"It's a mild fever, but I expect it'll clear in a few days. She needs to rest, keep warm and take it easy. I don't know what she has been doing, but it looks to me like her body was overwhelmed."
Dexter nodded and led the doctor back to the living room. If he had been any doctor, their liaison would have ended there and he would have left. But, Doctor Payne was his friend from college days and he showed no signs of leaving soon.

Twenty-fourAnelia came to in the dead of the night and unlike the characters she had read about in a number of books, she was not overly disconcerted and immediately knew that she was in Dexter's room. The silk sheets covering her body felt good caressing her skin just as much they were unfamiliar but she would have had to be a log not to acknowledge just how comfortable the bed was.

Natie yawned and rolled away from the edge of the bed. She threw her hand and leg carelessly to the other side of the bed and furrowed her brows when she felt her leg and arm land on something soft. She didn't remove her leg and arm atop her sister but shifted closer as if to only get more comfortable. It was no lie that Natie was a very unstable sleeper. She could go to sleep with her head on the pillow and wake up with her head almost hanging off the edge of the bed and her feet laying on the pillow instead."You're the one in my bed," she cheekily replied before closing her eyes again. It was one thing to pledge to do something and a whole different thing to actually do it. Which was why Anelia contemplated running back to her bedroom when she was faced with Dex. She had woken up a little later in the day, no doubt feeling a little better than she had been and taken a warm shower. Of course, Anelia swore not to take anymore cold showers, which she had been taking in the early mornings when she was trying to avoid Dex. Anelia easily caught a cold and she should have known that taking cold showers in the morning to help rejuvenate her from lack of sleep was not a very good idea. She had seen Dexter; alright perhaps the word spied would have been a lot more accurate, walk upstairs after he had finished his breakfast and Natie had said that she was going to her bedroom.

In a panicked and quite frankly, overly dramatic manner, she stretched both her arms out, displaying the palms of her hands in a gesture that was meant to bring Dexter to an abrupt stop."Stop!"
