“What if it is a misunderstanding? You know how that sister of yours is,” the man said.
“Brother, I want to go home,” Elaine said as she cried.
“Home? Which home? You know that if you go back to Mr Sawyer’s mansion, he will just blame you for not being able to keep your husband and will support Rosa. Don’t forget that they might even force you to divorce your man. Are you ready to divorce him?” he asked, and Elaine kept quiet, making him sigh.
“Sweetie. You and Travis grew up here together, I understand that. But don’t you think that you have given up so much for him? When mom and Mr Sawyer divorced, you chose not to follow mom cause you didn’t want to be away from Travis, and were afraid that the marriage alliance between those two families might fall into your step-sister’s hands, but let me ask you, have you been happy? Has that man made you happy or even managed to make you smile since Rosa and her mother joined the Sawyers’ family?” he asked, and tears flowed down Elaine’s cheek as she recalled everything that had happened all those years.
“Has that father of yours protected you from those two? If Old Mr Sawyer had not been alive and always had your back, what kind of life could you be living? Huh?” he asked, and Elaine kept quiet.
“Brother, though I wanted to stay cause of Brother Travis, Dad didn’t allow Mom to leave with me. Don’t forget that Mom held forty-five percent of the Sawyers' Company. She refused to sign them back to Travis and instead signed under my name. If I left with mom, dad wouldn’t have gotten his hands on those shares,” Elaine said as she wiped her tears, while her brother was shocked.
“I am not a fool as you all think I am. However, I found everything during my eighteenth birthday,” Elaine stated, but she didn’t want to explain too much.
Still, she couldn’t deny that she had indeed refused to go with her mother cause of her husband, who had promised to always be there for her and never leave her. But now, just the same way her father chose the mistress's daughter over her, he had chosen her.
“I want to go far away from here. Is there any love left in this place?” she asked as she looked around. “Brother, I want to leave with you. Please deal with the divorce documents and procedures as soon as possible.”
She then stood up and dragged her tired body out of the house and towards her brother, Matt’s car. Matt stood there looking at her lonely departing figure and sighed. However, he thought that it was a good thing cause her mother had missed her and had been hoping that Elaine would one day go to her.
On the other side, at the hotel. Travis opened his eyes and felt someone lying on his chest. He smiled when he thought that it was Elaine, but when his eyes fell on the black hair, he was stunned and frowned. He pushed the person out of the bed, making Rosa fall with a thud, and immediately woke up.
She opened her eyes and looked at Travis with a wronged expression.
“Brother Travis…” she called out softly with tears in her eyes, but Travis stared at her coldly.
“What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you that you should leave?” Travis asked coldly as he got out of bed. Looking at the clear sky and the burning sun outside, he cursed silently as he had promised Elaine that he would be back home on time, but who knew that his friends would organize a birthday party for him?
He recalled yesterday that someone had poured wine on him, so he came here to take a shower. After coming out, he felt so tired that he thought he could get a nap before walking up to go home.
“Brother Travis, you were drunk yesterday, and I didn’t want to leave you alone. So…” Rosa said, then kept quiet.
“Then why didn’t you call Elaine to come and take care of me?” he asked sharply as he stared at the woman who didn’t look anything like his wife. Sometimes he wondered whether the report he had received from the DNA test was true.
“I am sorry, brother. I came near your bed and you held me. After that, we…” Rosa said as she blushed while Travis' eyes darkened.
“If any of this gets to Elaine, then I will kill you,” he warned her coldly before walking towards the washroom.
“But brother, we had a good night together. You even said that I satisfy you more than Elaine does,” Rosa said with her head lowered, but her eyes had a glint in them.
Travis halted upon hearing that. To be honest, he didn’t recall anything that happened yesterday, thus he didn’t know whether the latter was telling the truth. He looked at her, frowned when he saw her naked and having some marks on her body. He immediately stopped looking at her and hurriedly walked away, as he didn’t want to stay there anymore.
Rosa looked at the closed door with a proud look on her face. She knew how proud Elaine was, so how could the latter continue being with Travis after the photos she had sent? However, she wanted to make sure that Elaine would really divorce Travis, so she hurriedly took her phone and sent a text to someone.
“What are you still doing here?” Travis asked coldly when he saw Rosa seated on the bed with a nightdress.
Before Rosa replied, they heard people talking outside the suite and banging on the door. Travis's eyes turned cold and stared at Rosa for a while, and he understood what she was trying to do.
“Don’t be a fool. Do you think that by calling the media people that, I will marry you? There are many mistresses out there. You will be marked as a woman who seduced her sister’s husband. You will be hated and won’t be able to show your face to the public. Don’t forget that people can’t attack me. You are so naïve and stupid,” he said coldly, causing Rosa’s face to turn pale as she looked at Travis in disbelief.
“Should I open the door for you, or will you do it?” Travis asked coldly, and Rosa was filled with fear.
“Are you sure that you are fine going back there?” a soft, worried voice asked.“Mom, you heard what Dad said on the phone. If I don’t go, who knows what will happen to that company? You built it with your own hands, and I don’t understand why you left it for him to manage it despite of knowing that he has poor management and financial skills,” Elaine answered, making her mother stare at her.“That’s your father you are talking about. Speaking of him with total respect,” her mother reprimanded her, making Elaine roll her eyes.“Whatever. He has never treated me well. He treats that girl better than he treats me, his own daughter. Someone can mistake that Rosa is his biological daughter, and I am the daughter whom my mother brought when she married that family,” Elaine said, causing her mother to sigh as she didn’t know what else to say, as her daughter already hated her father so much.“You know that he is forcing you to go there as he wants you to hand over the shares in your hands.
After five years.“Sorry, but you can’t get in,” the security guard said.“Who do you think you are? This is my family’s empire. Who are you to stop me?” Rosa asked arrogantly, making the security guard frown.“I am sorry, Miss Sawyer, but the president is currently busy, and he has instructed not to allow anyone into his office. If you have to see him, wait for him over there,” the security guard said as he pointed at a sofa in the corridor, making Rosa’s face darken. She wondered why, even when that bitch had vanished, Travis refused to marry her. She even had his child, but he didn’t treat her any better. Only when she used the child would she get a chance to see him, but she was tired of it. She was the mother of his heir. Why then didn’t anyone give her the respect she deserved? Just thinking of all these made her angry.“Why is Marcus?” She took her phone and called someone.“Madam, Marcus is currently in school,” the person on the other side said nervously.“What! Shouldn’t he
Seeing the headlines, Elaine sneered as she had not thought that Rosa would let go of such an opportunity. Seeing there were signs of Travis spending the night with another woman, how could her sister let go of such a good opportunity to show off and get the resources she had always wanted? However, she knew that this must have had something to do with Travis, who didn’t want her to know that he was cheating on her; sadly, she already knew.“Elaine?” Travis called when he got home, but all he was met with was silence. He walked to their room and saw that all her clothes were gone, causing his eyes to turn cold. He went to the surveillance room to watch what had happened the previous night. Seeing him making meals and decorating the house for his birthday, his expression softened, but then he saw that all that had changed when she talked with someone on a call.He watched her waiting for him before seeing her started to cry when she received something on her phone. He halted the video

Elaine Parker had a smile on her face as she lit up the candles in the dining room. Today was her husband, Travis Parker's, birthday, and she wanted them to celebrate together. Just them alone without having friends and family around. She knew that Travis had been so busy in the last couple of months that he didn’t get time to even go back home, thus she hoped that this day, she could use it to force him to have a good rest.“When will you be back from work?” she texted him upon seeing that it was quite late and he wasn’t here yet.She had spoken to him in the morning and told him that she had a surprise for him in the evening, so she would be waiting for him. The man had promised to arrive early, but it was already past nine o’clock, yet he wasn’t present.Elaine took a deep breath, as this wasn’t the first time such a thing had happened, and was even ready to wait for him to come back. However, deep down, she was disappointed and tried her best not to think too much about all the ti
