"Why wouldn't she invite us though?"

"What do you think, Rowan?"

"I don't think anything, Matteo. That's why I'm asking."

Matteo sighed, looking up at me. "You have to stop worrying about this."

"Stop worrying? We haven't heard from her since she ran out of our house on Saturday. That's a week ago, brother."

My brother kissed his teeth. "We're giving her space, remember?"

"Too much space, apparently," I said bitterly, glancing at the picture on my phone again. It was one of Cassie and Jules, dressed up for Halloween.

They had taken the picture on Thursday night but Cassie was just posting it.

She posted it on a new Instagram account. I didn't know what to make of that.

"Fine. Let's give her a few more days and we'll go to her, okay?"

"Fine." I gritted out even if I wasn't satisfied with the decision. I just didn't want to go to her and have her run away from us forever.

I didn't want to lose her.
