day. We wanted to make a space where everyone would be comfortable. Our staff will consist of forty people in total. I couldn’t wait to get started. The place is decorated with blue and white. It was modern in style. It is everything we pictured it to be.

Hello everyone, and we have officially came to an end. Thank you all for reading! I will miss these two, but I look forward to creating new characters for you all. Happy holidays everyone! And all the best for 2022 when it comes. I will see you all then ;)
AubreyI was making my way to the conference room for a meeting. The advertisement company that I worked for was getting a new client. Who, we do not know? This is what the meeting is. Everyone was rushing to the room, seeming more anxious than usual. Have I missed something?“Jenna, what is going on? Why is everyone freaking out?” I asked my colleague.“You haven’t heard? This isn’t just any meeting. Mr Hunter is joining,” she said.Mr Gabe Hunter, the CEO of our company. His family owned many businesses throughout the world, most based here in the US. I work in one of the New
AubreyI was exhausted by the time I got home. It had been a busy day. I was ready to get into my pjs, have dinner and a glass of wine, in front of the TV watching some crappy movie. My mind was tired from everything that was going on today, but I have a prototype for a new website for Modern Vintage because I think they can do better than they have right now. They cater to all, and I don’t believe the site shows that. I think if they showed more, then they could become more.I sat my things down, heading to the kitchen to reheat yesterday’s leftovers. I hated cooking, so I always cooked enough to cook for two nights. If I could live on takeaways, I would, but that wasn’t healthy for anyone. I was a lazy cook. I can cook. I just didn’t like doing it. I heated the pasta in the microwave and prepar
AubreyMy plan to have a night alone failed! When I settled down after my call with Gabe, my friends decided to call and informed me that we were going out tonight. It was the weekend, after all. I was too tired, but they insisted. Now, here I am, getting myself ready for a night of bar hopping and clubbing. I would rather be snuggled up on the sofa with a good book. I could have told them no, but it would not have worked because they would just show up at my door. I love my friends, but they can be a pain in my ass. I know they don’t want me to be boring and alone, but sometimes that is exactly what I want.I was mostly ready. I had my hair done, letting my naturally wavy
Gabe“Dude, rather than standing her staring at her from afar, go and talk to her. Buy her a drink. Ask her if she wants a passionate night of lovemaking,” my buddy Carlos said.“Lovemaking? Really?” I laughed, “And no. I am not interested in Miss Winters anyway. Plus, she works for the company,” I added.“They all sound like excuses to me,” He replied,” And you don’t want her? Bullshit! Most men will want her, and you have spent most of the night perving on her,” He added, laughing.“You imagine things, buddy,” I said, “There are strict policies and rules on this kind of thing,” I added. It was true. There were policies against someone at my level fraternising with anyone who works for the company. They are put in place to keep everyone safe
Aubrey I regretted drinking so much last night because now I have to go to work, and I feel like shit! Why did I let myself get in such a state? I don’t know how I will face Gabe at this video call on Sunday, not after last night. I should not have got as wasted, not in front of him. I was dancing on tables and everything, and then he had to take my drunken ass home. How embarrassing for me.I had my shades on to hide my eyes as I walked into work, an extra-strong coffee in my hand. It was my third coffee thus far, and I took painkillers, so hopefully, the hangover will ease within the next couple of hours. I said hello to everyone, heading straight for my office.“You looked like you had a good night,” Darren said, coming into my office.“I am regretting it now,” I groan, resting my head on the table.“Well, sweetie, you bet
Gabe I was frustrated by the end of the meeting. Why? Because of Aubrey. I saw the eyes rolls and the annoyance on her face when I said certain things. Yes, we discussed work in the meeting, everyone seems to know what they are doing, including Aubrey, but her attitude sucks! I could get her ass fired if she wasn’t so damn good.“I think that will do for today,” I said.Everyone nodded and started gathering their things.“Except you, Aubrey, I need a word,” I said, looking at her.“Yes, Sir,” Aubrey replies.Kay and Darren headed out, leaving us to talk.“I would appreciate if you dropped the attitude, Miss Winters,” I said firmly, “If you weren’t as good at your job, I would get your ass fired,” I added.“Yes, I am good a
Aubrey It was Monday morning, and I was heading into work, coffee in hand. I knew I had a busy day ahead of me. I wasn’t dreading it as much as I was on Friday because my time spent with Gabe at the gym has made me relax. We even grabbed a coffee after it. It was strange the two of us getting along. I am not sure how it will be at work, though.I was ignoring how tired I was. That is what happens when I need to get up at five a.m. and only fell asleep about one. Plenty of caffeine, and I will be fine. I headed to my office to drop my things off before heading to the conference room where we were meeting this morning.I grabbed my iPad and phone and headed through. I was the first one there, which surprised me. I thought Gabe or Kay would already have been here. I took a seat, sipping my coffee and waited for the others to arrive.Suddenly the door opens and in walks Gabe. He
Gabe “I think it is time to call it a day. You have all worked hard today,” I announce. It was eight p.m., and I had been working them hard but making sure they had breaks in between. I don’t think I have ever seen people move as quickly as Kay and Darren were moving. Aubrey didn’t seem to be in such a rush.“I will see you all tomorrow, just your usual starting time,” I said, “We made a good start today,” I add.Kay and Darren said goodbye to us, heading out. Aubrey was still typing away on her laptop.“Aubrey, it is time to go home,” I said. She didn’t look up at me; instead, she held her hand up, stating she would be one minute. I don’t even know what she was doing. I waited a minute, and that soon turned to five, and then ten. I was getting impatient. I wanted home.
